This was my last day in Disneyland , have a year pass last year it will be expired soon . Maybe next year I should ask my parents to go to Disneyworld on mi birthday.
One time I was stood next to a few people on the elevator part in the beginning. When the TV turned off someone looked to their friend and said, "Well, that was a short ride."
I remember right after we were all seated, the cast member said “and one more thing…” he paused, gave a sinister smile, then said “I don’t work here” as the elevator doors closed
Mine said “you should’ve taken the stairs..” and the second time “y’all look worried! Don’t worry, it’s only like a 99% chance you actually die. Hold on to that 1%! Bye!
Mine said “Don’t worry I don’t work here so I don’t know what to do all I know rooms are on the 13th floor hold on tight and one more thing enjoy the”-Doors closed
I was on once. Right before the elevator doors closed he said "I don't get paid if you die. Please just don't die." I have never heard anything besides "enjoy your stay" ever again.
There's a certain cast member at that ride named cliff and I love him cuz he'll walk up to you and say "are you scared?" And he'll say "you should be, you're standing next to a cliff!" It's so funny 😂
+JasmineRachelle22 When I went on the ride, the member asked if there were any couples on the ride. two people raised their hands. then he said this poem. "Roses are red. Violets are blue. I'm taking the stairs. You should have to." and then he closed the doors.
When the ride was over and the doors came open, the guy was standing in front of that small metal door that closes our elevator with only the upper quarter of his torso and up visible. He said that the ride had malfunctioned and didn't lower all the way, and that we would be helped off the ride shortly. Then the metal door opened and we saw him kneeling on the ground and everyone started laughing.
The scariest part of this ride is probably waiting in line cause you get all freaked out and netvous put when you actually get on, it's still freaky but fun!
That’s the point. If you notice that the plants and other elements of the cue are more and more dead looking the more you go into it. Disney is real good at setting up atmosphere
Maya Bleszinski Status update, they're defacing the entire upper half of the Tower Hotel already and covered the Left side of the tower above shafts A and B with a cloth. Stupid imagineer vandals along with Disney finally start to get their way!

This wasn’t just a ride, this was a whole experience!!! It had the atmosphere, the build up, the storyline... it gives me anxiety just thinking about it. Very well made and so unique, so cool... I’ve actually had nightmares of being on an elevator opening on the wrong floor, a haunted floor like that, and I fear of elevators in general. I wonder if it’s because I went on this ride as a kid 😂
if the guardians of the galaxy ride is supposed to be anything like Star Tours, I will be disappointed. i hope they keep the mechanics of the tower of terror. :P
As much as this ride scared the hell out of me when I went on it, it made SO much more sense in California Adventure than Guardians of the Galaxy. It was timeless, REALLY well desgined and executed, and it fit the theme of the park perfectly.
So I have a huge trick that will help everyone who fears the tower of terror; when you're about the drop breathe in deep, than as you're going down breathe out slowly. I swear I can't feel I thing! It helps me every time.
Lol when I was like 8 I rode this, and the seatbelts things weren't tight on me, I knew it seemed weird but I figured it was part of the ride, and when we dropped I lifted like a foot or two out of my chair and thought I was gonna fly out and had a seizure lmaooo...I think I was just the unlucky one with the loose seatbelts because everyone stayed tight in their seat and i think when I realized that is the reason i freaked out so much.
Watching this again brought back such a great feeling. Even though its just a video, watching this brought back that same anxiety and anticipation I felt as a child. I remember still being scared to ride it. It was such a unique feeling to me and for these few fleeting moments, I felt like that same child once again. i truly miss this ride.
It’s fun because of the ride experience itself. Drop towers will always be fun, especially ones where you go up and down so many times. They did a good job too with the high-energy action of Guardians of the Galaxy. Even though The Twilight Zone is my favorite show of all time, I think it was a worthy replacement. Besides, they left the better ride experience as The Twilight Zone in Florida!
@@bigships i am from orlando. i think florida should renovate drop sequences because they are so off now. corridor scene, serling narration,5th dimension and ending should stay the same but the drop profiles should be updated.
