One of their most extraordinary live performances. The lyrics, the intensity - "they are just the complete package" to quote Mrs Coach. And it was the 70's - costumes were a bit outlandish, but part of the show. And they mixed up every genre of music - that is what made them so great!
This is a perfect performance from every band member. It is amazing that it is actually a live recording. Brian May wrote this song. Thank you for your reactions.
Yes, it's quite true, all four guys are/were multi instrumentalists. There's actually a story that Brian had jokingly asked John if he could learn the double bass for the song '39. Apparently a couple of days later, Brian had walked into the studio and found John, complete with double bass raring to go!
I can't get rid of this performance in my head. It is the one that shows the great theatrical potential of Freddie Mercury, his actor's talent. And we were the witnesses of his developement into a interjanre actor and singer, but, unhappily, not for too long. Exactly his long hair and whimsical outfit created the look of medieval knight singing a cosmic serenade to his love. For me in this performance everything is perfect and in it's place. This couldn't be done better. All spectators sences are satisfied up to tears. Thank you for reaction! And congratulations and best wishes to a new family! 😁🎉
I absolutely love this song..Freddie’s beautiful voice, along with his fantastic piano skills..❤️then Brian with his crying guitar..❤️John & Roger with their intense backing..❤️perfectly timed..❤️One of my all time favorites ❤️❤️
"White Queen (As It Began)" was written by guitarist Brian May for his previous band “Smile” in 1968, several years before the band “Queen” would be created. The song details the story of the speaker’s lost love, (the White Queen) for whom he continues to wait for in agony. It has a medieval, mystical feel, telling the story of a journey to see the White Queen. In the end, there is sorrow, as the journey ends as it began. It was included on Queen's second album, "Queen II" which is also known as the Black and White album. It is significant for being the first album to contain elements of the band's signature sound of multi-layered overdubs, vocal harmonies, and varied musical styles. Queen II marked the end of the first phase of the band's career. The album combines a heavy rock sound with progressive rock elements. Queen II is not a concept album but a collection of songs with a loose theme running throughout. The two sides of the original LP were labeled "Side White" and "Side Black" (instead of the conventional sides 1 and 2), with corresponding photos of the band dressed in black on the front cover and white on the inner gatefold. The white side has songs with a more emotional theme and the black side is almost entirely about fantasy, often with quite dark themes. The album also contains a song called "The March Of The Black Queen," which was written by Freddie. The songs don't seem related, but if you're looking for a concept, you can see them as a tug between good and evil. FYI - "The March of The Black Queen" is the precursor to a certain 6-minute 1975 ambitious and surprisingly radio-friendly “Bohemian Rhapsody”.
Wow...this is fantastic info and why we love our comment section so much. We didn't know any of this and it just adds another layer to their complexity.
The white side of Queen 2 is composed by 5 Brian's songs and 1 from Roger The black side contains 6 songs from Freddie For Queenies, there is a trilogy. In chronological order : The March of the Black Queen, Bohemian Rhapsodie and Innuendo (from the eponym album), the last before Freddie's death I love the late albums Innuendo and The miracle too ❤️
This beauty was penned by Brian the ever eternal romantic!! 💚Inspired by a crush he had on a girl in his Biology class. Bri was too shy to approach her until it was too late, “So sad it ends, as it began”. The song is a page torn out of a Tolkien book! “I love the footsteps that she makes ..” 🧝🏻♀️🌿 Please Please react to the studio version, it’s absolutely stunning! I’ve been binge-listening to it on my morning walks! 🌙🍃⭐️🍃✨✨
I like Mrs coachette! lol I could watch this live performance a million times and never get tired of it, it’s definitely one of my favorites so beautiful and powerful
Speaking for myself, I prefer honest reactions. Queen does have such a broad range of song types. And as a Queen fan myself, I still prefer some songs over others myself. That being said, I cut my musical fan teeth on this group. I was lucky enough to hear their first album when I was 6. Only saw them live once. It was the best concert I ever saw. Montreal in 81.
We also prefer honest reactions and it simply isn't something we want to mislead people about. If we like something or not, we'll be honest. If that runs people off, that is not the intent certainly, but we'll be true to ourselves. In our opinion, it is perfectly fine to not always agree about certain things, and you can still get along. We do like this band a lot and appreciate their talent. Thanks for the comment!
