1: have a good first touch
2: build up speed once you’ve taken a good first touch
    3: do not hesitate
4: feint before it’s too late
5: if you’ve failed, don’t give up and adapt

Hesitation is not good, however it works because you bait the defender in unintentionally because you stop going at him if you go at him it won’t work

As a defender I hesitate or more so “feint” to create space and to got a response from the defender which is different from “hesitating” which is not on purpose

Hesitation i use, is called (go stop go) if dribbling on the side u build speed then stop then go, works 100% if practice and use many different techniques

A tip that helps for me is if I am going to do the 1v1, I say to myself I am going to get around this player. This builds up your confidence which helps you have an attacking first touch, building speed because you will not back down, you will get around them. And once you decide your going to get around them you don’t hesitate and rethink your decision. Even if they stop you it’s way better than hesitating and getting tackled and falling on your face.

The golden rule of golden rules must be the mindset of "playing" the centre of gravity. Both yours and the defenders'.
It is also a good strategy to draw in defenders, having the hesitated moment to wait for the tackle, then you immediately flee away to get rid of them.
I appreciate the presenter here in the video is a left-footer! Elegant.

it's also helpful to change your direction as soon as the defender gets ready to make him think you won't dribble at him.
Yes this means you aren't going directly to the goal. But the defender often will retreat because it looks like you aren't trying to dribble him but another defender.
As soon as the defender makes the retreat you change direction and pace and he's unprepared and of position. Messi did this a lot.

the most common issue I see with players 1v1 is that they ALWAYS hold the ball up. You can slow down play if you're waiting for supporting attackers or if you're in a tiny space and need to bait the defender in. But if you're on a break and then you slow the ball down to do some silly step over combination, STOP. Either use a change of pace or quick change of direction and keep moving at speed. When you slow the ball down, you not only make it easier for the defender marking you, but you ALSO let all the opposing defense get back into position. Stop doing this

    some important things;
    Know your limits.
    Read/know yor opponents level...
    Agility is key in 1v1.
You should always be confident and know where you want to go... as you are in the driving seat. Defender will always have to react to you.

Disagree with pretty much every one of these (except #5). These are old school winger tips. But if you are a close-control through-the-middle player, it's about close control, being able to change direction when you see a defender commit, acceleration (not pace). Messi's 1v1 skill wasn't primarily his pace but his balance, close control, and being able to change direction on a dime and move away from where the defender was going.

      2. build up speed. use all the momentum and speed against a defender. this is hard for them to read you. dribble towards them them with speed.
      3. do not hesitate. always know what you wanna do before u get the ball. be bold.
      4. dont do the faint too late or too early.
      5. adapt. if you mess up, you get back up and go again. try different techquines and throw it at the defender to make you unpredictable.

If you train barefoot then with the cleats then that might be the problem. So its better to strengthen your feet with barefoot training and also training with the cleats to get used to them. You can just start with getting comfortable with lace touches, then do them while walking then running.

@@sasha1581 Thanks for the advise. But bro to be honest, next week is my last tournament and after that I am going to throw all the stuff away because it hurts me bro, it really hurts, and "Once you see the top, you can't afford to be at the bottom again".
I think it's time to make changes, I ain't going to be the star anyways, so Best Of Luck to you and guys who have future in the football. Coz I'm from a third world country, there's no point in wasting my energy and efforts.😔

@@digitalstoic1 man i promise you still got this. Honestly i dont think you should throw all that work away and even if you dont make at least youre doing it for the game and ur love for it. Either way, i hope you never let being from a third world country ever stop you, theyre usually the best bcz they train barefoot, theyre always in the sun, eating organic food etc they have all the real priviledge. I hope you give more thought bcz in the end it also benefits your body. All the best man 💪

What to do when the defender wait for me to do the move and when I knock the ball pass him he just use his body and he come between me and the ball he is not as fast as me he only use the body what can I do

Even if hes not as fast but he an advantage of literally being one step ahead. But generally, you need to keep the ball close to you. You try making a feint and passing him, or passing to a teammate then stepping behind him. As for your move, it cant be done right in certain conditions so i suggest you practice it with someone first to test out the possibilities.

If you're not able to put the ball where you can beat him then first practice shielding him, always keep yourself between him and the ball when he's at a distance to attack. After you finish a move if they are still with you, they will likely be engaged with you but if he can't get through you, you've beat him. Cutting in front after if you can helps a ton too because you can put the ball ahead of you, shield him, and he has to slow down.
