The teams need to play the quarterfinals before there is even a chance of a Netherlands-England semi-final. Meulensteen gave a good analysis. But in some years the Dutch underperformed because the national team coaches were below par. 2010 WC repeat final Spain vs Holland and the Dutch look hungry every game they've played.
In a tournament a team usually has 1 bad game. Holland have had 1 out 4, England have had (at least) 3 out of 4. So, Holland have played better than England, therefore they would be favorites.
It feels like a semi of 3 🦁 v/s Oranji is inevitable. England will win.
We wouldnt and tbh : we will probably lose against the Swiss.
@@MultiBurger1😂😂😂😂
It's the beauty of a tournament you will never know what the other oponent is really like as it is hard to really know how strong the other teams are. As a Dutchman I certainly hope we get to face them. But Frankly the result is second to me, as long as they fight well I am happy. Austria game never again
The 2010 generation might have been better than the 1988 generation.
No way
@@docholiday-lm4vf Robben, Sneijder, van de Vaart en van Persie in their prime together with van Bronckhorst, Kuijt, van Bommel and Nigel de Jong. All playing for European top clubs.
not even close. Lets be honest, in 2010 it was horrible to watch. Yes they got to the finals, but thats about it. There's a recap of the 1998 Wc on youtube. Go and watch the games against Argentina & Brasil. They were really amazing some times
No way dude that 98 team was I believe the best Dutch team ever!
Im sorry to be criticizing you mate, but as a Dutch man I have to say you are seeing it completely wrong. Marco van Basten alone was a 3 time Ballon D'or winner
the guy on the left assuming england will be in the semi final. Let them beat switzerland first. Tough opponent
It's not like Muelensteen is saying anything outlandish. It's the Netherlands for goodness sake not Luxembourg.
Final Holland vs France
I don't care if the analysts have big mouths as long as our players stay humble and focussed, then great things can happen
The arrogance of the Dutch in the comments , apparently we won’t beat the Swiss 😂😂😂😂 enjoy the short drive home girls from dortmund 😂😂😂👋🏼
Come on Switzerland!!!!!!!!
Netherlands vs Spain final
And he’s right 🎉
Rene is right!! 14 juli finale!!!! 14= Johan Cruijff... finale is Holland - Spain no doubt about it and Marco van Basten is the analist of the game Holland- England😮!!!
Cruyff teached us how to beat English teams. These days they play a little different but many times it still works when the quality if players is not too far of each other.
Really?
Meulensteen 5:53 : “Holland used to produce footballers that always went to big clubs & big leagues, that has fallen to the wayside a little bit”
Uhm… Gakpo, Gravenberch, van Dijk (Liverpool), Aké (Man City), de Ligt (Bayern München), Frimpong (Leverkussen BL winner), de Jong (Barcelona), Maatsen & Malen (Dortmund), Depay (Atletico), vd Ven (Spurs), de Vrij, Dumfries (Inter Milan), Reijnders (AC Milan)…
Come on René, with your experience and knowledge you should know better.
Rene Meulensteen begrijpt het. Morgen eerst die Turken voor ontbijt, midweeks tegen de Engelsen als Lunch en het diner Duitsland

Netherlands winning in Germany is written in the stars. 🇳🇱
Germany’s biggest rivals lifting the trophy in their own backyard would go down like a lead balloon in Germany - also Switzerland winning it they wouldn’t like.
England Germany biggest rivals
Germany England is bigger
@@joshuaadjekukor9914 Germany are not that interested in England as a rival..Dutch is bigger
@@joshuaadjekukor9914 might want to brush up on your history, Germany and Netherlands are bitter to each other. Easily each others biggest rival.
1988 rerun
Without De Jong and Koopmeiners, their midfield looks very vulnerable.
LOL
@@jens2049 What is there to LOL about? They have a world class defence with Van Dijk, Ake, De Vrij, De Light, Dumfries. They definetly have a better defensive halve versus England and even Spain. Only France could say their defenders are on par with the Netherlands. Also Verbruggen is a great Goalie and has the potential to be as good as Van der Sar.
The midfielders on the other hand should be of a great level with Frenkie De Jong and Koopmeiners. But without those central 2 who bring so much balance, that is their real weak spot.
Attacking halve isn't great either, but with Gakpo and Malen. They again have good potential and both very fast wingers.
No it's fair to say, if anyone wants to see the Netherlands undone. You are going to have to break them in midfield.
What about WC 2010 and 2014? Euros were bad but final and a third place in WCs is not a bad performance.
You heard it here first, Turkey will eliminate the Dutch making this entire conversation redundant. England will get past the Swiss and reach the semi finals against Turkey and win that, thus reaching the final. England will play most likely Spain in the finals but maybe Germany. Whoever it is England will lose against.
Turkey (they want us to call them Turkiye from now on) play with their hearts, but it isn't a great team. If the Netherlands continue to draw lessons from their defeat against Austria, they will get past the Turks.
Turkey is sooo weak. Will be 5 or 6 null.
2000 we also deserve to be EK champion with bergkamp, kluivert, overmars, brothers the boer etc… we lost against Italië in the semi final butt we were much better. We missed alot penalties
Probably true. Netherlands will beat England unless England get their heads out of their backsides and do what they are paid to do. Perform.
Hard to believe this guy is actually dutch when he pronounces all the names wrong and calls us holland
England vs France is the final.
england spain imo
Keep dreaming
England won't make the final 😂
England won’t make the semifinals

