Before the dark times before Kathleen Kennedy
Rip Star Wars 1977-2012
Before the Empire. Before Disney, you mean.
@@josueveguilla9069 Disney is the Empire, Kennedy is Darth Vader, Rian Johnson is Moff Tarkin.
I would say 2014 because clone wars ended in 2014.
@@woahwoah2207 fact
1977 - 1999
This 7 min fan made video > the entire sequel trilogy.
And prequels
Darkness1984 nah prequels are gold.
@@Langford-Artist I'm with you on that one.
Same
Just accept prequels are better than seqeuls because if not 50 of my braincells will die
The prequel trilogy meshes so well with OT. I don’t care what other people say!
Well it's the wonderful universe of George Lucas. For me, if it's made by Lucas I accept it. It's HIS story.
It fits much better with the OT than the Sequels do. The so-called "Sequels" are just shallow reboots in disguise.
It's great story, just not executed very well. Too much happening for just three movies.
@@ltb1345 100%!!!!!
@@jakubgrzybek6181 That's why we got the clone wars lol. But I do agree with you.
Man....seeing this makes me....miss the good days of Star Wars...a lot.

BringBackTheGood DaysOfUA-cam
Same
You mean the times before 1999.
BringBackTheGood DaysOfUA-cam We’re still in those days.
The days before TLJ.
More proof Disney has no clue what they're doing.
@@TapiKoks Honestly I think the best decision at this point would be to abandon Star Wars altogether and pretend Return of the Jedi was the last Star Wars movie.
So did lucas when he made the prequels.
With the exception of TLJ, I think Disney did a good job with the other films. Rouge One was truly a Star Wars movie.
@@Darkness1984 actually if you take away the bad direction and poor voice acting, the story of the prequels is really freaking good.
THIS is Star Wars.
HE ACTUALLY DID IT.
THE ABSOLUTE MADMAN.
@Sir Isaac Brock no! man
Bryton Cherrier That cool Jeremy take time to listen to his fans that’s Geek Man👊👊
Gives me the feels, how dare those idiots ruin our star wars
You mean Lucas when he made the prequels?
Darkness1984
I’m sorry, I think Ryan has your green sea cow milk ready and warmed up for you.
Go away now and look at the flashing lights, it’s Christmas after all.
@@silent_stalker3687 Aw and im sure Lucas has your sand on the play ground ready for you to play with.
Darkness1984 no one is saying the prequels aren’t shit because they definitely are although they have their moments. The sequels are also shit and I don’t see a star wars movies reaching the level of ESB ever again tbh!
The Last Jedi gave me PTSD.
We all got PTSD
Last Jedi hurt me more than Oder 66 ever could.
Lol yes
@@Obi-Wan_Kenobi I'm sure watching The Ass Jedi was worse than watching your brother, watching the man you raised from childhood burn on Mustafar.
The Force Awakens gave me Herpies.
Dude when I first saw this I freaking cried. But it just shows how methodical George was in how he did the prequels even though he got a lot of shit for it.
George lucas seems to be the only true director of star wars movies to keep the movie stories pure, detailed, and complete. We'd be lucky to have him back directing and writing.
Omg, this was perfection. Obi-wan having ptsd I have to say does make sense. Remember him saying he loved Anakin right after he thought he handed Anakin his death sentence by cutting off his remaining human limbs. That would be enough to cause ptsd in itself aside from all the other things (losing Qui-gon, Geonosis and finding the dead younglings in the temple)
Not recognizing R2 was a little odd. R2 should know wh Kenobi is.
@@BokaLokaToka R2 and C3PO got their memories wiped at the end of Episode 3.
@@morticianflame How do you know that? Not in the movie. Did you read that in a book?
@@BokaLokaToka - At the end of Episode 3 Bail Organa orders for C3PO's memory to be wiped. R2 is left alone though.
He thought of him as a friend and a brother, having the choice being you have to kill someone so close like that will fuck anyone up.
Jeremy now you can play with your Saber just like Luke. The new one you just got.
I said this on The Council of Jeremy's stream.
I love Episode III because it makes Episode IV even better, and this video proves it.
Hell, when you watch the fight between Vader and Kenobi in III, it makes the fight in IV more powerful.
People give a lot of shit to III but don't realize how great of a movie it really is.
Bro Episode III is up there with the original trilogy
Bryton Cherrier - Agreed
... also, in my opinion, III has the best light sabre duel ever... in any Star Wars film...
Episode III is my favorite Star Wars movie outside the Original Trilogy
it's up there with empire, and has the most raw emotion of the entire 8 films
The video has more story in it than the sequel trilogy.
