      Winston,

I'm black and i have to say, perspective is just perspective. He is as balanced and unbiased as one can be. I would say that the first step in moving forward for her, would be to acknowledge the true issues that exist by first checking her own huge bias. Denying the problems and ills that exist and plague a community, is a sure fire way to ensure their continuance.

@@mrt737 - And if you haven't been to South Africa, this might seem a bit either "American leftist" (it isn't though) or just "overly concerned". But this is a South African standard. Even though black people make up a large, very large, majority of the population, there is a lot of rules in place in South Africa to promote discrimination in favour of black people - at the expense of everyone else. This is where mentions of not just white people, but also coloured people comes in. There's actually quite a few news clips, South African ones, from South African mainstream media, where coloured people explain that they were better off, had it better, under Apartheid. Not because Apartheid was good in any way (it wasn't) but because what is now is a travesty and even worse.
I know, it's a long and deep topic to get in to. And at times, even a difficult one.

One brave polish jew escaped from a death camp ,he tried to warn other jews in ghetto them response was not
As he expected he was vilified even threatened by Jewish leaders the reason was simple the truth was too brutal.

My family moved to SA in time to experience the 1980s. Most of the country was third world, and in those days there was the danger of criminals and the police were not to be trusted. They'd burst into people's homes at night. I was regarded by the racialized society as "White", and still I didn't like the security state. So I went about happily enjoying all the amenities that were for us designated "Whites" only.
Jacob Zuma and many corrupt (not Mandela's generation) ANC cadres have poisoned the system. If we rank SA's post-1939 PMs/presidents from *worst to best* tho (for how they affected *everyone's* lives, it's approx: Verwoerd, Malan, Vorster, Strijdom, Botha, Zuma, Mbeki, de Klerk, Ramaphosa, Smuts, Mandela.
(If you're surprised to see Ramaphosa ranked 3rd, he is a deeply decent forward-thinking man, but far too cautious in dealing with the terrible corruption that Zuma entrenched - if Ramaphosa had not been willing to compromise, various corrupt/criminal factions in the ANC would never have allowed him to be elected!)

Roads going nowhere ending in mid-air, buildings that were never quite completed and are filled with criminals, and on and on. 3:39 "We come from a caste system" - you still do, it's just reversed, more violent, far more corrupt and heading to the tribalism found all over Africa, from Nigeria to the tribal genocide in places like Rwanda or Sierra Leone. I travelled across 14 African counties - it's entirely tribal, with violence and a 'caste system' everywhere.
Edit: By the way - I'm Scottish, several hundred years ago, we did the same thing. We had the Clan System (Scottish Tribes) - The MacDonalds slaughtered the Campbels (or the other way around - who cares). It's the same thing - it's human tribal psychology. When people relate it to 'my colour' - they are talking about the big chip on their shoulder, and not what is in front of their nose. If we don't all grow up, and embrace morality (which is colour blind and ignores 'victim hood') this crap will continue forever.

