I have done camping, backpacking and kayaking with my daughter since she was a child! She is 30 now. She’s moved away and we don’t get to do stuff together as often and l miss that so much! Cherish these moments! I know your mom does! I have a Labrador retriever l take adventuring with me now and she’s great company! Your dog is very well behaved!

Can't tell you now many times I've been out to one of the spoil islands in the Indian River Lagoon and come across a bunch of stuff just left behind. I've tried clearing some of it out but its just too much for one person on a kayak sometimes. Keep up the awesome videos

I live in Rhode Island and love exploring our beautiful bay. I appreciate you cleaning up the trash you found on that beach. Our bay has come a long way since I was a kid in terms of pollution but it still has a long way to go.

Hahaha, it was such a cool spot for sure! We launched from Island Park Beach in Portsmouth right across from Tiverton. It was only a mile long paddle, so very doable 👍 Rhode Island has so much to do & explore... very easy to forget it's the smallest state. Appreciate you watching, cheers!

Great video! It's good to spend time with your mom/family when you can. Especially if they also enjoy the same activities as you. When headed back west, you can probably try to camp as some spots along the ohio river, as there look to be a few islands on it. Just make sure you don't have a lock/damn between your dropoff and the island.

So many cool places to check out in RI!! Definitely doesn't feel like the smallest state, so much to explore 🤩 I wanna check out Dutch Island at some point too 🏝️
for sea fishing in that kind of terrain, try a ledger rig with bait. those lures look quite large. a rig made with two hooks and a cheap lead sinker is much less painful to lose than your nice lures. try to scale your hook size down to catch what is around, if you catch too small a fish, try a bigger hook, but not too big or you will catch nothing. bait fishing you can just throw it out and wait, less time casting and snagging. if there's too many snags and weed, try a float rig, but they're not so good in a current. but also you need to match rod size to casting weight, too big a rod won't get a good pop on a light weight, but then too small a rod will struggle with a heavy weight. that's quite a large rod for long casts... cheers for the vids Wes!

Found your channel last night and just finished (1:30 pm EDT) binge-watching EVERY. SINGLE. EPISODE - from the hole in your foot, to those heart-attack inducing cave crickets, to your mom and Preston in Rhode Island. I'm hooked! I've sub'd! You had me at pierogi!! 🥟🥟🥟 My Polish grandmother used to make them, too. My favorites were cabbage, and potato and cheese, with fried onions and a dollop of sour cream. What a delicious culinary flashback! Thanks for that!!!! (There aren't enough exclamation points!!!!!)

Hahaha, it was such a cool spot for sure! We launched from Island Park Beach in Portsmouth right across from Tiverton. It was only a mile long paddle, so very doable 👍 Rhode Island has so much to do & explore... very easy to forget it's the smallest state. Appreciate you watching, cheers!

One clarification, Addams Island off Tiverton is in the Sakonnet River and not Narragansett Bay which is to the west of Portsmouth, RI.
Looks like paradise in Rhode Island!

Great video! It's good to spend time with your mom/family when you can. Especially if they also enjoy the same activities as you. When headed back west, you can probably try to camp as some spots along the ohio river, as there look to be a few islands on it. Just make sure you don't have a lock/damn between your dropoff and the island.

The simple life 💜✨️
for sea fishing in that kind of terrain, try a ledger rig with bait. those lures look quite large. a rig made with two hooks and a cheap lead sinker is much less painful to lose than your nice lures. try to scale your hook size down to catch what is around, if you catch too small a fish, try a bigger hook, but not too big or you will catch nothing. bait fishing you can just throw it out and wait, less time casting and snagging. if there's too many snags and weed, try a float rig, but they're not so good in a current. but also you need to match rod size to casting weight, too big a rod won't get a good pop on a light weight, but then too small a rod will struggle with a heavy weight. that's quite a large rod for long casts... cheers for the vids Wes!

Hey Wes, love your videos. Question... how's the speed in your Sea Eagle. I have the 330X. Very stable, however very slow. Is the Fast Track very fast in your opinion? For reference, I'm guessing I'm at least 35 years older than you as far as paddling goes...