In my opinion, "White Queen" is yet another masterpiece by Sir Brian May, Phd. (Brian recently received a Knighthood from the King of England - he also earned a Phd in astrophysics). Brian has written some of the most brilliant, intricate and notable songs for Queen. In this song, the entire band is absolute perfection! Freddie's vocals are impeccable. Brian's amazing guitar skills - matched with Freddie's piano - is simply AMAZING! This is the song that made me a Queen fan more than 50 years ago...and I know that I will never tire of it...NEVER!! This is early Queen...a song from their second album, "Queen 2". I LOVE early Queen...but I see that it will take Mr. Coach awhile to fully appreciate the intricacies - the multi-layering - of their early musicianship. But, if you listen carefully to their early music, you can see how this band of 4 multi-talented musicians evolved during the early to mid-1970s and was becoming the LEGEND they became in their lifetime!! PS: A note of caution about reacting to LIVE AID - there are many bootleg versions that cut off the end of the Queen's 20 minute set. ONLY USE THE OFFICIAL VERSION...it is the one that starts with 2 comedians in policemen uniforms - other than that version, you will not see the end of the concert. You might want to do a bit of research about Live Aid - why it was conceived by Bob Geldof, who it was meant to help, which bands decided to participate and why each band or solo artist only had 20 minutes to perform. Queen literally slayed their time slot - WHY? Because they chose their songs carefully, they shortened some songs, sped up others to fit 6 of their well-known songs into 20 minutes...and then they practiced for days to perform what is known as the BEST 20 minutes in rock history! Enjoy!!
We did react to Live Aid yesterday (still need to edit) and chose the version with the two policemen as instructed. It is coming soon. This particular song didn't overwhelm Coach the way some of the others have done, but it was still a good song to him. Mrs. Coach likes these types of songs more. Thanks so much for watching!
Regarding the studio vs live dynamic: Queen in the studio were masters of layering, overdubs, and use of effects to create the illusion of way more than four musicians playing and singing, especially in their 1970s work. They would layer their voices to sound like a giant choir, or Brian would layer guitar parts to sound almost like an orchestra. He was so good at making his guitar not sound like a guitar that they had to put a "no synthesizers" disclaimer on their early albums. On stage they would play with the material and allow it to breathe so no two performances were exactly alike. So studio Queen and live Queen are very different (but equally great) experiences.
Freddie was an art / design student before he joined Smile, and ultimately, Queen. He designed the Queen logo and also designed clothing. He also ran a fashion stall with Roger in London as well. From the beginning, Queen were quite particular about presenting with a black and white theme, and they engaged designer Zandra Rhodes to create their stage outfits. It was done that way so that everyone, even those right at the back, could see them.
@@CoachCastTV This band DID think of everything. Obviously, they were perfectionists in their music, but, because they believed that attending a Queen concert should be a visual as well as an auditory experience, they also micro-managed their stage presence - the lighting, how the stage was set up to allow Freddie his freedom to sing his incredible vocals while engaging the audience in the way that only Freddie can do, the decimal range of their amps and where to place them so that everyone in the band could be heard, etc, etc. Their huge crew of talented electricians and sound engineers is LEGENDARY!! Behind the scenes, this band was one of the hardest working bands I know...constantly practicing and doing sound checks before every performance even when they were on one of their many, long and very grueling international tours not only throughout Europe but through Japan, New Zealand, Australia and their very legendary tours throughout South America, especially in Brazil, where they performed in front of 250,000+ (low estimate) adoring non-English speaking fans each show!
I soooo love this song, it' s beautiful, deep and so touching... When i heard it for the first time I was blown away... And I love your reactons which are honest and so respectful... ❤ Please react to song Who wants to live forever live in Budapest ❤
This was a treat for me one of my favorites from their early days. I don't expect everyone to appreciate it in the same way I do and it's difficult to fully appreciate it when you're still new to hearing Queen. We don't really want fake reactions we already know these songs so well and know what parts of the song are coming up that will make your expression change or your eyes grow wide, you'll lean in to watch everything closer... you really can't fake that. The important thing is to always yourselves and to find that special Queen song that speaks to you, that's why they made their music catalog so diverse. 4 members, 4 songwriters, even they had their own favorites or songs they probably wished they never had to play again. 👑
The song was written by Brian when he was in college. Freddie's playing is incredible. In the late 60s and early 70s, everyone had long hair and 'costumes'. It's strange for me to be trying to explain it to those who didn't live through those days. I'm 75 and I grew up knowing not only what my grandparents listened to, my parents, but also my older brothers.
Thank you, you’re only starting out on your Queen journey...They are a genre all to themselves.....about Freddie’s out fit with the wingtips...they reference The Roman God, Mercury...also known as The Winged Messenger...it gives you a hint of what Queen were like...all educated to third level....Freddie loved a painting by Richard Dadd, a 19th century painter....the name of the painting is “The Fairy Feller’s Master-Stroke”..so he wrote a song about it...when they were on tour they played Scrabble...this gives you an idea of what they were like...not your typical rock stars🤩
Thank you for your honest and great reaction. This is one of my favorite song. It shows the piano skills of Freddie. QUEEN is versatile. They have many to offer. May I request LOVE OF MY LIFE - Rock in Rio 85 and ITS A HARD LIFE. Thank you and stay safe🙂
Hey Coach, as a heavy Queen fan at 62 yrs old I myself stumbled onto this performance only a week ago. Never heard the song before that. I said all that to say in all my viewings of Queen and other music reviews you guys are my favorite with your honest and down to earth opinions. I like that. Queen has a song for everyone and their live performances were second to none. When and if you get the time (and this is not particularly Queen as a band but of Freddie without the guys) take a look at what he did with Montserat Caballe) if you havent already. It's Freddie's dive into opera. There's 3 songs they did in particular from the album. Barcelona, The golden boy and How can I go on. Ill be the first to admit im no fan of opera but when i saw Freddie do it he had my attention .I hope yall like it. Again, great job.