Can't agree more with Winston......the lady, um not so much...sorry!.
Aparteid ended long ago in SA, but, what I found its now become like a "reverse aparteid" with what i believe was even worse than under DeClerk, only the vindictiveness against white people is all craftily covered up by global media is truly disgusting as its not growing or helping SA, but only setting it back further & further.
Last time I visited Joburg in 2004, they had the EXACT same issues & back then criminals were faking emergency calls to deliberately rape paramedics like wtf!.
17 years later after my beautiful SA holiday (where i had visited Joburg, Praetoria, Sun City, Magaliesburg, Monty Casino & their awesome lion/safari parks) the ANC seems to be STILL making the same old bs crap excuses, constantly blaming racism whilst amazingly at the same time constantly turning a blind eye to the cartels constantly running white south african farmers out of SA making them flee to Russia (had it not been for Putin they'd be all dead!) or murdering them...such stinking deep hypocrisy which the ANC constantly ignores.
I find she's also making the very same crap ANC excuses as they were in 2003/2004 when I was in SA & until the ANC finally stops the blame game & gets off its fat posterior in working for ALL South Africans (like it claimed it would do during their "reconciliation" speeches, nothing will ever change in SA.
Visited four ways, sandton, east rand & pff loved Joburg so much & had 2 months of travel withdrawal symptoms when I left because I missed it that much....but Winston is 100000000000% right and I still have friends in Joburg, Durban & CT who tell me same & Winston is 100% on target with everything he says because I saw & see the EXACT same things myselfvwhat people share with me
SA people are mostly awesome & I'd even consider living there myself as the climate, food, beautiful people are such positives (Toto was definitely right about the rains & the beauty of the climate & lands & everyone shoukd visit at least once in their lives!), but, the ANC I'm sorry to say sucks donkey balls & the worlds media is also part of the injustice & who also actively & continually covers up their bs & all my SA friends are genuinely scared at the constant escalation in crime & ANCs complete inability to fix these problems & many had shared with me from friends in Joburg whose SA friends were slaughtered, raped, randsacked & more ranging from babies to very old people & is one of the greatest atrocities which most people have never even heard of, except for gems like Winston!.
I also call bs on her "fake news" claim that this isn't happening in SA still......that's not what i hear & am told about
As I said, IF many "stick their heads in the sand" SA people like this woman & the ANC finally stops this blame game & also 100% wishes to 100% genuinely work with white SA people & 100% drop their ulterior motives to see justices for past wrongs & dismantle the policy of "re-appropriation" aka legalised theft then SA I honestly believe will eventually become the very best country in the world, but, with pigheaded attitudes like this, yet another 17 more years of excuses will pass, yet another stack of good SA people will be murdered or raped & SA will only sink further into the abyss in a never ending spiral.
If the ANC simply cannot do this (or doesn't possess the competency) for SA then I'm sorry for my candidness but they seriously need to gtfo of SA....sorry, that the truth hurts.
As for Julius....why even ANC allows this to occur in SA society also speaks volumes as they cant blame whites for this malakia, like seriously!.
Finally, as an Aussie of Greek descent I really do love SA & wished I could visit again otherwise I'd write nothing about the topic.
Never heard Greek music in a sushi bar, Oh I did in Joburg SA!.
Love bands like Watershed & Craig W Hinds masterpiece "Indigo Girl", love those oranges of theirs watching the cricket at Wanderers stadium, love the SA parties & SA sense of humor (highveld stereo, you know exactly who I mean!), love SA braai, love proper SA biltong, love boerewors & carpaccio bok....pff this is such an injustice to see SA suffer needlesly like this.
SA brought us Elon Musk, the Nikola Tesla of the 21st century & we allow SA to sink like this, still!.
Sending my love and support also to SA UA-camrs ie Winston (goes without saying!), Kurt Kaz & so many more & thanks deeply so much Winston for sharing this as media/journos outside SA say nothing.
      Peace out & stay awesome!

Because it went from shitty to less shitty, hopefully to resolve by 2020. Thus in her heart, she feels the statement made by serpentza isn't fair. Because it doesn't reflect the current situation. And some viewers will just have a prejudice that's based on old info.
Of course, her words used do suggest that she is trying to paint things are great now which isn't accurate either...lol
Yes, she does have some emotion that need to be addressed about the apartheid. It's like the "have nots" vs the "have nots-with opportunity".
Resenting the ones with opportunities equally isn't fair.

"People getting murdered is an issue" Makes it feel like she has a rather big disconnect to what is really happening in her Country of birth..
I would be outraged to see people get killed on a Farm, just because they are far away from the central Police Station. But to her it's "an issue".
So it's strange how she seems to feel that she is more right in her views than Serpentza is in his?

However it will be difficult for him to stay out of politics now that BRICS is becoming mainstream ( I believe it's China, Russia, South Africa, Brazil and perhaps someone else? )
So with each video he uploads, Please keep in mind that he may be thinking to himself that China supports the policies of the government that drove him out of his home, Aslong as he does not mention this perspective, Consider him "Staying out of politics" To a sufficient degree.

Han Onyme, we are a jaded bunch, us humans. Always the victim when it benefits us. :)
I believe the only "privilege" that any population may have over another, is knowledge and drive...
Drive is imparted by the parents, by demanding responsibility for a child's actions and responsibility for their own future. I was taught that if I wanted ANYTHING in life, I shouldn't count on anyone except myself to get it. Work within the confines of the law and be careful what you promise so you can keep your word.
Knowledge is freely available, unlike EVER before in human history. The internet IS the library of Alexandria. With a little drive, you will thirst for knowledge and become successful.
I am privileged in the fact that my parents taught me RESPONSIBILITY... thus a drive for knowledge.

