@msss Davv Totally. I'm not much of a fan, haven't seen them in a while. But when they were younger, I always thought Ann was hotter. But Nancy has aged much better, she looks amazing. Not that Ann is aging badly, she's not. She just kind of looks much more wholesome, like the middle-aged woman next door. I like her outfit though, really suits her. Some older stars make really bad choices in this department, when I think of Kim Wilde squeezing her pounds into a much too tight leather outfit...
You do know that this was recorded in 2002?. Nearly 20 years ago. They still sound great but not exactly like this. Ann is 70 years old. She has the pipes, but a certain raspiness is there. She would have been in her fifties in this video.
I like this version even more than the recording. I didn't know Nancy took the lead on this. Love her voice. The Wilson sisters are such skilled singers.

As good as Ann Wilson? Well, no, Ann is on a level on her own but Nancy is clearly a talented singer and an excellent guitarist. Her singing, in harmony with Ann, was a huge part of their hits from the very beginning. I always had a thing for Nancy, lol.

Nancy is so damn sexy and I'm in awe of her. It doesn't matter how old she is, she has something special in her. It must be her musical soul and the way she channels it to the world.
Yeah, I know. Infortunately, she had a TON of plastic surgery recently and it looks horrible. I'm very upset over it and if I was her husband, I would have done EVERYTHING in my power to stop her. I can't believe it. It's sad

I'm amazed, this is better than the original. Their vocals blend magnificently and they're both so beautiful. God had a plan, Ann and Nancy Wilson are messengers - kimie
You catch me at the wrong time of the day or night and I would be in tears too my man. Had an unsettling dream 2 days ago in the middle of the night and I woke up and watched the original video. Something in the Earth's atmosphere meshed together when this song was originally recorded AND during this performance. I could go on and on...

I don't know about that ... the 80s was my time, junior high, high school, college and finally the start of my career right at the tail end of the decade. There was a lot of garbage music getting airplay in the 80s too and many of us at the time preferred music from the late 60s through the 70s. It's really only the good music from that era that you hear now ... and it is interesting to see what continues to get airplay and the popular music from then that has seemed to drop off the face of the planet.
@@Journeyonn6912 - I never said we didn't have great music coming out of that time. Heck, somewhere in my basement I have 100s of albums and cds from the 80s alone. I may still have cassette tapes purchased in the 80s that I didn't replace with CD. My point was that the statement that the 80s music standard was so high simply isn't true, there was good music and it also had its share of bad music. People tend to be nostalgic. I had to laugh when you said it ended disco Well, disco ended disco.
I write this with tears in my eyes as this was the song my mom used to sing to me sleep every night when I was young. I love you mom forever and always ♥️
I love Stephanie. Great singer and pretty easy on the eyes. A lot of Grace Slick criticized her singing in Starship saying she wasn't Grace, but who is. Stephanie is great on her own. I for one, admire her. Go Stephanie,go girl.keep singing great. You are awesome!
Extremely well said. Something about this song (especially THIS utterly perfect version) always brings back some very nostalgic memories of my 80’s childhood.
I think people tend to forget that "Heart" was actually a 70's band. Their debut album "Dreamboat Annie" was released on Valentines day 1976 and was an instant success. I was 16 years old and I can still remember where I was and who I was with when I heard it for the first time. These incredibly talented women were pioneers who were responsible for the female artist's that would follow in their footsteps. Their talent gave them a foot in the door of a business that was male dominated. That same talent allowed them to get a firm foot hold as well as staying power. I saw them perform live about a year after their debut album was released. I will never forget when they began their performance, at first the audience sat in stunned silence. These ladies were a powerhouse and commanded that stage and our attention. It was a seldom seen sight back in those days and one that left a huge impression on those who were there to experience it. Simply amazing talent!!
I was born in 76' so I grew up listening to their 80s hits and loved those. I really am not familiar with their 70s music at all. I just attended their concert in Tulsa, OK on 5/4/24 and it does seem they have more of an affection for their 70s songs. I was disappointed that they didn't perform my favorite song - Alone in its entirety. However, I will say they are amazing vocalists and the real deal. Just classy and authentic. They were gorgeous in the 80s. You were so lucky to see them in their prime in the 70s. ❤ Regardless, beautiful ladies inside and out.
@@johnleidorf2280 I'm not sure where you live or if you had one, but do you remember "Tower Records"? They were the "Powerhouse" of retail sales of albums. If you wanted an album, go to Tower Records. They even got into the sales of concert tickets, which is where I bought most of mine during the 70's. But you had to leave your home and purchase them in person. Same with the albums. You had to make an actual physical effort to get those things and you didn't think twice about it. Long lines.....no problem. Not to insult them, but can you imagine young people doing that today? There is much to be said for the extra appreciation one receives from actually putting in the effort to get that which one wishes to have. Call me silly!
@@SX-sv6vo They only sang part of the song "Alone"? That's pretty odd. That's one of their most popular songs. And these ladies were BIG. And THAT is a great song!! As music goes, things were so much different back in the 70's. Music was changing. The "Doo-Wop music of the 50's was gone and the Rock as we know today, was being created. New bands were coming out of the woodwork and they were GREAT bands. Concerts were $2.50 - $5.00 and if you lived in a big city (which I did) there was always a few in town. We didn't realize at the time just how fortunate we were to witness this dramatic change of music because we were in it. We were living it. But we became fully aware of it. And of all the Billions of people who have come and gone, I considered it to be a great gift to have been alive and breathing to see it happen. We had such a great time.....and it wasn't just the music. It was the people! Apologies for the lengthy reply. I get a thought and I'm off running. I gave up editing myself long ago. LOL Take care.
Pessoal, obrigado por enriquecer o vídeo com seus comentários. Sou do Brasil e nasci no final dos anos 70. I kind of got teary eyed from the nostalgia from watching this. Brings back so many memories of my teenage years back in the late 80s and 90s when all I had was the radio and cassette tapes.
I love this version more than their earlier work. I am amazed that their voices are so perfect. Most singers lose the purness of their voice as they mature, but if anything, they've gotten better.
I love Nancy's voice as much as Ann's. Heart is pure music. They play real instruments and sound phenominal. This is what I miss most about modern music. Heart has always been my favorite music group along with Fleetwood Mac.
If it weren't for the fact that her sister Ann is a bona fide vocal icon, Nancy could easily be Heart's lead vocalist. IMO, her voice has an angelic quality that is showcased on this song. I love it!
This song was originally offered to Stevie Nicks but she turned it down. Thank God she did! Nancy and this song go hand in hand! A match made in heaven! I love you Nancy!