Many thanks. We said before we ever did a video that we were not going to lie about our feelings on a song just to get subscribers. We feel that there are more than enough people out there who would prefer an honest reaction even if it is different than their opinion that at least a few will watch our channel. We appreciate that recommendation. Several have mentioned it so at some point we'll have to check it out.
This is one of my favourite live performances. As I have read, they recorded the songs and afterwards were thinking on which songs of the actual album are appropriate to play live. There are many compositions of the band that sounded great on the record, but were almost impossible to play at the same quality onstage, like the Millionaire Waltz or the Seaside Rendezvous. Hardly waiting for the Live Aid reaction. 😊
I prefer an honest reaction too, we all have our preferences. You're doing a good job by sharing with us your thoughts ❤ Please try Cool Cat, it's only Freddie and John playing all instruments in this song, including bass, guitars, synths, Clavinet and drum machine. Brian and Roger didn't participate on it. It's another rythm mixing jazzy and R&B with Freddie's falsetto 💛
This song made me think of Pink Floyd's sound when I first heard it. The difference is, this is just four guys making this sound....and they are live. They were incredible.
It would be a boring world if everyone liked the same thing. I applaud your honesty because, to me, there is nothing worse that hearing reactors spewing out what they think people want to hear. Each person is entitled to their opinion, so agree to disagree, is my motto. Sometimes a song doesn’t sound good on first hearing, but often these grow on you after a few listens and become firm favourites. Anyway, thanks for your opinions and I look forward to your next Queen reaction. X
Thank you for that great commentary. Actually, this is one of those songs for Coach. After listening a few times during editing, it sounded even better. First listens are tricky sometimes. Appreciate you!
prog rock, glam rock, metal, hard rock, soft rock, pop, music hall, vaudeville, waltz's, mock opera, BoHEMIan RhaPSody, anthem rock, arena rock, ballads, singing in other languages, movie scores, funk, r & b, rock & roll, are ALL Queen genres. (I'm sure I'm missing some). Something for everyone - if you don't care for one, you'll find another you absolutely love!
Thanks so much, Coachies! This is one of my favorites... early Queen, written by Brian May, and the interplay between Freddie & Brian is incredible... as well as the drums & bass... enjoy all of your reactions... (p.s. as a Queen fan from the mid-seventies, there are actual just a couple that I find sort of "meh"... not everything is for everyone... us "Queenies" recognize that....)
Great to hear! We certainly don't want to offend anyone, but we do want to convey our honest opinion in a respectful manner. We already have immense respect for this band and if we do find a song we don't like, that won't diminish our respect in any way. We appreciate you watching!
@@CoachCastTV Thanks, kids..in my experience in HS, most other kids thought that me and my BFF were stupid for liking that "weird band"... lol.. now more than 40 years later, I guess I can say that they all "missed the bus" on appreciation of probably one of the best, most talented groups ever.. lol
The best thing to do like you do with all bands is start from the beginning rather than go randomly. That way you'll hear how their music changes throughout the years as you can't compare their songs from the 70's to the 80's or 90's. Queen are imho the most versatile band, especially in their early years.
With Queen there is a song for everybody. I love the song Who Wants to Live Forever live at Wembley 1986 just as much as the studio version where queen backed by an orchestra written by Brian May for the film Highlander. Each version of this song Who Wants to Live Forever is beautiful in its own right. I'd like to know what you both think. Thank you x
@CoachCastTV So much respect for your honest and true reactions! I spent time during lockdown familiarizing myself with Queen whose popular music I knew in the 1980s. Knowing now their huge catalogue, well, Queen is amazing!!! Thank you for reacting to Queen!!!! Are you following their 2023 North American Rhapsody North Tour? It's awesome!
This song was from Queen 2, 1974,The only year they put out 2 albums. This one and "Sheer Heart Attack'. 2 of their best albums imho. You have to realize the evolution and the style developing through the years. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin,Queen, they all went through their transformations during their best and most creative periods.Especially the earlier years. Cheers from the canadian Queen nut.
G'Day Coaches, Queen always tried to follow the music trends, but they always kept their creative artistic integrity. If you keep in mind the famous 'Dark Side Of The Moon' album by Pink Floyd, was released in 1973 and 'White Queen' 1975. If you listen it definitely has Floyd elements within. Keep up the refreshing presentations.
