A good knife story I have is that my dad has been carrying a Benchmade reflex mini II for as long as I can remember and when I was a kid we were going on a family vacation and had to go to the airport. My dad forgot he had his mini in his pocket and security wouldn't let him through. They gave him the option to get it mailed back home or it would be confiscated. Instead he exits the airport and burries it in the dirt by the drop off area. A week later when we came back he goes to the burial site and his mini was still there. He's still using the knife to this day

My K, I used in Iraq for over a year. When I came home I passed it on to my son who carries it everyday and when he is out with his guard unit. He won't give it back so that's a great sign. (Purchased it in 2006)
I know you followed orders, but I highly dislike you for being part of the cause that is now a huge catastrophe that will last for generations. The time I spent in your country I learned a great deal about the world. Back around year 2001, I worked in a quarry and had a Spyderco with the 4" blade, Endura I think. I used it quite often cutting conveyer belts. While running a stockpile truck I lost it, could find it anywhere . About 6 months later while removing crushed stone from under the bin I had been working under I found it. It was in a puddle where the truck had been parked while being loaded. That knife had been run over hundreds of times.by a truck 22tons.After washing it out I was able to open it. The blade was still in good shape.Took it home and boiled it to get the last of the crud out. Resharpend it, oiled it and used it for a couple of more years.
I got a good knife story: when i was a young lad of about 15, I bought this POS knife set called the "don't tread on me knife combo" or something tacticool (dumb) like that. one day I was fishing off this dock and I got a massive hit, like, rod yanked from my hands, and almost pulled into the water. I grabbed it and over the course of like 30 mins, I proceeded to wrestle this massive flounder to the surface and get it on the dock. this thing was like 2 and a half feet long it was huge. a small crowd of tourists kinda formed around me and I was feeling all cool and stuff cause I am a local and non of these people had probably even scene a founder before, so naturally, to show off, i decided to cut the head off the fish with one swing of my knife. I raised it above my head, brought it down hard, and the fucking handle exploded in my hand, and the blade snapped out, bounced off the dock, wizzed past my head, and anchored itself into the pier 20 feet behind me. it landed about 2 feet from some old ladies that were watching me. Ive never been more embarrassed. and that's when I learned about quality knives.

That is a hilarious story. I have never had one break while use but I slipped up and cut myself while dealing with fish. They are slippery bastards.

Knife story. One night I was drinking at my friends house and ended up walking home. My EDC at the time was a CRKT thunderbolt ( I have big hands) I loved that knife from the day I bought it. That night I slipped in a field. When i awoke the next day I couldn't find my knife. I called my friend to see if I left it at his place and looked all over it was gone.☹ About a yaer later I was walking through the same field and slipped in same place as that night. When I went to stand back up my landed on something metal. It was the same knife. 😲 I gave it a quick cleaning and it just had one spot of rust on the blade and a little oil fixed that right up. Sorry this is so long just felt I had to share

I had a gerber freeman drop point that my dad had gotten me and was my favorite edc. one day I was working on a job site and the belt sheath I had it in opened and dropped it out somewhere, I looked for probably an hour, under the house through the yard and never found it. About 6 months later while on a trip to Minnesota my dad calls me and said he found it, when I asked where he said it was in the top rack of the truck and sent me a picture of the knife in almost perfect condition, it had ridden in the open all winter through ice storms and gold rainy days for the better part of 6 months and not a speck of rust. Needless to say I was happy to have it back, unfortunately I’ve lost it again but I expect it to find its way back one day
I just bought one of these for my wife to carry in her purse.... and you guys were able to put her name on the handle. I got her an orange handle so she can find it easier. Thanks for putting her name on it and shipping so fast. The Boker action is “snappy” and does not scare her opening and closing. That is really important!
As a proud owner of a Kalashnikov(wharnecliffe/reverse tanto) and being a lefty myself, you MUST start offering more left handed options! PLEASE! Ha. Not just BKs, but in general! The first companies that make their popular options in lefty, will surely reap a bountiful harvest. Ha. Love Blade HQ and all the Knife Banters. Keep up the great work guys!

Except they won't reap a bountiful harvest. Companies love money. If lefty knives were very profitable, they'd be doing it all the time. Truth is not many people buy them.
I agree more companies should make a left handed option for their knives. There may not be a lot of us in this world but the availability would be nice for the ones that are.

@@johnpats7024 The reason Ka-Bar knives are called Ka Bar is because Ka Bar is short for "Kodiak Bear" One time a woodsman and guide in Alaska was attacked and he used his (I think it was called Cammillus at the time) knife to fight the bear off. Killing the huge animal in the process... .and sent the story to the knife maker who promptly changed the name of their woodsman knife to "Ka-Bar" as it was short for "Kodiak Grizzly Bear" .

