@@mehere8038 yes i know what ableism is. blackface is the act of using makeup to physically paint yourself black, which has nothing to do with ableism. genuinely asking, do you actually know if the girl in the wheelchair was faking needing one or are you just assuming?
@@kaiheartsyou I actually need one, we can tell VERY easily when someone is faking it & this one is! Notice the arm rests on the wheelchair? They cause injuries to arms if self propelling. That's the fastest give away, but additionally
- the balance of the chair is totally wrong, it would cause serious shoulder damage to try to use, plus has no capacity for wheelies, which are an essential part of moving around
- there's no cushion under her & no fitting of the high back chair to provide support, this would mean pressure sores & hospitalisation within weeks
- the chair is the wrong size for her, hence why she is having to hold her legs in the position they are in with her leg muscles & if she can do that, why exactly is she in a wheelchair? (she's holding a bag in her lap with her leg muscles too) The overall fit is completely wrong too, no dump, no angle in any support pieces etc etc
- fold away casters & massive, but with no suspension
-fold up steel chair - I hate to think how much that weighs, certainly WAY too much for self-propulsion!
- no wear of chair
- handles are wrong
- no way to transfer to the toilet (or anywhere else) from it & no potential to remove clothing without falling out of it & clothing doesn't allow for catheterisation without removing
- thin arms, fat legs, no chest muscles
I mean how many problems do you want me to list? It's a $50 wheelchair, designed to take Granny out of the nursing home for a family outing, where Granny will walk & then sit in the chair (hence the fold away casters so Granny can stand in front of it to get in) & be wheeled by someone else so she doesn't have to walk through the park for the family picnic. it is NOT a chair suitable for a disabled person to use & absolutely NO WAY would anyone with any kind of long term injury requiring a wheelchair be using a chair like that! She's as fake as it comes!
Again I repeat, this is simply the disability version of blackface! She has taken a paint roller & plastered black all over her body in what is abundantly obvious to anyone who knows ANYTHING about disability that it is fake & mocking the disabled and she's doing it all to make out that disabled people spend their entire lives thinking about how horrible their lives are & wishing they could be able bodied. She is totally objectifying disabled people & refusing to even acknowledge we exist as anything other than props for her to get laughs from.
There's a similar long standing joke about a Deaf person vacuuming for hours without realising they forgot to turn the power on. That joke relies in able bodied people associating the vacuum cleaner with noise, it has NOTHING to do with Deaf people, just uses them as a prop for able bodied people to laugh at. Deaf people of course would know the vacuum cleaner is not on, cause it's not sucking, not vibrating etc etc. First thing they do on turning it on is test it's suck, so the "joke" is silly & ableist, just like this "joke" about people in wheelchairs only having one wish in life - to be cured. It mocks us & dehumanises us, that's called ableism & clearly you don't know what ableism is if you don't understand that is what you are watching in this video!
I mean how exactly do you think an able bodied person getting a cheap wheelchair that doesn't fit them & sitting in it for a "joke" is not the same as blackface?
As a cat owner, I can confirm that cats clean up water very good

I had my dogs on a long lead, 20m because recall outside was not effective, and I was very careful to not get my legs trapped in it etc. However we were sitting down, I was swopping short for long lead, when she caught sight of a rabbit, and my hand was still touching the rope as I connected it to my belt. I had a second to decide to just let her run or keep trying to connect. I let the rabbit live and grabbed the rope. The friction burns were so gross from it, chunks missing etc. I hate to think what the cowboy's hands would look like without gloves.

Even though I live on the flattest part of Europe possible (the Netherlands), this made me want to immediately travel to a mountain to try it. Don't worry though! The seal isn't experiencing any physicals pain. It's actually very common for seals to make sounds like that in the North because of the frigid weather.

I was shocked to learn a few months ago that seals (yes, the literal doggos of the sea) can actually mimic human speech akin to a parrot or crow.
There was a man in the 1900's that rescued a baby seal, only to have it begin repeating words that he said. There's actually a recording of this online today.
