Hi Alex. I've been playing for about 3 years and am ready to upgrade, so I have been binge watching your reviews for a few weeks now. They have been so helpful! Thanks. One thing I am wondering about in general is why a uke from a top manufacturer would need a "setup." I would have thought any of their ukes would have been built with such love and care that they would be perfectly ready to play "out of the box." Idea for a future video: take us through the setup process. Thanks again for your reviews!
Set up is subjective. Some things are fine out of the box if you want a 3mm action. Sometimes things just need a tweak. I guess it's a bit like buying a new car and expecting the manufacturer to know what you like your seat position to be. 🙂
So in love with all the Kanile’a tenors I’ve seen you show and play… I know where I’m heading now… thank you Alex!
Thanks Alex, doesn’t look anything selectabout that one. It looks lovely and figured. Have a great week.
The stripey pattern makes it unique, pretty 😊

Very helpful analogy. So most setups are guided by the wants and needs of a particular buyer/player?
Certainly at our shop they are.
Are all Kanile'a made of solid koa?
All production models pre-2024.
@@SouthernUkuleleStore thanks!
