The perfect car in this class would have the driving dynamics of the jaguar, the infotainment system of the BMW 3 series, the interior of the Audi A4 and the comfort of Mercedes C class. 😩
Nothing wrong with the boot space. Fit two large suite cases. If you want more purchase the XF. Rear seating is fine. Simply slide front seat forward. Plenty of front foot space. Simply Close air vent by the steering wheel. Arm rests are fine. Never had a problem. Never heard any tyre roar. Maybe fit better tyres. The older petrol version is a better engine.

+notformebeaky So then, BMW and MB also wouldn't because their customers have an average age of over 50. Poor quality? Nice joke, MB builds the most reliable cars from Germany. They were poorly made in 1997-2005 because of the DaimlerChrysler-Fusion. The depreciation from an expensive car is higher than from a cheap car, everytime. You also can buy cheap 3 year old 5 series... anyway, that has nothing to do with quality, also Cadillac can build Good cars, still they have the highest depreciation of all time.
+notformebeaky The average BMW-driver is 53 years old in Germany. You can read that on statista.com, or on Auto Motor und Sport. Years in a row, the GLK, SLK and M-Class were/are the most reliable cars in their class if you can trust Dekra, ADAC or AMS.

No, the XF came out first for the 2009 model year in the US.. The 2009 XJ was the last year of the facelifted X350 body style, internally called the X358. There was no 2010 XJ offered in the states because the new 2011 X351 XJ came out as an early release in 2010.
Ok so the funny part is the rear was one of the reasons I bought it (second hand mint condition) It looks like the F Type and it looks way better than the XJ IMO. Maybe my taste was bad if so many people complain about it.
Rear space rear styling refinement and build quality are all absolutely appaling. I had one for two years. Totally unnaceptable. Even the loaded portfolio with a nice meridian, heated wheel, quickclear screen, reverse cam and nicer seats didnt detract from the shoddyness of the build, tinny like a 90s car in many places. The Ingenium diesel engine is shockingly sluggish on take off and stupidly loud ran it on v power and serviced on time. Handles like a dream but too compromised elsewhere. Shame as it has more character than the b9 A4 I traded up to. Even on 19s its almost silent and rock solid inside just sterile to drive and look at.
@@bensmithkent22 jaguar Land rovers build quality has been bad for some decades now. Best to stay away to be honest, unless you can afford to give away your hard earned cash to the mechanics.
Jaguar did a brilliant job in design by using f type eyes in e pace, making the crossover much more Jaguar, unique. i love XE but as other guys here mentioned, should brake that wall of being mainstream looking.
Matt...aluminium body, is old news, Audi A8 in 1995 had it. Airbag in the bonnet, Volvo had it in V40 in 2012. Not much of a family car. Oo yes, the iDrive from BMW, your dream system...

Hi Matt, I love the practicality of all your videos, but I'm wondering whether there isn't a way for you to do better side-by-side comparisons with direct competitors from a more scientific perspective ... ambient noise levels in cabin, real-world acceleration, real-world fuel consumption (not just 'I've been getting this...' but rather 'this compares to x in car Y over the same route'), etc? It's like your 'Big Bottle Test', but for the whole car.
+carwow Thanks, just checked it out! That was much better, but I'd appreciate if you could consider adding an on-screen scorecard, because it was hard to keep track of which car was the best for which thing, just because the list was so long. Other than that, great stuff :)