Reach 3D Printers she was listening only to the point of making her point of blaming the past for current political and infrastructure ills.
She is an attractive educated BLACK WOMAN playing the part of a victim no matter what her personal financial economic condition is.
She will raise her future children to be victims of apartheid no matter what their economic condition is as well.
The Whites that remain will always be pointed at as the reason a single black person is failing in society.
If the Whites united to TAKE control the UN would sanction a murderfest against any such group. If a single White community begins to thrive; the ANC followers will terrorize them, kill them, destroy their community.
I know such a family who were terrorized for about 8 days. The Blacks came to their rural farm; raped the woman in front of her husband, made him rape his own wife then after about 6 days he and she was drinking beer with the blacks and everyone was taking turns on the woman. Then; the blacks left. Leaving the everyone alive but the Whites were destroyed as a family. Their 9 year old daughter was forced/ encouraged to watch from day one then she also participate in these sex orgies by day 8.
Now; they screwed and partied to save their lives but that does not go away. The police did nothing as no one was beat up or stabbed or killed. They blamed the White guy for picking the wrong friends. Because he and she and the daughter also spoke Africons so; they lived.
The Woman moved to the US with her daughter leaving her husband and told me all about this with her daughter; now 14 present. The Woman also blamed her husband after the fact.
She was a victim and her daughter will probably grow up to be a victim. They are white but it seems everyone loves to play the roll of the victim. They become entitled to being recognized as the victim.

Hi, Winston, Starting watching your videos half an year ago, you have become my role model of life.
The structure of this conversation is exactly same as one of the conversation between Japanese and neighboring people like Chinese.
I am from Japan and I think that We are only people in the world who can speak for White South African‘s suffering without blaming you guys in racism context, because we are in very similar situation to yours where both we and you are young generation who has been blamed for what happened before or almost before we were born.
White South African are human being like black South African are and have their own suffering in their lives, which should not be ignored for his race, the history and the social situation.
Even in 2018 and 2019, a certain country neighboring to Japan is doing exactly the same as what Zimbabwe did to White Zimbabweans.(Look up with google.)
I have been to South Africa and White South African I met were really nice and made me wonder why such nice people to me could do bad things to other people.
I mean oppressors anywhere are not born to be evil but situation and time surrounding them can make themselves to be both nice and evil.
Then I thought that the world is in the phase where people who used to be oppressed in the past should not blame the next generations whose parents or grand parents used to be oppressors because in the first world, those who used to oppress admit their past faults, apologized at least, tried to change minds not to discriminative to their counterparts to restart a new relationship.
I don’t mean that the past should be ignored and be justified but now is the turn where people whose parents or grand parents used to be oppressed in discriminative and awful way get over the past and history for nice future.
The social problem like wealth gap can be traced back to the history but we have to know that the past history is not a tool to continue blaming somebody from the ethical standpoint that nobody can avoid with today’s sense of humanity.

Also she seems to be a little racist, because you white were you couldn't have possibly struggled? I'm also not sure how she thought you were boasting about your fathers time and how he would have been privileged. The way you were speaking, to me it sounded like you were just trying to make a point. I think she's a little upset that a white person is being critical of South Africa. "You always have your Indian friend, bring him here". What is she talking about?I think you bringing her on, giving her an outlet is a very brave thing. You didn't have to do that. The use of accusations of White Privilege to elicit guilt is a learned power play. If you don't provide any positive basis on which to shame you, your failure to disavow your privilege (or, in this case, the Apartheid system) with sufficient vigor will do nicely.
It was a civil conversation overall, but a pointed one. Rather than simply respond to his earlier statements with facts such as the reduction in power outages, she felt at liberty to bring in neo-marxist dialectics to try to establish moral superiority. Some people do this with aggressive intent, but in her case I think it was a reflexive defense mechanism, to compensate for nervousness or insecurity.

How can she put the blame of infrastructure on Apartheid. All infrastructure was built by the Apartheid Government. Once the ANC came into rule, they stopped infrastructure development and maintenance had no priority while millions of households were being linked up to it. Money disappeared and still does in wasteful expenditure. It took 14 years before we ran out of power. The power crisis which started in 2008 has killed so many industries that SA is using less power today than it did before the power crisis started and we had another power shortage only a few months ago. No new dams were built since 1994 and Cape Town got by for over 20 years. Apartheid was wrong and unfair, but you cannot blame the infrastructure on it.
The ANC government is going out of its way to keep poor people poor so they can blame it on Apartheid and white people.

