Fr. Roman:
"So we have to make this experience to enter in ourselves, to discover God within ourselves.
How? Well, how to say it to you, it's hard in America because, here, you know, the young people want to live in noise. They make a lot of noise because they don't feel good if it is not too much noise around.
It's like an escape, this so called 'music', I don't know if it is music or not, it is some noise. But they like it because they are afraid to stay by themselves, to be quiet one hour in one place and don't say anything, stay there because God wants to talk to you. They are afraid to make these experiences and they say, “let's make noise…”
Like a little girl in the camp, we have a religious education camp, I always mention that there was a little girl there, teenage, not so little, and she had two transistor radios, one here and one here because there were two programs, I don't know, with the earphones, both of them full blast and she was walking through the camp and somebody told her to shut them off and she said, “Father, if I shut them off I’m getting crazy”.
Imagine what a dramatic situation, not to be able to be just you and Jesus Christ. If you don't have anything to say to Him, He has something to say to you.
First of all we have to be at least one or two hours by ourselves there. Not only in prayer to say something, to ask, “give me that, give me that God”. No, this is not the prayer. The prayer is to have that feeling that God is within you. That is the definition of prayer. It's not as much as you read, it is not much as many songs you say, prayer is when you feel that God is within you.
We are a mystery, we don't know who we are. David said, “What is man that Thou art mindful of him, and the son of man that Thou dost visit him? For Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor.” [Ps 8:4-5]
What is the man? We don't know, we don't know why God needed to create me or you and me. Because God is fullness, but He wanted to have somebody to talk with.
We don't understand, God wants to talk with us all the time. But we don't pay any attention to Him."
In 1995 he was well aware of the overstimulation that is just now reaching mainstream discourse.

What an amazing lecture unlike a lot of the fluffy stuff we hear from many clergy today
It is not problem only in america that people cannot stay quiet these days. It is problem in the whole world. Only on some very remote places where people are living extremely simple life, they live in quietness but they are extremely rare. India, middle east, north africa, europe, asia all are full of noise

So true -many years ago I tried this, and in less than 5-7 minutes I start to hear words in both languages. Those words start to kind of dress in the sentence with male collar voice. it’s hard to explain that experience. I would shush my thoughts and I would feel
that my head is like antenna. The message that I heard it was the scriptures from the Bible that has been underlined previously by me. I also had experience with the Holy Spirit answering. The Lord spoke, and the Almighty told something as well-in different periods of time.
I also heard the flirting, young, beautiful, and charming voice of Satan... speaking. And had some open visions since childhood.

May God rest his soul in peace. I knew him personally and I liked him much but, unfortunately, he took a strange attitude during his life at the Monastery in River Junction, MI. Under the excuse of obeying the totalitarian bishop Nathaniel he falsely spoken against brother priests for no reason. May God forgive him and also soon, 'the ruling bishop' Nathaniel, a former Byzantine Catholic priest, who came in OCA to become bishop since the great Archbishop Valerian was soon forced to an exile to Spain.
Its interesting. But father we are full of sins. Can God be within us?? since God loves purity. And also the devil may trick us how do we know whether the message is from lord Jesus or the devil or simply our thoughts??
The Bible says Christ is within us. And I believe it. Maybe do what the priest says- be still and quiet for 1 hour a day and see what happens.
@@Oshianis we are full of sins, yes, but God is like a sponge; He cleans the plate from all of it's spoches. So too it is with God. He makes His Home with us, but not before Consecrating us, (Baptism). And when He makes His Home with us, it is your job to let Him fulfill what He wants.

It is the rituals of man that are mere symbols that attempt to represent the mysteries of God.

But there is a great mystery in that God infused light and Spirit into body.
Man's rituals pale in comparison to what God has already done.
All these "ologies" seem to me as the onion layers that are confusing humans.