Please do the studio version of MARCH OF THE BLACK QUEEN and even the two songs before it, OGRE BATTLE/NEVERMORE. All three blend from one to the next. SO AMAZING!!!
Great reaction and keeping it real. Musically this is so different but it has a total 70’s vibe to me so I can appreciate it in that level, but I was a teen in the 80’s so prefer those songs more, for the most part
Off the Queen 2 album- the white side and the costumes made those performances- part of Queen magic. i remember watching them play this live- at Newcastle City Hall the first time I saw them live- they just got better didn't follow trends did their own special kind of magic, Not everyone would agree there.....
I loved this album that it came from, but to be fair, it’s only their second album. I have favourite tracks on each album, some that were overshadowed by radio played ones. A suggestion of one such under appreciated ones is from the News of the World album. The song It’s Late is quintessential Queen, but had the misfortune to be on the same vinyl as We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions. That being said, it’s worth a listen and few reaction videos have covered it.
I love an honest reaction. This is actually one of favorite songs. There's a few I don't like but I've been a queenie since I first heard Killer Queen in 1974. Try March of the Black Queen
Beautiful, haunting, mystifying song! While their albums are superb, I love the fact that Queen more often than not sound just as or better live. In case you're wondering about the champagne glass in Freddie's hand, just before he started singing, he gave a special christmas eve toast to the audience. Freddie would give a toast to the audience in general on occasion. Alongside the shy, secret crush from afar motif, Dr. Sir Brian also drew inspiration for this song from an archetype/mythology book called "The White Goddess" by Robert Graves.
I admire the honesty you have. I'm a big Queen fan and I am honest enough to say that there are some songs I'm not too keen on, despite how awesome they all are. I've just subscribed, I hope you get many more 😊
Toda essa performance é fantástica, principalmente o solo de piano pra mim, queria entender como esse homem conseguia transmitir tanta emoção na voz, não importava de quem era a música, ele sentia cada palavra 😮❤
I'm so happy you're intending to be honest about your opinions of the music you react to. There's really no point otherwise. This song was written by Brian May about a girl he really liked at university (his White Queen) but he was too shy to approach her, so he 'adored from afar' which back then was considered romantic, rather than creepy, as it would be today. Then by the time he summoned up the courage to ask for a date, it was too late because she was already involved with someone else. I do love the interplay between Freddie on piano and Brian going nuts on the guitar, but I just wish the camera hadn't been so exclusively focused on Freddie. I love to see Brian's hands working their magic on the strings. This is the best part for me too, despite Freddie's awesome display of vocal control. As for their outfits... it was called Glam Rock for a reason....
I had forgotten the term "Glam Rock" until you just mentioned it. That explains a lot. We appreciate your commentary as always. There are always good nuggets of info from you!
Great video! I just found your channel and I really like your videos. I think you're doing a great job! If I may suggest two more Queen songs. First Queen - Now I’m Here (Live at Wembley) and for another early song, Queen - Liar (Live at the Rainbow 74). I wish you a wonderful day! :)
Glad to have you join us. We appreciate the suggestions. We're running a list of to-do videos and it's getting a bit long but we imagine we'll do this for quite a while so consider those added to the list. We don't go in order, we go randomly based on the mood that hits us. LOL
That's a heck of a title considering the topic. LOL We plan on eventually getting their entire catalog, but it undoubtedly will take a long time to get to everything.
I absolutely love this song and performance, exactly as Mrs. Coach says. I love Freddie’s vocals here, but you never actually get to see him play piano this way in most songs. He was fantastic at it though. I have heard all can play at least two instruments, and have seen it, except not sure about Roger, their songs always needing him in the there playing drums. They all can do some keyboard work in addition to their “assigned” specialties. I totally love Queen, but even I don’t LOVE all their songs. Some of the busier, noisier ones I don’t listen to over and over , probably because Freddie’s vocal ability gets lost in those. Most of these are all so long ago, a lot of live performances weren’t filmed due to their not gaining much attention until their 3rd album or so. And they were at first opening acts for others for a few years. Especially here in the US, it took longer to gain recognition and it waxed and waned. Ridiculous reasons for that, I hate even remembering it. They were actually ostracized in a way because they wanted to be different, versatile and remain interesting.
Queen were an opening act for one time for Mott The Hoople for the UK & US tours never for anyone else Roger plays the piano, bass guitar, rhythm guitar, drums & anything percussion they are all multi instrumentalists ❤
I definitely prefer honest reactions. There is something about the drumming in this song that I absolutely love. I know the highlights are the piano and guitar parts, but even then, I get drawn to the drums in this.
Yes, in the edit process, we noticed the drums even more...hard to ignore Roger's talents, but they all shine so brightly that it's hard to sometimes appreciate the full genius at work in their songs without multiple listens.
