Since you've reacted to Cruel Intentions (based on the 1782 French play "Les Liaisons Dangereuses") and now Clueless (based on Jane Austen's "Emma") maybe you could continue with other teen movies based on classic literature?
Some ideas...Easy A based on The Scarlet Letter, 10 Things I Hate About You based on Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, Valley Girl based on Romeo and Juliet, Warm Bodies also based on Romeo and Juliet, She's All That based on Pygmallion...

I love the trend of adapting classic novels/plays as modern movies and I'm kind of sad that seems to have disappeared. For other great ones of the trend: 10 Things I Hate About You, Cruel Intentions, and of course She's the Man
Also knowing that it's an adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma explains some of plot, especially the photo Elton puts up in his locker - in the novel, Emma (Cher) takes days or weeks to paint a portrait of Harriet (Tai) which Elton then obsesses over, which just doesn't quite translate to photography :D

Clueless is a modern adaptation of the book "Emma" by Jane Austin, even if her work is usually consider "serious" I found the book comedic and quiet like social critique of the high rich class.
So for that reason, they are pretty much the same movie but I would recommend you to watch "Emma" 2020 version that is set in 1800s and the custom design is beautiful and the cinematography is also georgeous.

It's very 90s because the writers took the time to go to American high schools to listen to how kids were actually talking. The language isn't treated as some 'ah ha!' moment either. It's just the way they talk. Then the costume designer mixed on trend clothing of the day from Contempo Casuals, Wet Seal, or Delia's with very exclusive French and Italian designers (things someone in Cher's position would have access to). So Cher is very fashionable while also looking very timeless. The white Calvin Klein dress, the red and black check coat and skirt w/ the black stockings and beret, even the pink satin bridesmaid dress at the end; you could wear all those tomorrow and probably get a ton of compliments.
Side note: I saw this in the theater and I asked my teacher mother if the grades thing was legit. She said "if you can truly convince a teacher to give you an A instead of a C, that's the grade you earned."

As a parent I can translate, "WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A NICE FAMILY DINNER!" is parent speak for, "I'd like a nice family dinner without any issues and urgently."
But it can be easily confused with, "Im f***ing hungry, do as your told and let me eat!"
    I hope I helped.

Yes- everyone significant in the movie is clueless at some point in their own parts of the story. Except her dad.
The introduction of Tai shows the culture shock of Tai being from the East coast when Tai asks for herbal refreshements- or ouid, but Cher and Dionne think she means literal tea. So they offer the Coke- as in soda, while Tai thinks they mean as in the drug. She figures out it's not when they tell her not to get in with the stoner kids and do ouid all day. The part where she says "Sh!t, you guys, I never had straight friends before!" and Cher and Dionne look at each other confused was because in California straight meant sexuality, but Tai means "Straight-edge" or "doesn't use drugs/alcohol". Christian probably just thought he would be the gay best friend of one of the most popular girls.
Clueless, Legally Blonde, Where the Heart Is, and Fried Green Tomatoes are on my "always rewatch" list that give me the same nostalgia. Some (sorta) time-travel-ish movies to watch that are from that same era are Pleasantville and Blast from the Past.
I see someone else mentions The Craft- if you want the spooky movies us goths watched over and over from that area it would be The Craft, The Crow, and Interview With the Vampire.

After watching the reaction: I don’t think it’s *just* fun and nothing deeper, but I know what you mean in that it is what it is. To me, that’s a sign of how creative and clever it is. The way it adapted Emma is so funny. XD
One could definitely critique the portrayal of Dionne’s romance, but I think, like with Cher and Tai’s reconciliation, their relationship was fundamentally quite strong. Beneath the drama, they cared about and admired each other. And both Tai and Cher were pretty sweet people who relied on one another to a degree. Like you said, it was realistic in that sense. Great reaction!

Not a teen movie recommendation, but TV show set in high school: Freaks and Geeks. It's only one season, a ton of cast members are recognizable now, and it's really good. Paul Feig and Judd Apatow were the main creative forces behind it.

Hey Cass! Loved your reaction, as always!
A few important teen films you may not have seen (and non-spoiler comments about them):
Metropolitan - If you consider 18, home from first semester of college to be a “teen” film, this is arguably the best of all time. But it is somewhat niche. It is more like a play than a traditional film. Made by iconic filmmaker Whit Stillman.
Risky Business - The film that propelled Tom Cruise to stardom.
Pump Up The Volume - The teen film, made in 1989 and released in 1990, that signaled the end of the 80s and beginning of something new. One leg firmly in each decade. Starring 80s/90s icon Christian Slater.
Easy A - Emma Stone being awesome for 100 minutes.
Superbad - must-watch classic, though you’ve probably already seen it.
Booksmart - completely derivative of Superbad, but also excellent. Definitely worth seeing.

Both are based on centuries old novels! I don’t think that’s a coincidence so much as how they adapted the relationships to “modern day.” You know how people are marrying or dating their cousins or family friend who’s decades older than they are in those things? Lol.

I'm going to add a movie to your list: "Valley Girl" (1982). Nicolas Cage's film debut and a super fun 80s teen romantic comedy. Like "Clueless", "Valley Girl" was directed by a female director, Martha Coolidge. For me, it's Valley Girl for 80s, Clueless for 90s and Mean Girls for 2000s.

That reaction was fantastic. "Dr. Seuss" girl hairdo wasn't exactly common, but it was sort of a trickling down into the mainstream of what had been a sort of retro-edgy look, starting with The B-52s and by the 90s, it had mutated into......that sort of look! That was my favorite part of the reaction, your reaction to Dr. Seuss girl! And also your opinion on what makes a great screen kiss! Great revisiting this movie with you, as it always is. So happy you to have found your channel. One of the first reactors I ever discovered.

From last year? it's only 9 episodes, it's mindblowing, I think you would do great on that show! Ok, checking out this "Clueless" reaction now. I have such a great memory of seeing this in the theatre, I had just broken up with someone and went to the movies and saw three movies in one day! lol. And "Clueless" was the first. It was at the $3 movie theatre in Manhattan (now closed!). GREAT to see you, Cass!!!!!!!

Cass, this was Alicia's major break out roles as before this she appeared in a episode of "The Wonder Years" in 1992, two TV films and a feature film in 1993 called "Torch Song", "Scattered Dreams" & "The Crush", a episode of "Rebel Highway" in 1994 as well as a TV filmed called "Cool and the Crazy", before staring in "Hideaway" followed by "Clueless" in 1995.

The opening with the computer program for matching clothes is still iconic for me. I think I still have the VHS too. lol Oh, and Clueless was also made into a show right after so there was eventually more Dee and Murray.
I love when people find out Paul Rudd is in this. 😂A lot of people always just connect him as starting out in the early 00s in 40 Year Old Virgin or being Ant-Man but he's been in the game since the 90s. Besides Clueless, he also had lead roles in two other movies I watched all time in the 90s: The Object of My Affection with Jennifer Aniston and Overnight Delivery with Reese Witherspoon.

I LOVE this movie. It was such a neat thing to make the rich glamorous girl a great person. And it wasn't even a change story. She was a good person all along. Even though she was into clothes, fashion, etc. she wasn't completely shallow. Even though she set out to make Mr Hall happy to losen him up on her grade, she was actually wanting to make people happy.
