Enjoyed the suggestions. I am in Boulder county so things you suggest will work here as well. I am just learning about gardening and this year I tried to do all Xeric type plants but I lost a lot of them so far. Maybe from over watering to establish them or maybe because of being put in spots that were only afternoon sun but it was a learning step although a costly one.. It would be helpful to know which plants are low maintenance and are Xeric for our area
The time of year that you plant is really important too. Fall is an excellent time to plant perennials. You do have to make sure you still water them after you turn off your sprinkler system.
Thank you for the tips...was hoping you would speak on what soil and fertilizer is best for these plants you showcased! I've tried Hosta's we we first moved into our home in Westminster but didn't survive!! Maybe the plants were struggling when I purchased them! Have a great day.
Soils and fertilizers are great topics for a future video. Perhaps you can try planting hostas again in the fall. It will give the roots time to establish before the heat of summer. Thanks for watching.
Here is something to know about Angel Wing Begonias: in the Summer, put them outside in a shady area. Then bring them inside for Fall and Winter, but keep them in a sunny location. They will bloom all year long. Good luck!
Great info on a nice variety of plants. 👍
Thanks for watching!

I didn't realize Hosta's would stand Colorado winters...any particular verity you would suggest for me to try?
@@Anita-ol4hf The only hosta I have failed with is the variety that has mostly white leaves. All the others do well, until rabbits get them.