I've had my BladeHQ Kalashnikov for like 8 or so years now. Blue scales with clip point AUS8 steel. Never had the heart to carry it, I didn't want to mar it up or damage it. Been carrying it for 2 days now and man is it handy. I really love this knife.

@@BladeHQ haha my mistake then, luvin your channel, with being from England the gun laws are very tight so a knife is nxt best boys toys, i did hav a 22 250 for deer stalking but it was on my dad's license cos i couldn't get one, it really is crazy hard to even get a shot gun licence an wat sucks even more its illegal to hav a automatic knife on you including butterfly and stiletto so im just going to hav keep watching your channel in envy, can you do something on bayonets in the near future plz, thanks for your work guys 👍✌
Just got my boker strike drop point, with the desert warrior in last week! And I love it! I can't stop fidgeting with the auto button and making that sweet pop! Congrats on 300k guys! Can't wait for the next 300k! The next klash should be a Red, white and blue themed one!

I've got the automat 74 carried it every day ,used it every day for 11 years before the spring broke just got new spring from you guys put one in my knife just like new.
I ordered the Boker Kalashnikov a few months back. They never shipped so I kept the money and saved up. I ended up ordering a KA-BAR USMC.

I lost a victorinox Swiss army knife in the woods for 2 years. It was found and returned by a family member and it still works. Toothpick and tweezers still in it.
ok I got a story I had or have a bench made north folk so to the story is I live on a canyon and I was doing canyon thing and lost my knife after 3 years we got rain and had a mudslide so the next day I went outside and something catches my eye I see a sliver of light coming like a reflection out of the ground it was the north folk I found it was buried in the ground for 3 years and got unearthed after the mudslide
Custom built my 74, bare aluminum handle, s30v blade , titainium clip, upgraded spring.... Pow. A beast.
Syderco salt was my third knife I bought and I dropped it into the ocean off of north Caroline and three days latter while snorkeling I found it

I'm carrying my spear point 47 today,this makes me love it even more.I have had mine for over 2 years and it's still going like new.
I've got a story not a lot of people believe. I was helping a friend work on his 1986 Camaro at my shop. The oil pan had been JB welded to the block. I broke a screwdriver trying to get it off. I pulled out my M16-04Z and used a rubber dead blow hammer to hammer it through the JB Weld. I was able to lift myself six inches off the ground. I'm not a light guy. I was 225 LBS at the time. I just knew it would snap. The blade never broke on me. I used it for another year before I gave it to a friend once he made Life Scout. Ever since then, it's been his EDC knife. He loves it and I had a backup M16-04Z that I've been carrying for the past 5 years. I've never had one mess up on me like Kershaw and Gerber have.
I have the Boker Green Mamba Kalashnikov and it did in fact deploy in my pocket. Cut me pretty good too. Understandable though because I carry a bunch of crap in my pocket with it. Still love it.

@@BladeHQ i have a story to tell, this pocket knife (gerber freescape folding sheath knife) was my favorite pocket knife, o owned it for 3 years and it went through alot of use, it had 17cr17mov stainless steel, it didnt hold a great edge, but it had a parcheally serrated edge so it really didnt need alot of sharpening, i batonned wood with it, chopped with it and, many more things. I lost it in some snow at a campsite when i was chopping away at a tree, i was wearing slippery gloves and i still miss it till this day. I lost it last year. It was a beast and the best knife under 40 euros.
Ok guys here is my Kalashnikov story. I got mine from you guys at your very first store front in Lehi by the old family Dollar and you had to call for someone to meet you there so probably at least 20 yrs ago. This thing has been through hell and back. Camping, work, survival trips you name it. It's seen so much use the handle has no color left it's just aluminum now and never has it let me down still fires strong and has original spring blade is funny shape now but WTH. Has been sharpened on you name it from wet stones to a price of sandstone in the creek. I think I should bring it over and donate it to you guys to let people see just how tough these things are.

My dad has a Kershaw Ken Onion Chive that he found leading on the ground outside the post office one day. After about a year, he lost it in the fall. About six months later, after all the snow and everything, he was doing something in the yard and found the knife laying there. There was zero rust and the knife functions perfectly. Probably the best knife story I've witnessed
The Kalashnikov is pretty cool. I picked up a couple of the CA legal Sub Kalashnikovs and swapped the blade into the normal size Kalishnokov handle. Near perfect fit too with no other modifications.
That damascus steel is the most beautiful blade I've seen yet.

I’ve had one of these for about 10 years now. Carried off and on as an EDC workhorse and it has been abused pretty hard. Now like some kind of sign from the knife gods, the spring broke in it about half way through this video when I opened it. Time to order a new one.
Purple needs to happen absolutely. Would finish my edc out with a color matching knife.
I had an Orange County coppers edition kershaw leek. Almost the exact story except I was just a boy, around 10. Lost my knife after sitting down to widdle with it, short attention spans as I right? Found it 8 months later after that winter. Still works to this day 9 or 10 years later
I GOT LUCKY on Donut Day and got me the 3.25" DESSERT WARRIOR the other day.
Such an awesome knife. I leave it in the "clip", though.

