My favorite is Mr. Queen, which is about an arrogant chef from modern day South Korea who wakes up in the body of the soon to be Queen of the Joseon in 1850. The show wildly oscillates between comedy and drama and is something everyone can enjoy. I should point out that it doesn’t try to be historically accurate in the slightest.
Yes. Its one of the best kdramas and a good gateway to period kdramas. And the music is just a gem. I once saw a review that sold this drama to me. "The actress looks like she is having fun playing the role and the king is secretly a badass"
Business Proposal is probs one of my all time favs and what I'd recommend to anyone wanting to start watching k-dramas. I also really love Prison Playbook. I've only seen about half of these on this list ... I've got some binging to do!
Strong Girl Bong Soon! The chemistry between Park Bo-young and Park Hyung-Sik is off the charts plus the comedy of the supporting cast especially Kim Won-hae is not to be missed.
In my opinion, these are the best Kdrama I watched 1. Scarlet Heart Ryeo - Moon Lovers... Hope they really have a Season 2 where all the Princes from Joseon Dynasty go to the future lol also love their OSTs, For You and A Lot Like Love... 2. It's OK Not to be OK - made me binge on Kdrama since this is sooooooo good. The plot is somehow dark but this is the definition of drama to me. This Kdrama also made me love their OSTs, especially You're Cold, Breathe and Hallelujah. 3. Crash Landing On You - no question, great script, story and actors. LSS with OST as well, Here I Am Again. Simply one of the best I would recommend 4. Doctor Stranger - introduced me to medical kdrama like Hospital Playlist... Doctor Stanger is the definition of fate to a loved one, their struggle since the start to the end is very fulfilling and worth to watch. Best ending as well. 5. Flower of Evil - best wife of all Kdrama lol the plot is simple, wife a detective and husband a killer. But the twists are amazing and also introduced me to Police kdrama like Mouse. The OST Feel You and In My Heary is also in my Playlist. Other Kdrama I would highly recommend: - Itaewon Class, revenge and struggle to rise to the top - Startup, about business and family, made me love Bae Suzy here and introduced me to While You Were Sleeping - Uncanny Counter - Sweet Home - 18 Again - Love in the Moonlight - Alchemy of Souls
Loved this show, is there another season!? My sister recommended this one…❤ 🥰👀. I’m watching it again !! Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy New Year ❣️❣️
Dokkaebi / Goblin and The Coffee Prince, both featuring Gong Yoo, are my favourites, but there is so much more to explore. Thank you for all the inspiration.
I am addicted to K-dramas right now and eager to watch the list you provided. Looking forward to Squid Game Season 2 in December, looooove Extraordinary Attny Woo!! And Crash Landing on You - just need to watch the last episode, I hate to not see them together at the end so waiting on watching it!!
My personal to Watch on Netflix is "All of Us are Dead" That is a fun and scary horror show set in a High School. Plus even seen the city been invaded by Zombies is scary as hell.
The Glory was my first K-drama! It was so good i binged it all in a day. It has high rewatch value as you uncover new perspectives/details after seeing the entire show. I'll definitely be checking out some of the ones on this list! Thanks!
I’m so glad my little sister made me watch True Beauty. I was actually apprehensive watching this drama after hearing some criticisms but I ended up really liking it in the end! It became a huge comfort show to me with its funny moments and sweet romance. (And some sad moments that I cried at)
Daily dose of sunshine I recommended 1000% There is some trigger warnings and I had to take a break because it hit hard but its such a beautiful show ❤❤
You forgot My Demon and Juvenile Justice.! Vincenzo is definitely a favorite so is True Beauty and Attorney Woo.However, The Glory is fantastic! Be warned of some pretty horrific violence in the beginning when she is being bullied.
Move to Heaven being an honorable mention is one thing but there’s many duds on this list I would replace a few stand outs glaringly missing. I comfort myself with the thought this is a list from non-kdrama watchers for non-kdrama watchers.
My very best favourite is Signal. I have watched it three times already, and every time I spot a detail that I didn't notice before. The acting is stellar, the story is wonderful, and the good news is, a second season (after eight years!) is in preproduction and all the original actors will be appearing.
I will say Squid Game was the start for me then it was The Glory, Alice in borderland and from there I cant keep up. I did start Mask Girl and True Beauty but they weren't for me. I have also branched out watching shows produced by other asian countries. I never knew how obsessed I would become 😂
Hospital Playlist, Repply 1988, Mr. Sunshine, When Camellias Blooms, Because this is my first life, Love to Hate you. And those are just the ones on Netflix
I’m watching Hot Stove League on Netflix now, and so far it’s really great. It’s about a badly performing baseball team that gets a new general manager who starts sorting out problems in the organization with the team’s operations manager (played by Park Eun-bin of Exteaordinary Attorney Woo)
In general a lot of the Asian countries are spitting out amazing Netflix original movies and shows. I've watched so many different things from Asia on Netflix.
Tale of the Nine Tailed is a GREAT show ! Very surprised it wasn't on the list (on Netflix and prime) also missing OH My Venus ,My Demon & Love to Hate You also great shows
I'm pleased that Kingdom, All of Us Are Dead and Sweet Home made the cut, but the Gyeosang(?) Monster should be on the list also. While the story seems far-fetched, it does make the point that Japan occupied Manchuria and Korea brutally. Another series which involves the tensions between the Japanese and Koreans is Pachinko, but I am not sure if it was produced by Koreans or if it is a joint venture.
Stranger, Signal and Kingdom are my favorites from this list. I’m surprised Flower of Evil is not on the list as it’s available on Netflix, too. Probably too long to binge, though.
Attorney Woo is number 1 for me! Not just Korean but any series anywhere❤. Love All of Us Are Dead , 1st season of Sweet Home was great but went down hill by season 3 . Kingdom ..fantastic! Squid Game..both seasons. You left out SISYPHUS: The Myth…love that one and GLITCH…love both of those.
When it comes to K-Dramas, I always watch romcoms since I’m a fan of that genre. And I’m not a fan of thrillers and dramas like Squid Game are too much for me since I get easily squeamish when it comes to gore and too much violence.

