- Trying to beat Batman: Arkham City without ever taking damage, otherwise I restart the WHOLE game (basically I Am The Night from Arkham Origins, just A LOT more painful)
Rules: If I take damage or die any time during the run, the challenge is unsuccessful and I must restart the whole game in order to try again. No speed run glitches, such as world-breaking and massive game skips, I must only operate using the intended rules of the game.

Despite what I said in the video, challenges for the other games are currently in the works!
1.) I really wanted to make this video much more detailed, but there’ was just too much to go over, and the point of this video was simply to tell my story without taking TOO long. That being said, if you guys want one, I’ll make a longer, more in-depth video to discuss strategy and tips and the details of how I actually did it. Sorry if this wasn’t the type of video you were expecting, but a lot had to be left out or rushed over to save time, and the original script was a lot longer. Keep in mind, I am NOT a speedrunner, which is why it took me so many attempts, and why this specific video doesn't have that much tips and strategy.
2.) No, the Catwoman missions don’t count, I know most of you guys are used to always playing the game with them, myself included, but it is still technically DLC. I’m pretty sure speedrunners also don’t play the game with those missions. I am not counting it for the challenge, because the Two-Face boss fight would make it so much harder, and besides, I think we can all agree that the challenge is hard enough as it is.
3.) Some of the footage was recorded at a different brightness so it wouldn’t be too bad for my eyes, and while I adjusted the brightness later in post, not all of the footage is the same, so sorry if that’s a distraction.
4.)Turn on subtitles at the end of the video for some behind the scenes info (also, Arkham Subreddit people, make sure to turn on the subtitles during any of the montages)
5.) There are certain lines that don’t match up perfectly with the footage being shown or they just sound different, and that is because of a few reasons. First, I wrote the script a few weeks after completing the challenge, then rewrote the whole thing after I didn’t like the first draft, and both times were done purely off of my memory. So most of the mistakes in the script were later changed, but that came with its own set of problems. I had to record my lines in two different locations because of winter break, meaning there was an obvious difference in sound. In order to limit the inconsistency in audio I put in new recordings for the major mistakes, and the rest I would just correct with text on the screen. The other reason is because I have hundreds of hours of footage of me doing this challenge on a hard drive, and it was already a difficult task sorting through the footage to find all the instances of me taking damage, as well as specific parts of the challenge found in the script. So while not every single line of dialogue perfectly matches up with the exact example needed on screen, I did my best and I hope that the final product makes sense for you guys.
6.) Things I would do differently now: I would TAKE IT SERIOUSLY AND PAY ATTENTION. I did a lot of early attempts distracted and impatient, and I wish I had taken my time and focused on each attempt, it probably would have saved a lot of time. I’d also have practiced a bit more before actually starting the challenge. This would have helped a lot considering I went into it completely blind at first. One of the reasons I made it so far on my last attempt was because of how different I was at approaching the challenge and how I took it more seriously.
7.) The music has tracks from Arkham Origins, and that’s only because Origins’ soundtrack is easier to use than City’s, because for some reason City gets copyrighted a lot easier, plus the plan was to have this video come out around Christmas, but oh well. Besides, who doesn’t love Christopher Drake?

I actually really like the pacing. From a sort of story telling perspective it was very good and kept me interested the entire way through. There were multiple highs and lows, each with a unique short story that had me rooting for you the whole way through. Good video guy.

Batman arkham videos is the OG that never takes damage in any of the arkham games. Heck he doesn't even lose his combo somehow
He probably uses a no damage and auto fight script on the game that allows the game to automatically make the right move to progress through the game

I have been toying with the thought of this challenge for some time. I have done 4 no-hit runs of this game, but those were just simple checkpoint restart runs. And I thought they were torture. But now I feel like I have conquered those and can move onto this.

I've had quite a few people commenting on my run recently and finally got someone to explain to me where it was all coming from (here) 😅 Congratulations on completing your run brother! That last bit, when you were about to describe how you felt when you completed it, I thought to myself "relief" right before you said it 🤣 Challenge Running is such a niche corner of gaming that many people don't understand that feeling of relief when you accomplish a run after the MASSIVE amount of time and effort that goes in behind the scenes. You did a great job of capturing that here though we both know this was the tip of the iceberg relative to all the practice and failures that led to it's completion. I have played all the Arkham games since release got the platinum for all of them and did all of the challenge maps with all characters. I saw this and went I can do this easy I went to try it and got hit in the first cat woman section. I have now made it a challenge for myself to do which has made this lol. You have my respect for pulling this off cuz this is a huge challenge.
Finally completed this challenge on normal difficulty a few hours ago after about a month and many attempts (I'd guess around 50.) Huge weight lifted off my shoulders and I'll never do a challenge like this again. Thanks for putting me up to this challenge tho Vigil!

Across all of these game the single most deadly weapon is the thrown object.
I knew it, I swore there were two videos of "no damage runs". But yours is the definitive one. There was another one that I'm ngl was kinda laughable, where they just restarted to checkpoints every time they took damage. This one's really commendable, though.
