  • I bought a 1925 Holton alto saxophone on Ebay and did a complete overhaul. This is the first stage in which I made a few repairs and assess what needs work.

Fun! Very cool that you are keeping something created so long ago alive. Bravo!

Recently bought a 1927 Martin Handcraft tenor sax that I'm in the midst of overhauling. Documenting with video also. I also own a 1935 Holton trumpet and a 1935 Silvertone classical guitar with original case. Found it in playable condition in a junk store for $60!

@@HackaweekTV Can't wait to see that! Wow, sixty bucks for a '35 Silvertone is a steal!

Impressive that you found the leaks in the tone holes so quickly. Well done.

Much obliged for the video. Long shot, I’m overhauling a Holton Alto from 1925. I’ve worked in a sax repair shop but not the repair side. I’ve got the pads done but I’m having an issue with springs. Some were missing or broken and I’m trying to find hole sizes. If you have a list great. If not maybe you know what size the top three spring sizes are. I’ve bought the generic packages put it’s a hit and a miss. My next move would be to find a gauge to see what those sizes would be. Just have not looked for that tool yet. Much obliged for any help.

I found a vintage saxophone in an abandoned collapsed building. Where can I send it to be restored

I'm afraid i might catch the bug myself, hehehe Thanks to your video! so i blame you hahaha JK. i just bought a King H.N white, what i think is alto low tone saxophone serial number seems to date it 1915-1916, its a little bagged up and will need lots of love, but it was cheap so, anyways haha, my question is, what tools do you recommend for pulling out dens and what not? and there are missing brass parts... should i try to mask the repairs best i can or make them apparent incase i decide to sell it one day?

Do you have a spare Hüller Alto saxophone neck with microtuner and mouthpiece and ligature and cover for sale or know where I can find those items?

That's not a serial number. It should be on the bell and be 6 or 7 digits long.