Hey guys, don't worry about it, I've loved Queen for over 20 years and have had the opportunity to see Queen+ since 2005 at many live shows, and it's perfectly fine, at least for me, if you find a song you don't like... I honestly don't know a single person among my Queen fan friends who doesn't have a song they hate or don't like... Just because we love Queen doesn't mean we have to totally eat up everything they've ever made, ofc there are weaker bits ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
actually, if I could recommend you some such interesting thing from Queen, which probably not everyone will recommend... I don't know how much you like songs that sound like country folk vibes... and they sing about things like time dilation that you might know from sci-fi movies... but as you already know Sir Brian is a passionate astrophysicist and he wrote this song back in 1975... I rather recommend this studio version, because on it we hear Brian singing, who has an interesting voice for a " just" guitarist, a kind of storyteller voice... and this story... I don't know anyone who's written a song about something so directly related to theory of relativity@@CoachCastTV ua-cam.com/video/kE8kGMfXaFU/v-deo.html
No synths. Just four geniuses. React to the studio version of this song. I always prefered the live version but the studio one has grown on me to become my second favourite Queen song.
DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER! You have to remember this is when they started out and they did a lot of experimental music 🎶 500+ songs are in their catalog. THANKS ❤
Love your reactions to Queen, have been a fan of Queen since being a kid and my older brother had their records. Not sure I like being referred to as a Queenie though lol never heard that before
@@1979kg 🤣😂Yeah, I'll tell Mrs. Coach. We did record another today already so not sure what we said in that one. It's a unique name, so I can understand why some may not embrace it the same as others.
@@CoachCastTV If you’re after Queen recommendations then It’s late or spread your wings off the News of the world album are my particular favourites.👌🏻
I completely understand what you said about eventually coming across a song you won't like me personally about half of the songs from Queen's earlier career I disliked until I heard them a couple more times and I loved them this song is included in that. I say that to say even if you don't like a song after a while you shouldn't be worried about backlash after all this is a reaction channel
Thanks so much. We know that some (many?) reaction channels never say anything but positive about everything because they want more subscribers. We understand that, but feel it's more important to be honest. Queen fans, at least, seem to be very understanding of that.
Hi Mr. & Mrs. Coach, I’ve loved Queen since the 70s. One of my favorite bands of all time. Please react to George Michael called Killer/papa was a rolling stone 1993. It’s such a great live performance. He’s a great live performer.
Hi Mr and Mrs Coach. I'm still catching up with your Queen videos but Can i make a suggestion that you listen to the studio version first then listen to the same track live, if it's available. Queen put a lot of effort into the studio tracks and they really are worth a listen to. I can't wait till you get onto Freddies duet album with Montserat Caballe, Barcelona!! Congratulations to Coach junior.
not sure if John Deacon (the bassist) plays 2 instruments. I did just catch a 2021 song of Roger's from his solo album and he was playing guitar and piano. What the heck! I had no clue and I am a big Roger Taylor fan. FYI, did you know that last week Brian May had a large scientific achievement (at age 76 btw). Here is a small clip about what he did. "Brian May has once again proven why he is rock royalty. Not only is he the Queen guitarist, but he is also an astrophysicist who recently helped NASA return its first ever asteroid sample to Earth.May played a crucial role in the mission, creating stereoscopic images from the spacecraft’s data that allowed the leader of the mission, Dante Lauretta, and the team to locate a safe site to land and collect a sample. In the clip, May apologized for not being with the team on the momentous occasion. “I’m rehearsing for a Queen tour but my heart stays with you as this precious sample is recovered,” he explained.
@@CoachCastTV John could also play guitar and keyboards. To go along with an electronics degree. Queen used a special amplifier along with Brian's home built guitar to create his unique guitar tones. The amplifiers name is the Deacy Amp. Designed and built from an old radio John found in the garbage. It took 40 years for someone to be able to figure out how he did it and replicate it with any accuracy. When you put 4 diverse and creative geniuses in a band together they call it Queen.
A month late but one thing about Queen is sometimes they are more creative live and sometimes I prefer studio as they are also creative in their videos. Take "Somebody to love" for example. (to me) 10x better live. "One Vision" 10x better official video. (because it's fun!) If you don't mind a teeny big of "language" "The making of One Vision (a bit longer version) is a really fun watch before you watch the actual video. It shows the band interacting in the studio making a song. Both being serious and having fun.
Having been a Queenie since I was a child in the 70s, i can tell you that there are several songs that i really don't like. I've heard Roger say that they have several that he doesn't like.
Absolutely love your reactions! Would you consider reacting to “Tenement Funster” from the Sheer Heart Attack album (1974)? Written and sung by Roger Taylor.
Freddie didn’t want live to be like the studio. Why come and see them when you can just listen to the album. That’s why you can listen to the same song on different live recordings and it’s different. Keep it up!
Congratulations to Coach Jr.! Since your names so-far go: Coach Mrs. Coach and Coach Jr.... It really seems like her name would have to be: Mrs. Coach Jr. (That nickname Coachette is adorable, though.... You might want to keep that in reserve for a baby Coachette sometime in the future?)
