Well-done video, Bourkey! The editing, memes and script were all greatly implemented ^^ 5:42 - The Ishimura was on an _illegal_ mining mission. Cpt. Mathias wanted to obtain Marker 3A and bring it back to Earth (because he was a devout Unitologist driven insane), and that Marker was why Aegis VII's entire system was closed off. Aegis VII itself had a massive motherlode of resources, so the C.E.C. wouldn't.... just... leave it alone. They needed a skilled, small team to quickly travel in-and-out of there to check on things and restore the ship's communications... 20:30 - 😂🤣🤣 All-in-all, this was a really good video; I enjoyed it. Dead Space 1 has aged like a fine wine and you explained it perfectly. (I can't wait to see how the Remake handles things; it'll definitely be a unique/different interpretation of the original, but I think the EA Motive Studio team will do amazing.) Your Astrophobia video was awesome btw! I'll check out your other videos soon. Thanks for reading!!
Im doing a marathon of your vids. Incredible job on each one. Im digging your style to narrate horror in general, with some jokes once in a while. Please keep it up!
Your retrospectives or explorations of horror, and such (still exploring your channel) are very compelling to watch and listen to. Unlike some other (still great) channels you speak your points succinctly. Some channels like yours try to make themselves spooky. Their voice tone, or cadence, overdone music, etc. I like when channels explore their own creativity and such, but when it slows the video down or makes your points seem like melodramatic reflections I get bored quickly. To each their own. All that to say is that your videos are very fun to listen to and watch my friend! Look forward to more. :D
Would be interessting what you think of The Evil Within 2 (not the first so much, that was undercooked in my opinion) But TEW2 is so much like Dead Space while avoiding most of its mistakes, I thogoughly enjoyed it. The sound design and body horror, man it's straight up something else...
Do you think we'll ever see a good screen adaptation of any of H.P. Lovecraft's works and if we ever do, what would be one that you'd want to see (assuming you know of his work)? Also, great vid as always. The comedic breaks weren't over used and well timed, the pacing was good and I thought it was a well researched and well presented analysis.
Thanks to the algorithm for not notifying me of this comment. I’m a huge Lovecraft fan, but I’m a very picky one. I’ve read a lot into the lovecraft mythos and I find that media depicting his work or using it as inspiration doesn’t fully grasp what makes Lovecraft’s writing so terrifying. Especially with games, they tend to commit the cardinal sin of Lovecraft, that being the entities in question, CANNOT BE DEFEATED. No matter what you do these cosmic elder gods are effectively immortal and will continue to torment humanity for years to come. As soon as an adaptation comes along that fully grasps that, it’s already half of the way there. As for his specific works, I’d love to see a film that depicts Nyarlathotep, I make it no secret that he’s my favorite in all the mythos. A much deserved thanks to you too, I appreciate any feedback I get and I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Both types of horror have their possitives. And maybe they both can be mixed together to not only have horrifying agressive and violent monster with also the psychological fear in them.
this game is one of my biggest regrets of my gamer life. idk why, but i didn't wanted to play the game even if i always loved the gothic, sci-fi, and violent universes. perhaps because i didn't wanted any nightmares. i only lately played this game (as well as DS2, which is also an amazing sequel too which mostly keep that chilling atmosphere with brio but i never played the third) . i wish i would play it at the time of its release, although i played before DS Extraction on Wii as my firsdt DS game, i guess it's finally more satisfying to play the prequel first before the first main game, which followed it right after chronologically . DS series has such a fascinating and cool universe too. it reminds me of amazing movies like Event Horizon for the paranoia, hallucinations effect aswell as some ship designs (actually the only good movie of film director Paul Anderson, with the first Resident Evil and Motal kombat movies, as well as Soldier) and Carpenter's The Thing for the Necromorphs themselves. fortunately , it's wasn't too late for me to play it, and let's hope the remake will give it justice
dead space is brilliant. they can stick their remake. look what they did to the ppl who actually made it in the first place - now those same ppl who screwed the creators gonna remake? gtfo.
I personally love the level design because of the oppressive atmosphere. The constant tight hallways and spaces force you into really uncomfortable situations, but in a good way lol.
This channel is gonna grow. Loved your low poly video!
DS1 & 2 are masterworks through and through, cannot wait for Callisto Protocol and DS Remake

This video was great, i can definitely see the time and effort you put into it. Great job! 🙂
I played it 6 years after it came out for the first time, an all time favorite for sure. Good video! It's criminal you don't have more subs.
the evil within is an awesome horror game. a must for the genre.

Really digging the horror analyses! Good mix of entertaining and informing, keep it up man :]

Very much appreciated, lots of projects in the work as we speak :)

Excellent work, that Low Poly video brought me here the other day.
I wish I still had my ps3 with PT on it.... that game hands down scared the shit right out of me.
waiting for the amnesia video
Deserves way more views

I had so much fun playing Dead space 3. I'm surprised you didn't like that one.
yo dude, what say you about ds4 having issac use a planet cracker as a weapon against the moons
That sounds like an amazing, precarious-af idea
dead space is brilliant. they can stick their remake. look what they did to the ppl who actually made it in the first place - now those same ppl who screwed the creators gonna remake? gtfo.
People don't like dead space level design?
I can see why they do but personally I love the way the Ishimura is laid out, even though it's a bit linear
@@bourkey1567 you'd think more people would realize it was designed this way because horror game XD
I personally love the level design because of the oppressive atmosphere. The constant tight hallways and spaces force you into really uncomfortable situations, but in a good way lol.
