going to disagree with you not everyone wants a mouse with built in battery that is design to have its health heavily effected within 2 years to force an upgrade on you. this removes any and all issue reality to battery health. no longer need to replace a perfectly good mouse due to battery health. weight hype that everything needs to be blow 60g is something really over blown by now. literally dont know how many time we will see pro with heavier mouse outperform others. slap a AAA in there and its under 80g or use the power mat and its under 70g. after someone that had to skip the G pro 2/viper 3 due to them removing all the extra buttons. finally, Logitech creates a mouse that is an upgrade over the g305 in terms of features. optical switches, BT function (which was something people did ask and people did switch to OV2 due), better scroll wheel, and the possibility of never wasting batteries again? dont get me started that this mouse has the "Dpi" button that i use as my mic on/off. you know the button that everyone complains that they somehow magically hit?
now granted its 80$ but we must keep in mind that OV2 was 70$ at release. this mouse over time will fall down in price like the OV2/305.

the mouse is 86 grams for those that dont have the powerplay mat. The mouse has all the functions that everything else has atm. weight balance is terrible. And I barely see any pro player using something at that weight. Nice a AA battery........ youll have to buy them like you do with your controllers. Recharging a wireless mouse these days takes 0 effort to do and I have yet to hear someone complain that they feel like their battery is preforming sub par compared to last month. Logitech having the most revenue compared to its peers is falling behind tech wise and it is easy to see with this release that they do not care.

@@RyseShineReviews every battery mouse would be around that until you use AAA. Also that is false that every mouse has these features. g pro doesn’t have optical switches nor does the super light. The G pro 2 and the viper 3 pro has optical but only has the 2 sides buttons. Also built in batteries to make sure you going to need a replacement within 2-3 years
It seems you have a misunderstanding of battery health or the idea of buying batteries. So 1. You can buy rechargeable batteries. So you don’t have to buying wasteful batteries which harms the environment. 2. Batteries health degrades every time you charge any device. Every time you charge your battery it slowly loses capacity which causes you to charge it sooner than last time. Which of course you can see the cycle of death. Battery health last about 2 years on avg before thhe battery starts to loose large % of its capacity .
Built in Batteries is a system for plan obsolescence in the commercial space. They simply convince the customers that it’s a premium feature. Notice the majority of Professionals equipment have replaceable batteries regarding our tools, PC, systems, and so on.
Your whole complaint when we boil it down is that it’s not another G pro 2 wireless. The reason Logitech does not need to do that is because you already have said mouse.
We dont need another strip down mouse that cost less to produce but than charges us more for. What they needed was to revamp the g305 because it was obsolete vs the OV2. OV2 having BT, better switches, better build, and feature set. This mouse does just that. You can’t just make every single mouse for one group of buyers that think every Gram is the reason they lost. Also I am going to give you one bit of information. Logitech G pro is not their number 1 most sold mouse. Not all time, yearly, monthly, or even weekly. That goes to the very old G502. The super heavyweight. Next would be 305/wireless 502 old version. Super light coming after that. Now with that information dont you think it would be stupid not to have another mouse that fits in with the 305/OV2 segment? Or why they revamp the 502?

I fully agree with @BrotherO4. I have actually been searching for a wireless gaming mouse exactly like the new G309, because I worry a lot about electronic waste. A lot of people have to buy a new mouse because the battery life becomes too short after a couple of years or the primary mouse buttons develop double click issue. G309 solves these issues with replaceable battery and optical switches.
Having both Bluetooth and Lightspeed is also important to me, because I want a single mouse that I can use with both my gaming PC and my Macbook which I use for work, and easily switch between them with a button on the mouse. I had considered the G305 but it's a bit too small for me and it's missing Bluetooth.
I actually love the fact that it can use AA battery since I have multiple rechargeable batteries in circulation and ready to swap. I use rechargeable AA batteries in my Xbox controllers, Meta Quest 2 controllers, TV remote and electric toothbrush.
I bought the AA battery electric toothbrush last year because my previous toothbrush with non-removeable battery could only be used for 10 sec. on a full charge in the end. It pained me to throw it out because it was still working perfectly fine besides the battery. I hate planned obsolescence...