Welcome to the REAL Queen! My favorite period for Queen is 1973 to 1977. Queen in the ‘80s was a world force to be reckoned with, but I was done with them by then! No interest in the short hair mustachioed fist pumping yelling Freddie Mercury… ‘70s Queen will always be my favorite… Notice how beautifully Freddy is singing, and not just yelling lol. Yes of course I know it’s just my opinion and I know it’s because that is when I was introduced to Queen. I saw them live many times in the 70s. What they went on to do in the ‘80s was obviously very important and yes, they were incredibly diverse but I came into this band with the long hair and the glam rock look and that will always be the real Queen to me! And although they weren’t my favorite band, Zeppelin was, nobody could touch Queen live. They put an incredible amount of time into the studio work, and they couldn’t replicate all of it because of all the overdubs, etc. but it was absolutely phenomenal how well they performed that intricate music live! If you haven’t yet please check out Tie your mother down, the official video that is from 1977. As far as I’m concerned, the end of that first and great era of the band… Glad to have found your channel!
Ok, please let me know”BTW” one more time. Both Queen One and Queen Two albums are EXTRAORDINARY pieces of work. They didn’t hit mainstream til Night at the Opera. (Mucky due to management and record label) Many think Queen started at Opera.(their 4th Studio album)
Written by and about something in Dr Sir Brian early life In answer to the question over 650 songs released, just with Queen in Freddie lifetime, not counting solo albums from Roger, Sir Brian and Fred I would disagree that they cut corners, that's something they'd never do, in the words of Fred, if you want to hear songs sounded exactly the same as the records then stay in and listen, if you're going out you want something different from the records and that's what they did and still do. They would sing some covers in the live concerts Rock And Roll Medley, anything from Elvis, Little Richard and many more which change slightly in the 80's, but paying respect too the music they listen to in the early days, again no two concerts were the same, Roger can play piano, and Guitar, John can also play a few instruments, he taught himself the electric piano for Your My Best Friend, which is for and about his wife, Fred couldn't get on with said piano so John played it
@@CoachCastTV I can't remember the exact number, as I counted them up on Queen UA-cam Channel under released from the list, the last album was I think 47 they released The Miracle from 1989 again last year with unreleased songs and outtakes, and released two versions of Face It Alone, same lyrics, unreleased song from that album, but they've both the lyric video and another one with clips throughout their career, which I prefer
@@CoachCastTV hahaha yes they have an extensive catalogue, majority of which have been written by one or more of the group. Freddie took part in a West End Show called Time, he released I think three songs from this, which he didn't write, his friend Dave Clark and Mike Moran and a few others put it on the title song two versions with Fred and In My Defence, which many took as meaning something completely different, some thought it was Fred dealing with his HIV he wasn't even diagnosed for at least another year. I feel some are taking the film Bo Rap as gospel, yes things did definitely happen but not necessarily in the order from the film, I've never seen it, but both Sir Brian and Roger said it's not a documentary, we couldn't fit everything in within a couple of hours, so time scales change
In my opinion this is some of Freddie's best piano work ❤❤
He did excellent work for sure.
@@CoachCastTVAnd to think he didn’t think he was that good of a piano player!
This maybe the most beautiful piece of music i have ever heard in my life.
One of their most extraordinary live performances. The lyrics, the intensity - "they are just the complete package" to quote Mrs Coach. And it was the 70's - costumes were a bit outlandish, but part of the show. And they mixed up every genre of music - that is what made them so great!
Headphones on, no video and late at night. Then this song makes sense and it is one of their greatest ever performances
Queen is a genre on their own ❤
This is becoming apparent. LOL
That is a fact.
I love Freddie with the long, dark hair framing his beautiful face. 😍
Thanks so much! And yes, now that you mention it, he does look sort of like a medieval knight.
I absolutely love this song..Freddie’s beautiful voice, along with his fantastic piano skills..❤️then Brian with his crying guitar..❤️John & Roger with their intense backing..❤️perfectly timed..❤️One of my all time favorites ❤️❤️
Mrs. Coach really enjoyed as well.
Please react to Queens medley, live at the Rainbow room November 1974.... SPECTACULAR!!..Thanks..
The white side of Queen 2 is composed by 5 Brian's songs and 1 from Roger
The black side contains 6 songs from Freddie
For Queenies, there is a trilogy. In chronological order : The March of the Black Queen, Bohemian Rhapsodie and Innuendo (from the eponym album), the last before Freddie's death
I love the late albums Innuendo and The miracle too ❤️
This beauty was penned by Brian the ever eternal romantic!! 🌙🍃⭐️🍃✨✨
Mrs. Coach really liked it.
As do I. There are a few songs of theirs that I absolutely cannot force myself to listen to. But since their catalog is so huge, it's inevitable
Good info!
Very cool, seems they thought of everything.

