Prize Winners - ICM 2018

It’s the moment we’ve been waiting for for the last 4 years - the announcement of a new batch of award winners. Spotlighting some of the world’s best mathematicians, and highlighting their great work, we took a look at this year’s awards ceremony, and stopped by the press conference. This year’s winners include: Peter Scholze, Caucher Birkar, Akshay Venkatesh and Alessio Figalli (Fields Medals), Constantinos Daskalakis (Nevanlinna Prize), David L Donoho (Gauss Prize), Masaki Kashiwara, (Chern Medal), Ali Nesin (Leelavatti Prize).

All the winners are very good. I am happy that an Italian and a Greek have won the Medal. The Greeks are brothers of the Italians so I am happy for Constantino too.