I saw this awhile ago and it honestly, it is why I am still a Star Wars fan. Disney can hire asshats like Rian Johnson to try and ruin it. They can try their damndest to get this Old School fan to just walk away but, they can't. They can't take away the 7 year old in me that watched Episode 4 in the theater with their " vision" of what to do. I recently lost my Dad and remember just how much we shared the 6 films and that video reminded me of watching it with both my parents.
I am sorry for your loss. You had an awesome Dad. May the force be with you..always
This one is so emotional. "The Chosen One" video is great too. Both made by people who just love Star Wars. None of this corporate bullshit
That's another good one. I love watching the type of Star Wars videos that just make you want to cry(in a good way, not in a Kathleen Kennedy is ruining the franchise way).
Kenobi by Heroes Fan Productions is also really good.
I like the greatest teachure failure is too. It's very good even if I hate the sequels. You see that the sequels had a lot of potential when you watch this video.
"Before the Dark Times" is good as well.
The chosen one is the greatest star wars fan video ever, in my opinion.
Shit!... I started to cry a little watching this!
metoo
Me too! Hashtag...
It's amazing how someone can make a video with a few edits and cuts, throws in emotional music, and it's still better than the Last Jedi.
Im glad that there is someone else who enjoys the prequels the way I do
That’s a great video, great editing. And the performance that Alec Guinness gave back when making the original Star Wars, where he’s having Obi-Wan thinking about what to say and remembering so much into that specific world that didn’t exist at that point yet, where at most there were just vague outlines written down regarding backstory to the original film Lucas had, is really incredible. Great reaction as well. I haven’t watched this specific video in a long time. I really enjoy it. It’s truly an amazing watch.
This makes me cry every time cause it really shows obi wan went through emotional hell he lived in a time of uncertainty a string was unraveling and he was scared but brave he belived in his teaching and way of life only to do one of the hardest things he has ever done he had to fight against his love for anakin and do what was best for the universe but not for him and as a result he lived with the torture of killing someone he cared for realizing the effect of anakin actions, obi wan lost faith in the jedi way and only was able to come back through the hope luke could bring, the first 6 films are an oprea of love and how we connect with each other and when someone hurts us we have to do the impossible to get by and end the end though all the trama life finds a way to fix things
So many intelligent things they coulda explored with star wars... but hey, we got Porgs.

I remember when I watched that video, I went in expecting it to just be a meme, but it actually blre me away and made me want to watch more star wars
I love that video. I watch it every now and then to remind me of the heart Star Wars used to have. Before the dark times. Before Disney :'( Never in a million years would I have believed something as human as Star Wars could be reduced to the empty shell it is today. I feel genuine grief for that. 40 years of blood, sweat and tears swept away in 1 foul move... as if the Death Star itself hit us. I want it back, Jeremy T_T
I've seen that video in particular and there's a couple other ones that blend the original and prequel trilogies together like that. That's what starwars is, acknowledging and knowing what came before and the story of it all.
If they did this with Rey it would just be flashbacks to people getting wasted in cantinas. Thanks Rian!
well said :D
Yeah and she's be flashing back while saying "I like this!"
Whoa. Just wow. I haven't really had any drive to rewatch the entire Saga but after watching this, it's as though it reignited that spark that I had as a kid. I grew up on the prequels and my parents had the original VHS versions of the Original Trilogy. I could never get enough of Star Wars back then and after Disney took over it slowly drained my desire to watch Star Wars and the Last Jedi was the nail in the coffin but after watching this... I'm logging off Destiny 2 for a few days (my Warlock can wait a bit...) and I'm gonna binge this masterpiece once more. Thank you to this Sam Moore guy and thank you to Jeremy and the guy who recommended this to him. That hit me harder than I thought it was going to.
I thing that makes me a compelling character is the fact that I stuck to my morals and principles when everything I ever loved and hoped for was destroyed. I never gave up, and never blamed anyone else for my mistakes. I kept going because I knew the galaxy depended on me. And it took an entire generation but guess what? Sith were defeated, the Jedi had bright future, and balance to the Force was restored. *Never give up and always fight for what you believe in.*
Congrats on 97,000 subs!
Absolutely beautiful...it'll make you watch ANH and when you see this conversation between Obi-Wan and Luke, you picture those cuts back to the Prequel era and it absolutely FITS in perfectly.
Such brilliant storytelling in the first 6 films.