Not really. Moral relativism is about metaethics, not about not being judgemental about others actions. It just has to do with the origins and nature of goodness and badness.
Like if you believed morality was objective then you would have to prove the origins of morality objectively. Like can you derive morals from nature, or can you derive them like a platonic solid.
Moral relativism would say that morality is structural or morality is utility. That's not to say that structural or utility morals are worthless, but they are not objective and thusly subject to change based on its utility or time.

“I want to have my cake and eat it too.” Then I DO NOT want to accept RESPONSIBILITY if something goes wrong.🙅🏿‍♀️
Is this MORAL RELATIVISM………………………………………………………….or CHILDISHNESS, IMMATURITY, SELF-INTEREST and SELFISHNESS!?🧐
🎓There are two types of practical moral relativism: individual and cultural. Individual moral relativism is the idea that values vary from person to person and each person has their own valid set of morals. There is no concept of correct moral principles; everything is based on what an individual desires.
The problem with individual moral relativism is that it lacks a concept of guiding principles of right or wrong. “One of the points of morality is to guide our lives, tell us what to do, what to desire, what to object to, what character qualities to develop and which ones not to develop,” said Jensen. If morality is already based on personal desire, he continued, there is no way to distance oneself from a situation to find a truly objective moral ground and make a decision based on what is right.
Cultural relativism suggests that a “culture has various standards and those constitute morality.” This viewpoint solves the guidance problem, but also raises the issue that most people identify with several different cultures which could have oppositional values. There is also the issue of tolerance. While thinkers of cultural relativism are clear that it is wrong to impose one’s own cultural values over another, some cultures hold a central value of intolerance.
An example given by Jensen was religious extremist groups. In those cases, groups often have a moral principle of destroying cultures that are different than theirs, thus unseating the notion that cultural relativism is always tolerant. For tolerance to be a true part of cultural relativism, Jensen explained, “tolerance has to be regarded as a universal moral value” which makes it no longer relative.🎓

@@ZacharyBittner How much did you pay to be proud of not understanding a very simple concept?
Moral relativism - Philosophical positions about the differences in moral judgments across peoples and cultures.
You don't even have to look it up in a dictionary. Do you know what morals are? Do you know what relative means? Wow, look at that.
"thusly" lmao. We're all sooooo impressed.
Meta-ethics* is concerned with the nature of ethical theories and moral judgments. It's very broad term in which moral relativism is a proposed answer to one of the many questions derived from meta-ethics.

Wow I live in South Africa and she's a bit mis-informed on the facts. One the murder rate increased 11% since last year, it's crazy violent here (57 murders a day). Eskom the state power agency is going to go bankrupt next year and the Chinese are going to buy it, god knows what that going to happen then. Also if you live in the city infrastructure is good, but if you go to the rural parts most of the municipalities are going bankrupt (I lived in Estcourt, now bankrupt). In terms of privilege and opportunity, I think it's crazy we now allow the marginalization of any group based on the notion of privilege. It's skews the debate into crazy town. You could argue that this lady is privileged in South Africa, 5% of children are orphans and she had a mother. You just start arguing into crazy circles.
But this is the problem; South Africans argue pointlessly in circles one side trying to site facts and the other side making some debate about human right, etc. etc. Meanwhile no jobs, no water, no power, government stealing, government going bankrupt. Then they point fingers because solving problems requires work and effort and South Africans are lazy so it's easier to pass the blame than fix things which require action.
Serpent you weren't being 100% sensationalist maybe only 50%. I think if were fair the future elections are the EFF's to lose. not saying they will win 2019 but the future is theirs for the taking.

The chinese generally structure a lot of these things as debt, for example countries like Zamiba have gone into massive debt defaulted on that debt from the Chinese (Also for power stations). Then randomly give up bits of the country... the long term economic effects are not always positive, but I hope for the best

When I get a loan from a bank and fail to pay them for my mortgage, the bank takes my house. That's because I failed to pay the bank. I fail to see why countries defaulting on their repayments from loans that they've willingly took somehow makes China the big bad scary wolf. This is just business as usual.