Well it's not a complete story yet, but i lost one in pretty shallow water at a favorite waterfall fly fishing spot of mine, along with a leatherman rev, and im still hopeful that i will find it. We shall see. I did replace it. I have both the mini and the grey and black semi serrated. Decent knives. I like them. Not my goto EDC. Still love my CRKT fossil. I know, i know. It just flips so nice!
I’m really sorry to be negative, but I have two and they both have the same issue. The button sticks out too far and that’s no big deal. However, the way the release mechanism is designed makes it a big deal. As you depress the button slowly (or it get’s squeezed in your pocket), the tip of the knife protrudes from the handle before the release catch fires the blade. It’s tip up carry in the pocket. I cut myself twice reaching in my pocket because the tip was sticking out. I’ve got two that are the same. I took out the button on one, shortened it below the handle and it worked, but it was a little harder to fire of coarse. Again, sorry to be negative. I love you guys. I just thought it was important to share if people could cut themselves if they carry it wrong.
My daily carry is a boker sub Kalashnikov in D2. The thing is small but a beast.

Speaking of lefty’s using knives with right hand pocket clips when I first started carrying a knife i kept my knife in my left pocket and would transfer it to my right hand when I wanted to use it, the only reason I did that was because I didn’t want it interfering with my phone which I kept in that pocket
I helped build a house for this well known globalist. During the project I lost my Kershaw leek gold finish somewhere in the attic. I was upset, but I moved on. After about six years I went back to the house for a service call and happened to find myself back in that attic. There was a duct that I had to climb over to get to the problem, but as I shine my light in front of me I can see a glimmer on top of the duct. I don’t know how, but there was my knife stuck into the duct board like it was Excalibur. I honestly think some other tradesmen found it and left it in a manner to help me find it. I for sure thought it was buried in insulation.
I literally bought a purple handle Microtech LUDT BECAUSE they didn't make the star wars series in a purple blade. You have no idea how much I'd cherish a purple blade Kalash with "say what again!" Engraved on the blade (shout out to his character in pulp fiction).
That Tiffany blue handle is pretty sweet!

Just ordered a Ben Blue Kalashnikov and I'll be watching for the blue and green blade versions! I carry a Benchmade 9100SBK and Kizer Vanguard Mini Sheepdog (in Ben Blue, of course), but this Kalash will definitely join the rotation.

I have one it’s a great everyday knife takes a beating. It exceeded all my expectations. I have beat on mine for about a year it’s mint for what you spend you can’t find a better knife. Not the best steel but it’s usable easy to tune up . I pry with mine cut everything from bumpers to wires and seat belts can’t beat it

My knife story: Was going to a concert In Bell Isle, Michigan. Forgot I had my Boker in my pocket. was told to get rid of it. but we took a bus from Detroit to the Isle. so I buried next to a tree. Came back 4 hours later to get my knife and security came over to me and said he watched me bury it, and wanted to make sure I came back or he'd have a free knife. that was 4 years ago and still using my Boker Kalashnikov.

I'm excited about the left handed one. Put a glass breaker on it, and i'll buy 3. I'm a LEO, and i cant access my right pocket due to my gun. Other than a fixed blade on my belt, I've always carried in my left pocket. I've been carrying the SOG Trident elite because i can deploy it left handed with the thumb stud and it has a glass breaker (which i've used many times). Perfect world: I would want one with a left hand, serrated blue sheeps foot blade, with a glass breaker.

My spyderco endure clip came off in the Apache and prevented us from taking off. Cost the army about $40,000. They sent me a brand new one that made it through Afghanistan.

I have several Boker Kalashnikov knives from you folks. Great knife, but also tell them about the Boker Plus Strike Automatic Knife. It has a safety, and I like the handle better. And it comes for a similar budget.
Just recieved my zt 0393 glcf. amazing knife. a little overkill on the packaging. however i would 100% buy that purple bladed Kalashnikov.

Hey guys, for the Kalashnikov, I've one of the small ones - no story. Oh, regarding the rifle, the Germans actually produced the first of those types during WWII-the Stromgavahar (sp?-something like that, not spelled right and off the top of my head) - don't know but I'd guess he may have seen one of those from a deceased Nazi, realized that this assault rifle was so differently designed from what they had-so many years later it came to him and w/help, drew up his own design from what he'd found on the battlefield-it was somewhat different but same principles! I had to choose between a kalashnikov or a boker plus strike and I went with the strike cause I risk accidentally hitting the button and I need the lock safety in case someone who doesn’t know how knives work, can’t hurt them selves. Hard choice but I had to choose

I've had my Kalashnikov for seven years, and it's till going strong. The handle is extremely worn, and I need to sharpen it, but it's fine otherwise.
