the introduction to Todd is it's kinda genius. he seems like just some likable young man and even makes you worry for him for a second when the train starts moving and then the episode ends with him doing something unthinkable.

Like, his ice cream thing in BB was a hint, but the whole pizza thing (starting with the maid's murder) made it explicitly clear how little regard he has towards human life while remaining a very pleasant person. It's horrifying.

This is the first episode I saw when I resumed watching the show after a few years, and the first time I'd ever seen Bill Burr on it. I actually think I first saw the show at the end of 2008 or the beginning of 2009, which was a tremendously significant time for me, unfortunately for the worst possible reasons due to what was soon to come.
They could have just told the kid they are doing construction work on the train and that's all the kid didn't know what was happening and probably woukd not have mentioned it to anyone and even if he did he would have just told people he saw construction workers get a train fixed

Primate, I have to respectfully disagree that Walt's Insistence on getting the correct amount was about ego. Almost every other thing in the show is about his ego, mind you. However, in this particular case, I believe he was giving his all, to execute the exact plan that Jesse had come up with. If they had cut it off, before the correct moment, the measurements wouldn't have been correct, and people on the receiving end would have known that they had been robbed. The ending hits hard. There are so many moments from BB that you remember for a long time. The ending of this episode is one of them.

Primate, I have to respectfully disagree that Walt's Insistence on getting the correct amount was about ego. Almost every other thing in the show is about his ego, mind you. However, in this particular case, I believe he was giving his all, to execute the exact plan that Jesse had come up with. If they had cut it off, before the correct moment, the measurements wouldn't have been correct, and people on the receiving end would have known that they had been robbed.
Okay, it was about his ego, I know what happens next. (You all know exactly what I'm talking about. ) 😎