I love the brief feeling of floating and then plummeting down like 50 feet. The ride itself at WDW is 195 feet tall. Does anyone know how tall the actual big drop in the middle of the ride is. It felt like around 50-100 feet
Seriously??? I didn't know there was a full all the way down drop. I thought it went about half way down and then went back up to the top!!! I never noticed a full 150 foot drop! (I went to Orlando)
I remember going on this ride for the first time. I had no idea what to expect and just thought it would be a generic haunted house ride. You can imagine my shock when that first drop hit; it was terrifying but so awesome at the same time.
cant believe they're taking out this ICONIC RIDE and replacing it with a MARVEL RIDE FOR ADVERTIZEMENT FOR THE UPCOMING GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY SEQUEL. LIKE WTF DISNEY
Florida's (much better) version will remain in operation. Hell, when this version first opened, people panned it because it wasn't as good. Still, I'll acknowledge the new overlay has a chance to go both ways. It could end up taking a fun new angle on the ride system and be like Tokyo's Tower of Terror, or they could completely butcher it like Rocket Rods or Stitch's Great Escape.
AA610 It honestly doesn’t matter how much better the Orlando one is. The thing that matters is that it fit California Adventure so well. Being in the distance of Buena Vista Street, and being called The Hollywood Tower fits so fucking perfectly. Also, the anticipation that is built on this ride is so much better than Guardians Of The Galaxy: Mission Breakout. The GotG ride doesn’t even make you scared of dropping. It’s nothing but fluffy Disney nonsense. It’s still a fun ride, but seeing this footage again really makes me recall why I was mad about this change in the first place.
+Jacob christopher Just at Paris and Hollywood Studios. The only way it'll go back is if people hate Guardians of the Galaxy and demand that it return to Tower of Terror.
Me and my Bestfriend can probably say every line of that video in the library part, we've been in this ride so much times. My favorite part is the "Wave good-bye to the real world" and "that door is opening once again...but this time it's opening for you"
So glad this is on film! It was the only ride at Disneyland that always genuinely scared me, and I got that creepy crawly feeling again just watching it on youtube. Thanks for sharing!
I went on this when I was 13. And I loved it, but when I got older it got old for me personally because it was just the same thing whenever I went to DCA
Thank you soo much for recording this. It was by far my favorite ride in Disneyland. I'm so sad this went away, I know Disneyworld has one but I'm sorry its not the same.
The dude that was there asked if this was anyone's first time and when a girl raised her hand he was like: "I'm so sorry for you're loss." and after the ride he said: "Thanks for dropping in. Hope you weren't let down." Never ending puns! XD
After riding the new GOTG ride, i had to find a tower of terror POV to confirm my suspicion. The new ride FEELS like it is longer ride and includes more drops. It's actually shorter! But it feels longer because it is faster and harder. I had jitters for 10 minutes after the ride. Original Tower or Terror never excited me that much, and much like the twighlight zone, i haven't watched GOTG. I have no stake in either franchise, but the GOTG edition is a knock out! The pre-ride experience was a lot more fun than just waiting in a room and receiving a video exposition dump, and the "hand scan gag" which forces you to raise your hands before the first drop, made it a lot of fun.
Really sad this is gone. I mean, I do love the Guardians of the Galaxy (a lot) but I love the more intense, creepier atmosphere of this. At least it’s still in Walt Disney World

Walt probably wouldn't have been happy with them licensing the Twilight Zone theme to begin with! As much as I loved Tower of Terror, can we stop using the "what Walt would have wanted" argument when it just doesn't apply?

Man, I wish I could take my kids on this exact ride. Alas, the Disney world version is not nearly as intense as this awesomeness! I remember being wowed and freaked out that my own reflection disappeared! And that part where you’re watching the elevator in the starry sky, and it drops, and then you suddenly drop! Sooooooo good! It was amazing! Perfection! I don’t know why Disney World did it differently!
I was always too scared to ride this all of the other times I went to California Adventure, so I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for my next trip now lol
i didn't realize that people liked this version over the guardians of the galaxy more lol. i liked this ride a lot, but i know next to nothing about the twilight zone because im an uncultured zoomer, but i really like the guardians version more! i think that this one freaks people out (as it's designed to) to hype them up, but i really enjoy the buildup to the ride on the guardians version. might just be because i really really like guardians, but who knows
4 parks. Although they're not exactly the same. It's at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida, Disney California Adventure in California, Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris, and Tokyo DisneySea in Tokyo. The one in Tokyo doesn't use the Twilight Zone theme though.
+Emily Evans Yes there is one in Orlando and it is the best Tower of Terror of them all since it is the only one where the elevator actually moves forward through a track that leads to the front of the tower where it drops.
I'm still in chock they changed it. This was my favorite ride in the whole park, maybe even Disneyland too, and my second favorite was ca screaming, and they sort of changed it too. Disney didn't you learn to stop while you're ahead!
