- Here I demonstrate how I place oversized rods on a Selmer BA with a lot of play in the keywork. For me this is the only way to solve this permanently.

Old saxophones are exactly like old WWII aircraft. Over the years, stress and pressure on the metals have destroyed every operating mechanism on the saxophone. I love the Mark VI but the problems with most of them far outweigh the pleasure of playing one. I sold my old 6 for a Reference 54 alto. Best musical decision I made. I have 3 new Selmers-All have the Super Action springs in the rods. The bodies and the bows are perfect and the intonations are spot-on. New horns just “Work”!

Really nice work and nice video. What are you doing with the Plier number 5 on last sequence around 9:20? Extending the rod?
Thanks! Well the plier can extend the key tube a bit. But here i was just making the key a little bit tighter around the rod