her voice never change from recording to live, its the same since this song was released way back then, she has a beautiful feminine voice and she is so very beautiful until today, im 60..i look after her beauty...
This has got to be my favorite live version of any song ever... it's so perfectly executed and both more powerful and more gentle than the original. Nancy's voice is often overshadowed by the power of her sister's voice, but's it is stunningly gorgeous.
I've listened to a thousand tunes during lockdowns. This might be the best of them all. Vocals and harmonies dont get much better than this. Awesome tune.
Woah. It's wonderfully ridiculous just how gracefully the Wilson sisters have aged: this rendition blows the studio version right out the water! The voices are particularly striking in their maturity. Literally tweak the audio mix to make it just a little denser and heavier and you've got a perfect recording of a knockout performance.

Not that Ann is aging badly, she's not. She just kind of looks much more wholesome, like the middle-aged woman next door. I like her outfit though, really suits her. Some older stars make really bad choices in this department, when I think of Kim Wilde squeezing her pounds into a much too tight leather outfit...
you're totally right! James Taylor has it too.

40 years later and these two bad ass women sound better than ever. The 80s were the best decade to be alive.
70’s!
So were the 70's that was a good era as well I grew up with all of that I was born in 1962
WHY SO RUDE??
You do know that this was recorded in 2002?. Nearly 20 years ago. They still sound great but not exactly like this. Ann is 70 years old. She has the pipes, but a certain raspiness is there. She would have been in her fifties in this video.

It's much appreciated after listening to so much trash. God blessed these sisters on levels that they probably now can't believe.
Back when they still played actual music on the radio.

I like this version even more than the recording. I didn't know Nancy took the lead on this. Love her voice. The Wilson sisters are such skilled singers.
Just noticed the same thing with Nancy taking lead on this. How did I never know that?
Yeah, she delivers beautifully in her own right. Especially this particular performance, she's pitch perfect
It's not shown here, but Nancy is also a fine guitarist, very underrated in my opinion.
Nancy was also sick. She recorded it under the weather. Simply magical voices, both.

As good as Ann Wilson? Well, no, Ann is on a level on her own but Nancy is clearly a talented singer and an excellent guitarist. Her singing, in harmony with Ann, was a huge part of their hits from the very beginning. I always had a thing for Nancy, lol.

The 80's music standard was so high ... I'm just not able to move on... legends, legends, legends ....
The creative age
I don't know about that ... the 80s was my time, junior high, high school, college and finally the start of my career right at the tail end of the decade. There was a lot of garbage music getting airplay in the 80s too and many of us at the time preferred music from the late 60s through the 70s. It's really only the good music from that era that you hear now ... and it is interesting to see what continues to get airplay and the popular music from then that has seemed to drop off the face of the planet.
@@johnmininger7472 in comparison to today I think it’s great music. There were decent rock, & pop hits. It ended Disco music.

I may still have cassette tapes purchased in the 80s that I didn't replace with CD. My point was that the statement that the 80s music standard was so high simply isn't true, there was good music and it also had its share of bad music. People tend to be nostalgic.
Bought that on vinyl the day it was released. Stood in line. Would have stood for days if needed.
LOL
Take care.