I will NEVER forget seeing this when i was in Disney world in Orlando Florida. I went on a trip to Florida in May of 2000 and i saw an advertisement in my hotel room showing the tower of terror. They showed the ride and at the end the guy was like, "Twilight zone tower of terror. YOU WILL FEEL EVERY DROP" LMFAO I got so freaked out over that lol
I am personally glad this was changed, because I remember the twilight zone theme haunting me in my sleep. With 70s and 80s music instead, my mind can sleep.
I DIDNT want to go on it a while ago when I had a pass like three years ago when I was right but now I got a pass and I want to go on it so bad.. now it's closing down stupid guardians of the galaxy hideous movie
Arisha Redfield i was always too scared. And then it turned into Guardians of The Galaxy, so I rode it. And I was still terrified and screaming the whole time lol.
Why would they make a stupid marvel ride at of this? Couldn't they just find another spot for it besides getting rid of one of the cool rides? It won't even match California Adventure.
I went on this ride over and over again back in 2004 when it first opened, when I was 9. It is by far my favorite amusement park ride of all time. It was such a cool experience and it was different every time since the elevator's drop pattern is randomly generated!
It was always a bit weird for me to go into the Tower of Terror and watch the intro to the Twilight Zone, considering I watch Twilight Zone regularly and see this intro every week when I marathon it on Netflix.
i always felt butterflies walking through the lobby with the cobwebs. the most terrifying part was the anticipation of the fall. i was scared to ride elevators after my first time riding. and now it’s gone... i adore marvel but i really want to ride the old version
Funny how the last time I visited California Adventure, they had just released this ride. Now they've already changed it! Hard to believe it's been that long.
Zackary Reeds, no. They don't plan to tear it down. They are planning to remodel it to a stupid Guardians of the Galaxy themed. I freakin love this ride.
I've never been on the this particular version however, I've been on the WDW version quite a few times. I must say this version (due to California's laws concerning earthquakes and building codes, also from the looks of it after watching this) unfortunately just doesn't seem to be as thrilling as the Florida counterpart. Not as tall and the elevator doesn't pass through the 5th dimension as it does in WDW. And to be honest the building itself isn't as cool looking. Still, last time I was at Disneyland was before California Adventure was opened, I would love to go and check it out and get a real comparison!
The building at California Adventure is smaller, but the elevator shafts are both thirteen stories Robert Petrino . The building at Disney World was built to match the theme of Epcot's Moroccan Pavilion, since it is visible from that park. I think both rides are great in their own ways. Disney World has better mechanical specs, and California Adventure has better special effects in my opinion.
Casey Arellano I would agree, the FX on the Disneyland version are really fantastic, and I don't miss the 5th dimension at all, it never really impressed me to begin with. Both are impressive, just in different ways, but I think the simplicity and clarity of story win out in the Disneyland version.
The air time on this ride is incredible. I honestly like it better than other drop rides (lex luthor drop of doom, big boomer or whatever you call it in California adventure that closed down). But yeah, freakin amazing feeling.

That's why I go to Disneyland.
At least Florida's tower is still active. Not to mention it was the first one.
manuel cruz that is the only reason i go to Disneyland
manuel cruz besides space mountain
Man, I wish I could take my kids on this exact ride. Alas, the Disney world version is not nearly as intense as this awesomeness! I remember being wowed and freaked out that my own reflection disappeared! And that part where you’re watching the elevator in the starry sky, and it drops, and then you suddenly drop! Sooooooo good! It was amazing! Perfection! I don’t know why Disney World did it differently!
I was always too scared to ride this all of the other times I went to California Adventure, so I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for my next trip now lol
not even scary for me... space mountain isnt even scary too
it's not scary at all I went when I was 3 and thought it was a blast.
this ride is not scary at all. i went there when i was 14 years old. not scary at all.
I wouldnt go on until I was 12 lmao
@@deadlykilla39 congratulations
Wow I remember being terrified but in tears because I grew up watching the twilight zone and it was beautifully done. I’m sad they replaced it 🥺
just rode guardians of the galaxy yesterday but it reminded me of how much i miss this version 🥺

@@AericaXOXO yes yes yes omg follow me @everytimevisuai
i went on saturday :/ i miss the spookiness
So nostalgic thank you! Haven’t been to Disney in 10 years. Makes me sad that this is gone but happy that I can still enjoy the feeling of it
That waving guy was me, Mastnaer Ceef. (gt on Xbox Live.)
