No worries everyone the transmission was bad well before i picked it up, and the reasoning it was cheap. It never was meant to tow a camper and this was more of a fun bit to test a kia lol.
Towing that camper is why the transmission is walking the plank right now!

you beat me to it.. lol right after talking about the transmissio.. Can it tow a 7500 lbs trailer? the answer is actually no... unless you dont mind your trans taking a dump

Such a good choice, and a perfect fit for this channel. I still see these old Kia Sportage/Hyundai Tuscon's on the road almost every day. Most of them did not have an easy life. They are bought by people who need a car to get to work and live their lower or middle class lifestyle running errands and being relied upon for basic transportation needs. The 2.7L V6 is one of their best engines to own off warranty. The 250k on this one is no surprise.
This generation Sportage/Tuscon as well the rest of Hyundai/Kias of this era was the transition generation between “old” and “new” Hyundai/Kia imo.
This gen Sportage aged well. I think this looks better than the latest model.

A friend of mines wife had one of these cars. With a four. Drove it a couple of times. Loved it. Man a V6 is cool. Towing. Want one now. ❤💙💜🧡👌😎

A friend of mine had a 2008 LX V6 since new and it never had any problems or broke down. This was one of the best generations in my opinion. He traded it in for a newer Colorado truck when the Sportage got old.
My mom had this exact car except it was black And fwd . We had to get rid of it because some thieves stole the catalytic converter back in 2022 and the insurance totalled it

LX was the base model on this generation Zack lol. This most likely has a package that added the sunroof and fog lights.
I think the LX trim is a lower trim or at least it has been for at least the last 10 years. It seems the only options it has is the V6 and AWD. I would think if it was a higher trim it would at least have power seats and automatic climate control.

Best thing about this generation of sportage is the ability to create a 2.4m flat load bay in it. The back seats fold flat as well as the passenger front giving a cavernous interior that rivals small vans.
This was a dramatic upgrade from the 1st generation, though it completely changed the utility from the body-on-frame first generation.
Seems like a sweet vehicle! I think it still looks good. I’m a sucker for heated and power seats these days though. A manual would make it more fun too!
LX was the lowest trim, EX is the higher one. This has some options checked like the sunroof, but it is still the lower trim model.

my parent had a kia Sportage (manual) and i love that car, is the perfect size, i felt that it was always ready for anything you wanted,
they sell it and bought a 2014 sorento and i really don't like it, it has the typically blind spot for being a suv, it feels a little too delicate and plasticky

I had a 2006 Tucson with the same engine it was amazing drove good I got it from my grandparents and they got the car when I was just a year old (I’m 19) born in 2005 so it was awesome when I got to drive the car that I grew up in. I did end up trading it in and got a 2018 Elantra which I love as well but I do miss being higher up in a SUV

With thoes blocky and rugged looks it does not look like a front-wheel drive
Pro limits 2000 lbs but you can pull across the driveway that's that's fine
I look at this car and i get a sense of it trying to copy the 1st Gen Rx 300.....like many crossovers from this time.......

Well, in Europe people tow anything with normal cars, so it's possible
@Parrotdise290 that's because european trailers are an entire different animals. All trailers have the axles forward to alleviate tongue weight. This particular one in Europe would have a higher row rating because of that.
@@Parrotdise290 They don't really have a choice since they don't have pickup trucks and full-size SUVs over there. Their trailers are tiny anyway. I saw a Toyota Yaris in the US towing a landscaping trailer that would usually be towed by a 1500 pickup, just because it can physically pull it doesn't mean it should.
@@bwofficial1776 Yes, pick up trucks exist, but indeed not the full-size ones, at least officially because you see them sometimes but they were individually imported or maybe specialists. Anyway, you see sometimes large trailers, but people who can afford it use diesel SUVs or pick up trucks, others use wagons or sedans.

I still see these crappy cars still rolling around. No one's first choice but they seem surprisingly difficult to kill. Just don't try to tow something that should be towed with a truck.

Check the tps. It may have a dead spot in it.
It was checked. I replaced it with a refurbished one and was programmed. Made no difference.
That explains the trans issue