This just makes me want to watch the OT again, for the umpteenth time. My buddy and I went to see 'A New Hope' in '77. We were both 17 and it blew us away. It was unlike anything we'd ever seen before. It really was a special film. I remember the audience just sat silently for a moment after it was over, like we were processing what we'd just seen. When I think how Disney had Luke end up, I'm sickened, disgusted and angry. Then I remind myself of Zahn's sequel novels and I tell myself, THAT is canon, not Disney's twisted crap. To imagine, none of these actors thought Star Wars would go anywhere. The crew didn't understand what the hell Lucas was doing. They just shrugged and followed his lead, thinking the film would flop. Then out of this bewildering process came this wonderful, heartfelt adventure. I don't care what anyone says about George, the Prequels, his directing abilities etc. I think he's a f**king genius and I appreciate the 40 years joy I've derived from what he created. Thank you George Lucas.
Honestly these videos are so amazingly star wars, this is the fandom George created, say what you will about his execution he created something amazing with an effect thsts never been fully replicated that touched lives to a point where people were emotionally pulled into the universe and even the most hardened cynics found it hard not to care about the universe and charecters, it brought geek culture into a mainstream light, it brought people together. Diseney tried to kill that, for some people they did kill it but videos like these, things like the vader fan film or Ivans re-edit keep me in it, star wars is so much bigger than the films, it's a community, its a world, its people brought together and no Hollywood elite ass holes can take this away from us.
Watch Kenobi and The chosen one by heroes fan production. Those videos are the most "Star Wars" I ever saw. It shows you that Star Wars is great and will forever be great. Even Disney can't kill Star Wars.
Thanks for posting this. This was beautiful, real, Star Wars.
Watching that made me hurt. I thought I was prepared to just be done with Star Wars and seeing that just made my heart ache about how wonderful it was and how its being destroyed now. Ive not had feels like this in a long time.

I can't be alone in wanting to cry. Love Star Wars.
This brought me chills and tears to see what was going through obi wan’s mind as he was talking to luke
This clip just made me realize I've been running away from SW because of the pain caused by Disney's Lucasfilm and it helped me remember why I first fell in love with this series 20 years ago.
I didn’t think I’d ever appreciate the Prequel Trilogy for what it was. This video definitely chant my mind so thanks to Miguel and thanks to Jeremy for posting your reaction video.
Amazing video! After watching it, all I can say is: FU to Kathleen Kennedy, Rian Johnson and LucasFilm for f--king up a great franchise. Star Wars should be taken away from Disney, and put into the hands of someone who would take good care of it.

I love how in all of these reaction videos, the universal response to the flashbacks of younger Obi Wan is a big smile. It's so heartwarming.
Thanks to TLJ, you're nearing 100k. *SO THE LAST JEDI DID SOMETHING GOOD!*
But at what cost?!

Jeremy makes some great videos but I would much rather have an amazing Episode 8 than Geeks and Gamers. Sorry.
I feel really bad but i never watched this assumming it was ytp or a parody, this makes annakin absolutely terrifying
This is very emotional... it brings me back. Very solid editing job. Thank you!
Exactly everything Star Wars encompasses. Sith. Jedi. Man vs Man. Eternal struggle.
Yeah, old vs new - Alive vs No heart or soul just plastic and disposable.
Wow that was beautiful. Thanks for doing this, I’d never heard of that vid and it does remind why I love Star Wars so much (and ROTS being my fave).
Popped up in recommended feed a while back and always makes my eyes water every time I've watched this. Guinness' performance ties in with the music beautifully
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. This was very powerful and moving. I’ve seen all of the movies more times than I can count, but I’ll never watch them the same again!
That was absolutely awesome! Really loved this edit
So close to 100k!! You deserve it, Jeremy. Keep speaking up for yourself on behalf of all Star Wars fans 🙌
F*cking rian johnson...
WOW!!! So good! Gave me chills. That's the way you respect the universe. Best thing I have seen from Star Wars in a long time.......long time.
Alec’s facial expressions really told a story. That is great acting.
Great video edit!!! “Obi-Wan has PTSD” was AWESOME!!!
There's a saying that you can't go home again. The creativeness that was there for the franchise may never come again, but you still have the two trilogies.
Oh man, editing it in the prequel scenes makes every gesture and expression Alec Guineas makes so much more powerful.
That video just reminds me of Star War's current state. It makes you look at Star Wars, an old childhood friend, and seeing that life has not been kind to them.
The flashbacks made the scene so much more memorable. Knowing the history that Obi-wan had with Anakin, his fall, and the subsequent fall of the jedi, it shows how great Sir Alec Guiness' portrayal was. Thanks for reacting to this and thank you to whoever put it together. All films have weak points but this shows that the prequels enrich the Star Wars universe. Prequel haters need to get off their collective high horse ! ! Great video Jeremy ! ! Best wishes for you and yours for the new year.