Tami Hanan lol
I'm glad I went on this before the remodel!
man i remember i was scared shitless of this ride when i was five. lmao now i dont even know why😂
i didn't realize that people liked this version over the guardians of the galaxy more lol. i liked this ride a lot, but i know next to nothing about the twilight zone because im an uncultured zoomer, but i really like the guardians version more! i think that this one freaks people out (as it's designed to) to hype them up, but i really enjoy the buildup to the ride on the guardians version. might just be because i really really like guardians, but who knows
This same ride is in 3 different parks wow
Holy shit well thanks keep being awesome!
The Ride Expert Dude, it maybe because of the twilight sparkle joke, but if it's not that, I don't know the reason
+Sharp Productions Is there one at Orlando Studios?
+Emily Evans Yes there is one in Orlando and it is the best Tower of Terror of them all since it is the only one where the elevator actually moves forward through a track that leads to the front of the tower where it drops.
This made me so happy I haven’t been there in 13 years
3:13 “shut. up.” Lmaooo
this is the best setup for a ride I love it always gives me chills I love this ride
YOU WILL FEEL EVERY DROP" LMFAO I got so freaked out over that lol
i will never forgive disneyland for changing this ride.
Tower of terror is iconic but I also love gaurdians such a fun ride
I am personally glad this was changed, because I remember the twilight zone theme haunting me in my sleep. With 70s and 80s music instead, my mind can sleep.
and this was one ride i was to big of a wimp to ride :\
i thought it was like really bad drops and stops
i would have liked this ride :(
Aww
I didn't want to but I just got on and didn't think and I loved iy
Danielle, I am the same with Space Mountain. I went on it once and I almost cried. It was just way too fast for me.
I miss this ride so much, Mission breakout will never top this for me
Why would they make a stupid marvel ride at of this? Couldn't they just find another spot for it besides getting rid of one of the cool rides? It won't even match California Adventure.
That’s cool how they changed the hotel in the pre show to look the hotel in the park instead of the one at Disney world
“Wave goodbye to the real world.”
Wave goodbye to your attraction first.
The editing for Rod Serling's voice over is amazing. You can't even tell it isn't him!
I wish I could've gotten to known the Tower of Terror.
Going on Thursday and Friday can't wait to ride everything.
RIP Tower of Terror in DCA
Just like I remember it, expect I went on that ride in the day time. The hotel looks so beautiful.
DISNEYLAND IS FRICKI'N AWESOME!!!!
YAY DISNEYLAND RULES
Thanks for your review on are park
Wave goodbye to the real world
Everybody: *waves in :D*
They now want to change tower of terror into a marvel ride... Ugh.
They are probably not, but if they do, there stupid
+Ryan Rios No they are not. The people who made up that rumor did so just to get attention.
ikr I don't want them to!
+Dave Cataldo OH THANK GOD
What I heard was that the 'tower of terror' idea will still be there, but it wont be twlight zone because they lost the lease to the twilight zone.
How did you get away with filming?
Disneyland have no rules of No Filming of every ride. You can film anytime at Disneyland.
You can film anything, anywhere. You just can't take a photograph in the Haunted Mansion, you'll scare the spirits away.
@@xurbition dude, y e s
youre thinking of flash photography
It’s Hollywood! Of course there’s flash photography
I went on it. It was AWSOME. I love when it drops you very fast
went on this ride for my grad nite in may and I immediately regretted my decision to go on it at 2 in the morning.
Funny how the last time I visited California Adventure, they had just released this ride. Now they've already changed it! Hard to believe it's been that long.
sad news is they plan to tear down this beautiful ride ;_;
Zackary Reeds, no. They don't plan to tear it down. They are planning to remodel it to a stupid Guardians of the Galaxy themed. I freakin love this ride.
I rode this version one last time yesterday. It will always have a place in my heart
Pause at 0:29
What?
beastorc55 The guy standing in front of the animal statue
Taylor Flower lol Maleficent!
TheHaloRed IKR
I laughed so hard!!!
I’m going next week I’m scared to go on this one!!!
That ride is gone, but only the theme is what’s gone that is.
The Florida ride may be much better, but I definitely prefer the exterior look of the California hotel over the Florida one
My god,I really wanna ride The Tower Of Terror ;A; it looks awesome!!
I rode it yesterday it was scary
Story was interesting
Fun a bit
I went on that soooo scary!
The air time on this ride is incredible. I honestly like it better than other drop rides (lex luthor drop of doom, big boomer or whatever you call it in California adventure that closed down). But yeah, freakin amazing feeling.