How can this list miss out on IT'S OKAY TO NOT BE OKAY ? The 1st korean drama, that was nominates for international Emmy. And the 1st kdrama that actually made me stick to the end, despite being a romantic drama (and I'm def not into romantic dramas in general) and kind of slow to my taste. All the actors are great, it's beautifully shot, it has a smart screenplay (with using tales and patiens' stories helping the storyline), beautiful animation, and has such a heartwarming message, which makes it so much more than a usual romantic story.

QUEENMAKER!
All of them
Doctor Slump
My favorite is Mr. Queen, which is about an arrogant chef from modern day South Korea who wakes up in the body of the soon to be Queen of the Joseon in 1850. The show wildly oscillates between comedy and drama and is something everyone can enjoy. I should point out that it doesn’t try to be historically accurate in the slightest.
That’s my favourite too
That sounds fascinating!
Yes. Its one of the best kdramas and a good gateway to period kdramas. And the music is just a gem. I once saw a review that sold this drama to me. "The actress looks like she is having fun playing the role and the king is secretly a badass"
Doom at your Service is a tear-jerking dreamlike journey through life and death. Seo In Guk and Park Bo Young were magical together.
No it was boring at best !
Business Proposal is probs one of my all time favs and what I'd recommend to anyone wanting to start watching k-dramas. I also really love Prison Playbook. I've only seen about half of these on this list ... I've got some binging to do!

- Uncanny Counter

Extraordinary attorney woo is a show I'd recommend, both as someone who likes legal shows and someone with Aspergers seeing Autism representation.

Also love All of Us Are Dead and Sweet Home.
Eve is also good revenge drama. Try watching it
I probably would have never have heard of any of these shows if it weren't for this video. Thanks for bringing them to our attention MsMojo!
Dokkaebi / Goblin and The Coffee Prince, both featuring Gong Yoo, are my favourites, but there is so much more to explore. Thank you for all the inspiration.
What a diverse list! ❤ Loads on here I haven't watched. I personally loved Vincenzo, Crash Landing on You and The Glory.
If you love The Glory, try watching Eve as well. Another revenge kdrama but compared to The Glory, she is straightforward than Song He Kyo
'It's ok not to be ok' really nice k- drama
My favorites are "My Liberation Notes" and "Stranger". Stranger really deserves to be number 1, best Kdrama ever.
I remember the first K-drama I watched’Coffee Prince’, and how hard it was to find it subtitled back in the day.