Absolutely stunning song this one. amazing band and very talented .Great reaction guys look forward to your next post keep up the good work 👍👍🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸
Thank you!
This is my favorite live performance.
They have so many good ones it's hard to choose.
I soooo love this song, it' s beautiful, deep and so touching... When i heard it for the first time I was blown away... And I love your reactons which are honest and so respectful... ❤ Please react to song Who wants to live forever live in Budapest ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words. That one should be on our list to do. We appreciate you!
Such a great comment. Thank you so much. Queen fans are simply amazing.
See, this here is why we love the comment section so much! This kind of trivia is so cool to know. Thank you for commenting!
Thank you for watching and for the suggestions. We are going to be doing Queen reactions a long time it appears.
this song really grew on me in my later years, particularily after seeing this particular live performance of it
Hey Coach, as a heavy Queen fan at 62 yrs old I myself stumbled onto this performance only a week ago.
You have to remember this was half a century ago...yeah 50 yrs ago..no computers..or auto tune crap..just pure talent....
We are going to try to record Live Aid this weekend and hopefully post it next week. Thanks for hanging in there with us.
I prefer an honest reaction too, we all have our preferences.
You're doing a good job by sharing with us your thoughts ❤
Please try Cool Cat, it's only Freddie and John playing all instruments in this song, including bass, guitars, synths, Clavinet and drum machine. Brian and Roger didn't participate on it. It's another rythm mixing jazzy and R&B with Freddie's falsetto 💛
That sounds great...it's on our list to do as soon as we can. Thank you!
I think what amazes me the most is the fact that all of the guys were in their twenties here...When l think of myself when l was in my twenties...🙄😁😂
Queen 2 and Sheer Heart Attack are my favorites.
I think you guys should react to "In my Defense" by Freddie Mercury ... for me it´s his best vocals I heard.
That's a new one for us. Sounds interesting.
It is an amazing song and performance.
The first two albums are my favourite.
This song made me think of Pink Floyd's sound when I first heard it. The difference is, this is just four guys making this sound....and they are live. They were incredible.
I think Freddie looks so beautiful here, as always 🥰 Check out Ogre Battle same concert 1975 hammersmith.
@@CoachCastTV Aaaw, thank you! X
Radio ga ga live aid for fantastic crowd interaction.
No auto tune, no retakes, just 4 guys with raw talent
We just recorded "Live Aid" and just have to edit. Agreed that part was one of our favorites.
Why mention Auto Tune? Lol, no band before 1997 used it, because it didn’t exist b4 then
This is the track that is on the whole Video that I recomended !!!! BRILL
prog rock, glam rock, metal, hard rock, soft rock, pop, music hall, vaudeville, waltz's, mock opera, BoHEMIan RhaPSody, anthem rock, arena rock, ballads, singing in other languages, movie scores, funk, r & b, rock & roll, are ALL Queen genres.
Freddie at the top of his golden voice. IMO
Thank you x
That is on our to-do list. Several have said it's great.
Thank you so much! We haven't seen their tour. We truly appreciate your kind words.
We just filmed our reaction to Brighton Rock, which we believe was 1974.
Progressive with the times, same with Hair, and Clothes 😊 always evolving
The variety we've already heard is amazing...can only imagine how diverse the rest of their catalog is going to be.
You should watch the queen medley live at rainbow '74, amazing instrumentation and vocals
I think a few people have mentioned that. I'm sure we'll get to it. Thanks for watching!
Great reaction and keeping it real. Musically this is so different but it has a total 70’s vibe to me so I can appreciate it in that level, but I was a teen in the 80’s so prefer those songs more, for the most part
Definitely a '70s vibe in this, but that's a good perspective you have.
Off the Queen 2 album- the white side and the costumes made those performances- part of Queen magic. i remember watching them play this live- at Newcastle City Hall the first time I saw them live- they just got better didn't follow trends did their own special kind of magic, Not everyone would agree there.....
Recently there was talk of them selling their catalog which many others are. It was going to go for over a billion dollars.
Not at all surprised. It might need a few more zeroes.
Good to know...we'll keep that one in mind!
Yip, their second album BUT by far their best album ever
I love an honest reaction. This is actually one of favorite songs. There's a few I don't like but I've been a queenie since I first heard Killer Queen in 1974. Try March of the Black Queen
Good to know. The instrumental on this was outstanding.
Having seen them, 100 percent better live than the studio
This is without doubt THE Best queen song that
No one really knows
Xmas Eve That night at the Odeon?

Yeah, we had never heard it, but then again, we haven't heard the vast majority of their catalog. LOL
I've just subscribed, I hope you get many more 😊
Thanks so much. We're glad to have you along for the ride.
Toda essa performance é fantástica, principalmente o solo de piano pra mim, queria entender como esse homem conseguia transmitir tanta emoção na voz, não importava de quem era a música, ele sentia cada palavra 😮❤
Yes, it was noticeable the emotion he had. Thanks for watching!

