you only need enough oil to show up on the stick about 1/4 of a quart. Now clean the spark plug with gass and then dry it well next take the air filter out and clean it by rinsing it with gas and then put 1/2 an oz of oil in the filter and wring it out and re install.
Hey Terry, hoping you can help me. I bought a semi-new bike that's been sitting around. It has the 142 4-stroke 49cc engine. It starts fine but when I try and move the choke to run position the engine dies. So I can only use the bike when the choke is on and there is very little torque power. Please help! I think it has to do with the carb. thanks!
2 reasons... 1- middle valve seat plugged up water or old gas scum... rub small wire in hole and blow out with carb cleaner ! 2 - under the throttle idle screw.. ply -up rubber and brass tube.. do same ! also saloon engine repair guy has video on open hole up 1 -size.. so not plug up all time! hole too small.
can you tell me what type of oil does this motor take and what type of gas i searched on the internet could not find information on it .im installing this motor on my margeritta bike crusier any info would help a lot
these china 4 - strokes /made like older style motors and is reason they run on streight 30... not 10w 30.. not any number but 30! non detergent! modern engines use detergent.
Any chance to give me the correct positions of gaskets to put the carb back on the engine? The hard gasket goes where. Just not sure the order of gaskets I mounting the carb.
Re clean the spark plug and try some starting fluid and if that dose not work take it to a lawn mower repair shop. If I was there I could get it going but I am not there sorry
i need a bit of help Terry; i took the jet out and it fell out in two parts. is this normal? if so then, there is a horizontal hole on one end; with the carb upside down, as youre holding it here, does the end of the jet with the horizontal hole go in first..followed by the short piece with the threads? if i have to replace the jet, who should i order from...i'm in mississippi........thanks....this bike is my only trasportation
Now at the bottom of the float bowl on the carb there is a drain use a flat screw driver and open the drain and let out a little gas to make sure there is fuel in the carb then turn the choke lever towards the pull starter open the throttle a little and pull the cord. Your engine is going to smoke for some time because you over filled it. If you need to the base setting for the air mixing screw is 3 turns out from 0 Let me know how you make out and my name is Terry not Tim

Terry; on that black spacer that goes between the carb and the motor... should there be a gasket between it and the motor? thanks
Hi yes the is a gasket between the space and the engine
just being sure; thanks
I just got the same engine, where would i get an inline fuel filter? thankks
All engines on the face of the Earth need a fuel filter, not just bicycle engines.
my.emgine bogs any idea
@mercury01441 Hi you can get one at your local lawn mower shop for 3/16 fuel line
Cheers
Terry
