Ferrari F2004, on slicks, breaks the track record in Suzuka. I beat the F1 2023 pole position of Max Verstappen, by 7.7 seconds, and set a new track record on this track.

I think we also have to account for the limits of real life racing compared to sim racing.
This mod is the ideal perfect version of the real car: the final developed chassis aero and engine, max engine mode without having to think about reliability. Max pushed lap without worrying about crashing, perfect ideal track condition,
Yeah, irl anyone would be more careful on doing these laps, but I don't think they would be far from this. I believe that we would see a faster lap time than this!

As great as this lap was I think taking some of these turns like the S's at 250kph is a little bit of a reach for this car even on slicls
I think it depends on the setup also. If you have higher wings you can take these turns easier and on this speed!

The f2004 wouldn’t be faster on slicks in real life, modern cars have more aero
so many factors to look into, modern cars are way heavier..the power to weight ratio is much less compared to the F2004. The modern car is quicker at corners because of the aero that helps the grip..but if the F2004 is equipped with the current tire profile and width, also with the car's much lighter weight and agility..that would be a significant improvement
Depends but no, they would be. Ralf Schumacher demonstrated this at the RBR, where he got a near pole lap time for modern cars when he's been out of commission for like 15 years
F2004 on slicks would be faster than F2004 on grooves. And since F2004 on grooves is already faster than the 2023 cars, F2004 on slicks would DESTROY the 2023 cars. The F2004 on grooves WR is 1:25.816 (Axel8). The 2023 pole was 1:28.877. That is over 3 seconds slower! On slicks, the F2004 would EASILY be under 1:25, maybe even much faster. No F1 car ever would beat F2004 on slicks.
The fact that we haven't seen a fast laptime, with the F2004 on slicks, makes many people have doubts about its performance. I truly believe that this car would break all the records by far on every single circuit!
It’s not as simple as just changing tires and improving the grip like crazy, a lot of other things would have to be redesigned, like the suspension system for example. I get it that on paper it’s a cool idea but come on the official pole lap at Suzuka in 2004 is 1:33.4 (1:31.7 in 2003). I doubt that a simple tire change can make a 10+ seconds difference and also make the car turn at those speeds. You can run all the assetto corsa simulations you want but it’s just a game with modded content and an outdated physics engine.
