Filmed on August 8th, 2002, “Alive In Seattle” captures Heart live in concert at the stunning “Beaux Arts” style Paramount Theatre in their home city of Seattle on the last night of their Summer Of Love Tour. With sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson leading from the front, this is a brilliant performance capturing all the diverse aspects of Heart’s music from hard rock to pop to acoustic folk. The set mixes classic hits, brand new songs and superb cover versions. This is a Heart performance that belongs in any fan’s collection.

Well in late 1990 about 5 years after it was released I was in my late 20's. I bought my first brand new car and it had a GREAT, premium factory sound system in it. Damn near wore this CASSETTE out cuz it sounded SO freakin awesome with these ladies cranking out of the speakers! Yeah... 😊

@@meknetwork Unlike the good ol' days, there is pitch correction here. You can hear it clearly. If you watch the 40+takes it took to get the original studio version you will see/hear the difference. There are no microsecond half-step jumps back then.

i agree. The way they sang this in a softer tone and mellowing down a bit the "rock" tone in most parts really highlighted the true message of the song. Made the song more beautiful and "dreamy" than before as the way i've always thought it should be.

I think people tend to forget that "Heart" was actually a 70's band. Their debut album "Dreamboat Annie" was released on Valentines day 1976 and was an instant success. I was 16 years old and I can still remember where I was and who I was with when I heard it for the first time. These incredibly talented women were pioneers who were responsible for the female artist's that would follow in their footsteps. Their talent gave them a foot in the door of a business that was male dominated. That same talent allowed them to get a firm foot hold as well as staying power. I saw them perform live about a year after their debut album was released. I will never forget when they began their performance, at first the audience sat in stunned silence. These ladies were a powerhouse and commanded that stage and our attention. It was a seldom seen sight back in those days and one that left a huge impression on those who were there to experience it. Simply amazing talent!!
I was born in 76' so I grew up listening to their 80s hits and loved those. I really am not familiar with their 70s music at all. I just attended their concert in Tulsa, OK on 5/4/24 and it does seem they have more of an affection for their 70s songs. I was disappointed that they didn't perform my favorite song - Alone in its entirety. However, I will say they are amazing vocalists and the real deal. Just classy and authentic. They were gorgeous in the 80s. You were so lucky to see them in their prime in the 70s. ❤ Regardless, beautiful ladies inside and out.

You do know that this was recorded in 2002?. Nearly 20 years ago. They still sound great but not exactly like this. Ann is 70 years old. She has the pipes, but a certain raspiness is there. She would have been in her fifties in this video.

Not that Ann is aging badly, she's not. She just kind of looks much more wholesome, like the middle-aged woman next door. I like her outfit though, really suits her. Some older stars make really bad choices in this department, when I think of Kim Wilde squeezing her pounds into a much too tight leather outfit...

I don't know about that ... the 80s was my time, junior high, high school, college and finally the start of my career right at the tail end of the decade. There was a lot of garbage music getting airplay in the 80s too and many of us at the time preferred music from the late 60s through the 70s. It's really only the good music from that era that you hear now ... and it is interesting to see what continues to get airplay and the popular music from then that has seemed to drop off the face of the planet.

I may still have cassette tapes purchased in the 80s that I didn't replace with CD. My point was that the statement that the 80s music standard was so high simply isn't true, there was good music and it also had its share of bad music. People tend to be nostalgic. As good as Ann Wilson? Well, no, Ann is on a level on her own but Nancy is clearly a talented singer and an excellent guitarist. Her singing, in harmony with Ann, was a huge part of their hits from the very beginning. I always had a thing for Nancy, lol.

An 80s child, I am shocked at how excellent they still sound. Wow. They absolutely killed this. They still have the voices of young women.