I actually got emotional watching this, thanks for getting this out
The music in the dark times clips gave me chills. Awesome video
O M G. I had goosebumps during that and I started tearing up at the end. So powerful. Miguel, nice one for nagging Jezza and huge respect to the creator and all of the creators of any 'real' Star Wars content. Jezza, I wish I could subscribe again. Keep it up people.
I had watched ANH about six months ago on VHS the pre THX SE one and it made me feel like a kid again. This was just beautiful.
Sir Guinness was a genius. He's a broken old man that lost everything reminiscing about better days with his good friend's son. Very well put together.
That was absolutely amazing. A thing of beauty. Actually really emotional.
Audience: So how do you remember things you didn't see or experience directly?
Obi-Wan: The Force knows many ways...
I never watched that video but man, that was so cool! That video alone looks like it belongs in a Star Wars movie or show. In a part when they address a character's mental state
The third video on the right "before the dark times"? It's basically a rehash of this video however it is emotionally more powerful and it made me weep dude. So powerful, the music too... Just a powerful piece of editing.
I think I saw this before your video. But, loved it all the same. Yet another reason to appreciate Obi Wan's character and Star Wars as a whole. This is what I miss
this is star wars and this made me emotional, this is why we love star wars and why star wars is a big part of our life!
I cried the first time I watched it and I almost cried again today. It really is a master piece of editing. Uncle E should make a reaction video too.
My favorite Obi-Wan line was
Hello There?
That was Awesome! that is how you make people excited for Star Wars!
Alec Guiness....what an actor! Obi-wan was always my favorite character right from the beginning.
Hey Jeremy! Like you, I haven't watched any of the OT or PT since TLJ. But this video choked me up.. you couldn't have summed up my thoughts any better when you simply said "I love Star Wars". I really miss my love for Star Wars
That was beautiful. I smiled and cried.
I love that video. It truly shows how beautiful and amazing Star Wars has always been to us.. the space epic that we will always cherish. Now ruined by these unprofessional idiots at Lucasfilm/ Disney. This new crappy sequel trilogy will NEVER be able to invoke such emotions in anyone, not even the newer fans.
That was the most powerful and beautiful thing I have seen in a long time. Wow. Bravo!
What a powerful edit. And how talented was Alec Guinness? It looks as if he actually lived the events of the prequel trilogy. Bravo Sir Alec!
A great reminder of the magic of Star Wars and George's genius! Bravo!
I saw that video earlier this year, absolute work of art
Gives me the chills, everytime, now thats real quality
That... is true Star Wars. Amazing. Thanks for sharing!
Wow! That was beautifully done! Just...wow!
That was SO. DAMN. GOOD! I love Ewan Macgregor's reaction when Quigon is impaled by Darth Maul. It doesn't feel "acted". It's such a raw emotional reaction, it feels like Ewan is losing his best friend, instead of Obi-wan.
You should react to more of these like the chosen one and before the dark times
It gave me a tear to my eye.
This is what entertainment used to be like, Oh, how I miss this.
Thanks Jeremy for posting this.
You can call me a lier but I teared up during this it was so impactful just wow
All the images in that video were done by one director: George Lucas😍😍😍
I was laughing at this a month ago, such good editing.
Wow. That was amazing, but also pissed me off again at what Rian Johnson did to SW.
The whole fandom has PTSD since KK, JJ and Roundhead RJ my friend!
man, this made me tear up. not gonna lie, this was really well done.
Someone should recreate this but do it as ‘you’ remembering the good ol’ days of star wars... before the dark times... before... last jedi
I really loved the inside look on Obi Wan's mind and all the bad things that happened. The music does a lot too, but this truly great and really gets your mind going. Nice prequel sequences. After all he has been through, no wonder he is a little damaged.
Jeremy, THANK YOU FOR THIS! I didn't know about the original video. I wanna say: this is depressing and uplifting at the same time. It's depressing because of Disney Star Wars (don't have to go into detail here, we all know), but it's uplifting because I think people will find videos like this and it will feel like a well deserved recognition (and maybe even an apology towards) to George Lucas' legacy. I won't rewrite history just because the new movies are awful: the prequels are certainly flawed and probably the only one that can sit at the table with the OT is Revenge of the Sith. HOWEVER, the fact that this compilation of scenes can happen and have such impact is the empirical, unquestionable evidence that says: THESE MOVIES MEANT SOMETHING; THEY HAD HEART; CHARACTERS AND AN ACTUAL PLOT. Unlike Kennedy, Lucas actually had a plan and a true desire to share something meaningful with the fans. I haven't rewatched the OT or the prequels since TLJ, but now I think I will. Don't let Disney take that away from you.
The new stars wars did something good for me. It made me relook at the prequels and really appreciate them. They're not perfect but they did do a good job.
This video reminded me how much I used to love Star Wars