If you ask a Dutchy a question you get a honest answer.
Your F1 media colleagues have a hard time dealing with it
We Could instead of Would
tHis guy is not soo clever.... van Gaal....Champions leage 1995
Memphis is a free agent. Strolls around. Did not tear the trees up at Manchester United.
Holland would do better to play a forward who moves around.
I think it will be spain or switzerland
4:53 Who pulled up that silly statistic and brings it forward like this? Holland haven't made it to the last day of a European Chanpionship in 16 years? And now they have in Germany? The last day? Really? What did he even mean? Passed the groupstage? But then 16 years? WTF!
Also if we are asking this question: where have England been these 16 years? Have they done better?
Holland is a county on the western coast of the Netherlands. Its like saying do you fancy Berkshire or England to win it.
There isnt a county called Holland in The Netherlands.... There are two provinces, 1 called South Holland and the other North Holland. They are both different provinces and dont form a county called Holland as a whole.....
@@yoloswaggins9989 They actually did form a County
Fully agree but we won't beat switzerland
Netherlands ranking is 7th. Which might be lower than England, but i think its close. 50/50. Both teams have their problems… who gets away with it?
Like Mickey Flanagan says the Dutch aren't auttt they're auttt auttt
England needs to see if they can beat switzerland first cus im pretty sure they can't
Its not Holland!!!Its the Netherlands!!!😠
I’m not too sure to be honest. England is absolutely not convincing. I even doubt they will beat Switzerland. The same goes for us. We can also lose against Turkey. And even if both teams will make it, it’s 50/50 in my opinion.
England , did they even win ever this tournament? They are now playing terribel
i totally agree with Rene, but lets face it apart from 1988(when the dutch won the european championship in munich on my birthday) we lost alot of WC finals(1974/1978/2010) dissapointing indeed and at many other worldcups or EC s we were eliminated by the later champions (argentina a few times) but look at the UK team always star quality players(big country big competition) and they always majorly dissapoint (they only won once worldcup on hometurf back in 1966 after a dubious goal against west germany) and the performances of uk team has been much worse than the netherlands team(only 1 bad game against austria) i see the following scenario they wil beat turkey 3-1 than beating suisse 2-1 AET and as typical dutch we will loose out in the final against Spain (again as we did in wc final 2010)
I believe that Morecambe would beat England...
I cant think of any team that could play SLOVAKIA for 90 min and not have 1 shot on target....
Championship or lower?? Everyone would get at least 1.....
Exactly, it doesn't matter the opposition at the moment, they are letting every team beat them in all departments and a manager that can't see it.
The Scottish club Raith Rovers beat England 4-1 in a bounce game today. The Raith manager was furious at conceding so late in the game to give England a consolation goal.
His deluded England have a much better squad and depth
Where have they shown that?
😅
England arguably has the best players. However, they also have Southgate managing the team. Southgate is the reason why most of your top players played like 💩.
The Dutch team played like 💩 as well in the first three games, so I think there’s a 50/50 chance of getting through to the finals.
@@mariodriessen9740 well Southgate is our best manager we won't get a better British manager than Southgate look at what his achieved
@@jlhus5615 : What did he achieve? One lost final?
Just look at the the first three games. The choices he makes. I don’t trust his decisions.
With the players you have, you should have won all four games with ease.
Well on current form the Dutch would win easy!
When has England made a top 3 in the world cup or european cup again?
You have no right to talk when your own country who is bigger in terms of people where in the second division you still make great money. Football lives more there and still you have nothing to show for it. Greetings from Amsterdam

How long did he last as head coach? 😂
He sounds like a South African.
That’s probably due to the fact that they used to speak Dutch in South Africa. And in large parts of South Africa they still speak a language that is extremely similar to Dutch. So our ‘accents’ are pretty much identical in some cases.