Welcome to Coach Jnr and Mrs Coachette! For another different sound - "Dreamer's Ball" live in Paris.
Super!!!
If you want to see more of Brian the Rainbow concert in 1974 version shows more of him both great concerts ❤
Also there is a bit of Zeppelin 'Stairway to Heaven' 1971
Great video! I just found your channel and I really like your videos. I think you're doing a great job! If I may suggest two more Queen songs. First Queen - Now I’m Here (Live at Wembley) and for another early song, Queen - Liar (Live at the Rainbow 74). I wish you a wonderful day! :)
Glad to have you join us. We appreciate the suggestions. We're running a list of to-do videos and it's getting a bit long but we imagine we'll do this for quite a while so consider those added to the list. We don't go in order, we go randomly based on the mood that hits us. LOL
I haven’t heard anyone do a reaction to Death On Two Legs. Freddie wrote it about their Manager who they felt was ripping them off.
Glad to know we won't be ostracized from the Queen fandom if we don't like every single song. LOL Thanks for that info!
Queen were an opening act for one time for Mott The Hoople for the UK & US tours never for anyone else Roger plays the piano, bass guitar, rhythm guitar, drums & anything percussion they are all multi instrumentalists ❤
The only genre box you can put Queen in is Queen. 😊😊
70s Queen is fantastic, they experimented more with sound in that era.
Check out some songs from Queen II ablum particularly March of The Black Queen
The sound was definitely different on this one than others we've done.
Also, each member of queen has written at least 1 number 1 hit.

That sounds interesting.
Appreciate that. Queen fans seem to be a very reasonable group of people. LOL
actually, if I could recommend you some such interesting thing from Queen, which probably not everyone will recommend... I don't know anyone who's written a song about something so directly related to theory of relativity@@CoachCastTV

THANKS ❤

not sure if John Deacon (the bassist) plays 2 instruments.
That's just unreal (about Brian)...and Roger on guitar and piano is amazing. Most people cannot do one instrument, let alone multiple.
@@Sneak65The things we learn about Queen in the comments is simply amazing. LOL
👏👏*Who wants to live forever " live Budapest or the official/ studio is great or better than live because they play with orchestra
Their diversity is also amazing! What a great group.
Having been a Queenie since I was a child in the 70s, i can tell you that there are several songs that i really don't like. I've heard Roger say that they have several that he doesn't like.
Wow...then we won't feel bad if we find one that we feel that way about. Thanks for that!
Absolutely love your reactions! Would you consider reacting to “Tenement Funster” from the Sheer Heart Attack album (1974)? Written and sung by Roger Taylor.
Thank you. Definitely will keep that in mind. So many good Queen songs, it seems we cannot go wrong no matter what we pick.
First 2 albums Queen Queen 2
Freddie didn’t want live to be like the studio. Why come and see them when you can just listen to the album. That’s why you can listen to the same song on different live recordings and it’s different. Keep it up!
Thank you!
Congratulations to Coach Jr.!
Since your names so-far go:
Coach
Mrs. Coach
and
Coach Jr....
It really seems like her name would have to be:
Mrs. Coach Jr.
(That nickname Coachette is adorable, though.... You might want to keep that in reserve for a baby Coachette sometime in the future?)
Mrs. Coach Jr. sounds reasonable. Thank you so much!
Every song is a different sound.
Yes, we're seeing that.
Glad to have you here! We have one Led Zeppelin on the channel so far. But yes, Queen live is hard to beat. Appreciate the great comment!
@@CoachCastTV great! Where can I make a donation? A little bribe for some Zeppelin I’ll pass along LOL… seriously a thank you for the entertainment!
LOL, bribes not needed, we truly enjoyed our first and already have plans for another.
Please react to "The Millionaire Waltz" amazing piano skills and very classical 🩷🤍
Roger and Brian are just as great with Adam at the ISLE of WHYTE
and now for something totally different "STone Cold Crazy" Live At the Rainbow 1974 - it's very short.
Written by and about something in Dr Sir Brian early life
In answer to the question over 650 songs released, just with Queen in Freddie lifetime, not counting solo albums from Roger, Sir Brian and Fred
I would disagree that they cut corners, that's something they'd never do, in the words of Fred, if you want to hear songs sounded exactly the same as the records then stay in and listen, if you're going out you want something different from the records and that's what they did and still do.
They would sing some covers in the live concerts Rock And Roll Medley, anything from Elvis, Little Richard and many more which change slightly in the 80's, but paying respect too the music they listen to in the early days, again no two concerts were the same, Roger can play piano, and Guitar, John can also play a few instruments, he taught himself the electric piano for Your My Best Friend, which is for and about his wife, Fred couldn't get on with said piano so John played it
Wow, 650!! This is going to take some time.
I think it's safe to say we'll be doing Queen reactions for a long time. LOL
Mrs. CoachCastTV--please review more!