JungleListSoldier Well, you edited your comment from "2011" so of course my comment now makes no sense. Plus, release cycles are different in the UK.
How is it a 2018 jaguar xe review when it's a 2015 reg 🤔
The rear lets this car down in my opinion...
abinlukasabraham yes ..it looks like a ford mondeo...
@Nk More like an Audi (the older A5, to be exact). Oh wait, a majority of European and South Korean sedans look like Audis today.
Ok so the funny part is the rear was one of the reasons I bought it (second hand mint condition)
It looks like the F Type and it looks way better than the XJ IMO.
How does it compare to the Giulia?
I hope mat that you would make video of the new Jaguar xe SOON . Anxiously waiting carwow subscriber
I'm curious about the new Alfa Romeo Giulia, are you going to review it?
Mat, is this your channel?
Why don't you review the facelift version? We all want to see it Matt!
The best looking saloon on the road especially the sport models with the right wheels, if you have not driven one, do it.
5:05 67MPG? Impossible! So a full tank at 16 gallons can take you 1072 miles? How slow do you really have to be traveling, 35mph?
A. User I have the r sport 18mths old, on the motorway using cruise control I regularly get 65mph.
I had a r sport black edition sport brake "estate" and I wish I never got rid if it it was quite the perfect all car !!
Jaguar don't make a sport brake version of the XE. They do for the XF.
What about reliability any good Jaguar???
why dont you guys review much abt lexus
Can you do a review of the Jaguar XJ?
How much is a gallon, 3,6 Liter?
Can you do range rover velar vs bmw x5 vs jaguar f pace speed test please
Jaguar did a brilliant job in design by using f type eyes in e pace, making the crossover much more Jaguar, unique. i love XE but as other guys here mentioned, should brake that wall of being mainstream looking.
Why are you advocating this to be the new 2018 model, when this review was uploaded 2 years ago?...
The position of those AC vents in the passenger seat row had me laughing.
why did mat left carbuyer? feeling sad
What is that thing on the left side of the boot? Looks like the fuel cap!?!?!
+gde1989 add blue
Matt...aluminium body, is old news, Audi A8 in 1995 had it. Airbag in the bonnet, Volvo had it in V40 in 2012. Not much of a family car. Oo yes, the iDrive from BMW, your dream system...
But the question is, is it an all rounder and reliable ?
Can you please review jaguar XJ
What is that thing in the boot at 01:15 left side near the boot hinge?
+MS Filler cap for the AdBlue tank.
How much is the insurance for this car I’m think of getting this for my first car
Why do car reviewers in the UK never tell the price ranges of cars they review ?
great review as always :) looks pretty good but the backside isn't that appealing .. anyway will there be a review of the new Renault Megane? wanna see if it's any good in your opinion.. sorry if it's an out of context question :x
Jaguar XE Saloon 2017 or Jaguar XF Saloon 2017?
We also just reviewed the Jaguar XE R dynamic With 250HP what a fun car to drive! while also being comfortable
I found the litter box in the boot quite clever haha
Hi Matt, I love the practicality of all your videos, but I'm wondering whether there isn't a way for you to do better side-by-side comparisons with direct competitors from a more scientific perspective ... ambient noise levels in cabin, real-world acceleration, real-world fuel consumption (not just 'I've been getting this...' but rather 'this compares to x in car Y over the same route'), etc? It's like your 'Big Bottle Test', but for the whole car.
+Leon Schnell see the group test video for this car. The link is in the description and the click through is at the end. It's side by side with rivals
+carwow Thanks, just checked it out! That was much better, but I'd appreciate if you could consider adding an on-screen scorecard, because it was hard to keep track of which car was the best for which thing, just because the list was so long. Other than that, great stuff :)
+Leon Schnell bloody hell. Anything else? Shall I pop round your house and do the vacuuming for you too? :P
+carwow Well yes, now that you're mentioning it, it'd be nice if all your links to other videos didn't go to your website ;) I'm not a fan of enjoying my UA-camz, then getting directed to a website and trying to find my way back to UA-cam to watch the video on that page. Disrupting my car enjoymentz!
+Leon Schnell just ignore the links if you don't want the extra info. The main video has all you really need if you are just watching for fun rather than thinking about buying the car. It's not meant as click bait. If it was the video would be called 'hot girl bikini fail compilation' or 'top ten cutest kittens'.
1:20 what is matt wearing?
Matt please review the 2016 3 series
perfect review. can't wait for golf variant review and new Tiguan.
Like your presentations. I wondered where you went.
waiting for the XJR LWB jaguar 2017
great review! keep em coming!
Great review! Ive been driving the same spec xe for 6 months and agree with all the points u made. Spot on! This increases my confidence in your other reviews 😁 i personally love my xe, so far reliable just wish it had a petrol engine...
Hi. Just watching this review as I am close to buying xe r.. And seen your comment, which would you recommend petrol or diesel. I don't do many mway miles, also have can for work so jag just for wknds really
WAY more beautiful than any boring A4, merc or bm
I have test driven the XE against the rivals there are only 3 cars in this class, the Jag, the Merc and the Beemer. Other good cars out there but these 3 are just in a class of their own.
What about Audi A4, i think is the best of all 4..
This or the base Giulia ?
Someone help me !!
Alfa
I'd get one if I was in the market for a sports sedan
