JumpStart 2020 - 2022 and 2025 ( Foundations ) Are like the LoTR set they are print as needed "Ever Green" sets. That they will sell for as long as people are buying or the LoTR IP licance expires.
Jumpstart 2020 and 2022 had multiple print runs, but are out of print now. I expect they'll do much the same with Foundations Jumpstart since they promote it with the beginner box. LotR may be out of print now, since the box prices keep creeping up.
We're still gettign different theme *Shows 2 variations of the Armed theme deck* Btw, i'd love to watch you open another one of these to see if you get the goblins deck and if there are any other blue theme decks
I suspect we'll see one or more new Jumpstart products within the next 5 years, though this should be in print for at least the next 1-2 years based on previous iterations.
According to Wizards: Foundations Jumpstart (J25) and Special Guests (SPG) are Commander-, Legacy-, and Vintage-legal sets, and individual cards are also legal where already available in other formats.
@@MTGUnpacked Haha yes! I started to wonder if it was a full display of only one set packed like that by mistake, but pack 5 was Ninjas so I’m good. I’ll try to unload 2-3 Ghastlys locally :D
No they're not legal for Standard since there are some NEW cards and other reprints that aren't legal in Standard But they're definitely WAY BETTER than the Jumpstarts that were "clumped" together with those Standard releases and that one Jumpstart for Lord of the Rings.
Many people keep the 20 card sets together and reuse them over and over. I trade out the expensive / high demand cards and tune the deck / mana base, with cheep upgrades. They have a bunch of good cards for the popular Commander and other format. For the Foundations set just over 100 are standard legal right now which is less than 20% of what is in JS 2025 packs.
I don’t know who sees this and thinks man this seems like $110 worth of cards. You could just build your own with bulk. I do really appreciate the content and don’t mean that as a knock. But sheesh some of their products are so stale.
You're clearly not the target audience. Some new players might want to spend hours digging through bulk, but I expect most would rather jam some half decks together and get playing right away. I also suspect most new players won't spend $100+ on a box of these, but will buy individual packs from their LGS. Way better value than random booster packs!
@ I think it is a good idea but still not executed very well. I don’t think it’s particularly exciting. I thought the Starter Commander decks were really great products. I also think the new Starter Kit is a great product.
@@VPB1218 I am teaching my wife I don't find commander easy to teach for a brand new player. The beginner box was fantastic to teach though. And she probably wont care to build a deck herself so these make us have endless combinations we can play against each other without the time commitment of building decks. I could care less about the value of cards or being standard legal. I play arena and for paper magic I play with other friends I just proxy everything so for my wife and me this is the perfect product.
you are the first channel on my timeline who actually opens jumpstart and not just the normal set or the collectors boosters. i love jumpstart
Let's go! Jumpstart goodness! :D
Loved this box break ! Would grab one of these if I had the spare cash

Yeah, pretty light on blue in this one!
You gotta do a second J25 one but Beginners Box first! You gonna be surprised, not gonna spoil it tho. :P

Jumpstart cards cannot be used in std and thus the 5 year rule does not apply! Use them as jump start or they can be used in commander!

I just opened a display and the 2 first pack I pulled the Ghastly set. What are the odds?
Make that 4...
Pretty good odds you'll get duplication like this!

Not a single Evereth was found. The jumpstart pulls are all over the place and don't seem worth the money.
The anime versions are selling like hotcakes
@AlaskaMTG yeah at over inflated prices lmfao. Definitely not worth the price.
I thought there was an anime card in every pack?
There are. In case it's not obvious from the art, nearly all will have Japanese characters in the artist name in the lower-left.

The anime alt arts are selling pretty good in the singles market lol
