Ah, my apologies, I didn't know that. Thanks for sharing! I wish we would have gotten them here in the US. But it's also fun hunting for parts to create a version we never got. Cheers!
Great episode! Have always wanted a set of those seats too. Btw, you're right about the folding mirrors. My JDM Hawkeye has them and they're operated by pressing a button in the control panel of the door card.
I actually use them every day but that's because my "garage" is an old, wooden, farming shed (I live in the Japanese countryside) and the only way I can get the car in is by reversing it diagonally with the mirrors folded in!! Apart from that, I tend to use them in crowded car parks, just to reduce the risk of someone else hitting them.👍
You can also use a Safety Razor to start with to get the bigger chunks off then use lint shaver. Try not to pull the big chunks up by hand, this can cause more fibers to be pulled from base material.
That darker gear shifter surround is from a JDM Spec C (competition) which is essentially the GD version of the GC ‘Type RA’ (Race/Rally Addition/Application) 👍
If you get a V7 cluster, iwire sells a harness adapter that'll make it run in MPH. It goes on the harness at the transmission. And is super easy and affordable
Woah, thats awesome. I love iwire! I had no idea they offered that wiring though. Now I'm gonna be thinking about switching to the V7 cluster. I do love the color and all the features on the V8 but the V7 seem cool as well.
,Those seats are awesome,I have JDM seats in my Wrx ,I’ve been told the jdm hug better because they are made for the smaller Japanese statcher.even here in Australia our seats are slightly larger to accommodate a larger body.wasn’t sure if it was true but have been in other Wrxs and have noticed a difference.once again great video and the STI is coming along nicely
Yes, definitely! I do have an old STI genome exhaust but it needs be fixed before install it. The welds were adapted to fit a 3" mid pipe. Its super shotty work and I just didn't feel right about installing it before I fix it nice.
Love the outro sentiment at the end. My GD has been sitting for 6 months! Remind us what you're using for engine management again, open source tuned by yourself?
Woah, yeah you're right. I just looked them up and compared the two and I never noticed that before. The difference is pretty subtle but definitely not the same. It appears that's the only difference though. Thanks for letting me know!
Hey my n-word I know I'm a little late but then you put the engine together I didn't notice if you put the timing belt guide that goes on the manual cars. It goes above the crank sprocket. If I'm wrong cool, if you need any bugeye parts I'm parting out mine. Has some goodies, have an nrg harness bar in blue and an invidia up pipe. Whatever jawn you need glad to see the progress. Inspiring 🤓☝️💪💪
Love all your videos, she coming out beautiful. But I need help my 2010 Subaru wrx is not engaging gears while car is running. It’s got brand new clutch and pressure plate, throw out bearing, fork, clutch slave cylinder and master cylinder. My clutch pedal is low and all gears are stuck in time. Please help me to figure this out as I kind of exhausted everything. Thanks
That intro was absolutely mesmerizing!!!! more of this please
i love my v7 seats, hold me really well and super comfy
The car is coming along amazingly! I wish that my bugeye’s interior is just as clean as yours. Great job 🤙🏽
Love the videos man, keep it up. BTW South Africa and Australia also got the bugeye STI. Im in SA and I have a black one.

Awesome! Thank you for clarifying. Are they worth having? Do you use that feature often?

I used a electric lint shaver on my seats to get them smoothed back out
You can also use a Safety Razor to start with to get the bigger chunks off then use lint shaver. Try not to pull the big chunks up by hand, this can cause more fibers to be pulled from base material.
Great ideas guys! Thanks for the tips. I'll definitely try it out as I want these seats to last and look as clean as possible.
V7 seats are the best. i got them in my hawkeye sti

Hell yeah, good info. Thanks for sharing.
Aaron subie electronics makes an adapter harness for the mirrors & the headlights I’d check them out top notch quality
Yes id recommend Aaron subie electronics also! I have the folding mirror adapter and morette headlight wiring harness. Top quality products!
Cool, thanks for the heads up! I'll definitely check them out.

Much appreciated as always! That's interesting and I wouldn't be surprised if they were meant to be smaller.

Keep your eye out on Genome parts

Looks awesome man. I'm pretty sure that steering wheel is off a Vers6 STI tho, Bug STI momo badge is different.

Also on the radiator the cap is supposed to be 1 way check valve no? I think you have a 2 way check valve moto iq touched on that just checking☝️🤓
You can probably try and swap your USDM lower rails to get height adjustment back
I Want an wrx so Bad
Get it!!
What sucks is you can't use the 2004 STi console. The parking brake is backwards.
I know! I really wish there was a way to fit that console. That is the one interior piece that was terribly designed. Sits way too low to be useful...

I would leave them off
Are you referring to the rear side skirt spats?