This review is wild. Optical switches didn't even come out til what 2019 or so? Exact same switches as the GPX 2 at nearly half the price. Not to mention the sensor vastly superior then in 2019. To jump on the logitech bad train for views and make a terrible review is definitely something else. I've had a powerplay now for about 5 or 6 years. Still working great. Its EXTREMELY nice to never even have the thought of battery life. I wish more companies made charging mouse pads. I just slide it under a much larger mouse pad and it works great.

The buttons are better than any other mouse that Logitech has to offer. So I would say 100% go buy it with powerplay, its worth it, if you dont need a feather for a mouse.

You should Definitely talk to a doctor about weakness problems because a mouse this light can't possibly be giving you issues.
My old Razer Atheris is the weight of 2 double A batteries, you know how heavy that is? And it wasn't this current tech where I could pop in this nifty coin and play on a mat charger. I've played THOUSANDS of hours of games on the Atheris and now that It's Finally (after about 6 years mind you) trying to kick the bucket, I decided to get a mouse to go with my G613 Keyboard (about the same age as my mouse so it's winning the age factor).
Here's the cons to the G309 that you should ACTUALLY be talking about.
The Coin in it isn't universal, so you can't buy a charger dock of any random kind to use, you must use the powerplay mat. Can you buy Chinese knock off Qi coins to do that, Totally but you'll never see a 100% charge. Other companies smartly uses a Qi Coin which means you could literally by those Wireless qi phone circles with the light up magic circle to bedazzle your desk with and have a purpose for it that isn't your phone.... unlike the G coin.
The other Con to this system is if you buy into the Powerplay the Mat needs to be on for the mouse to charge which means either you don't care about the Mat constantly blinking blue at you but in a usb port that will never turn off, or you never turn off your computer. "But you play AND charge at the same time! So it doesn't matter!" Right, cool, but some of us don't have the foresight that when they travel they REALLY should bring that Double A.
Potentially a Con depending on preference.
To me this is a pro. The mouse left and right buttons are sensitive and can be clicked anywhere on that surface allowing for ANY hand preferred position. Fingers flat, the Claw- you name it you can do it.
The actual Pros? You can put in a double A battery and override the coin system. Yeah it sucks if you didn't bring the double A battery, but it's nice to have the ability to. Or for whatever reason you accidentally played OFF your play mat and now your mouse is out of juice but you're in the middle of Raid and a dead mouse is NOT acceptable- then having the battery feature becomes a perk to remaining wireless. Remember, I was on the Razer Atheris for a long ass time without a cord to plug into to charge. That concept? foreign to me. I was batteries or bust, no coin no nada. So the other Pro? Yeah it sucks that it isn't a Qi Coin but it ain't a broke idea, that's for sure. It'd be smart of Logitech to sell Qi coins separately that work with their mouse voltage but that'd be genuinely wishful thinking from a company who can't ship stock from their own website in a timely manner, much less not have you run in circles with customer support trying to figure out why they can't honor their own 2-3 day express shipping; and is the same company that recently fucked up how G hub functions making many members cry for a roll back to a more stable version but Let's not get too far ahead as those things don't have TOO too much weight in anything.
Another Pro? Omg, NO RUBBER and the anti slip stickers are OPTIONAL. First thing to get disgusting and is a bitch to clean is ALWAYS the rubber and either your cleaning supply will make it sticky forever or your cleaning supply ATE the rubber- no in-between, leaving the mouse an unsanitary skin collecting biohazard, where an all plastic shell?? Man a dream come true. I look forward to cleaning this mouse which is a WEIRD thing to look forward to.
How about this Pro, This mouse has THREE ways it can connect. Wireless, Dongle, Or PowerPlay mat- Yes the Powerplay mat has the ability to pair to the mouse and frees up a usb slot FOR the mat itself. Someone was using their head when it came to USB management.
And as standard to all Wireless mouse regardless of company, yes the dongle can be stored in the mouse. So while you're smacking your forehead for now needing to run to the CVS for a pack of Double As, at least you're not completely up shits creek and forced to rely on bluetooth for your mouse if you REALLY don't want to.
But no seriously, go get a doctor to look at arm weakness. It's not normal to fatigue after that much time with a SUPER light mouse.
