Prior to co-founding Crusoe, Cully served in leadership and management positions in the upstream oil & gas industry and geothermal energy industry as well as in energy investment banking. Cully holds an undergraduate degree in geology from Middlebury College, an MBA from the University of Oxford and is a Thomas J. Watson Fellow in the subject of energy economics. Cully was named as a 2021 Entrepreneur of the Year by EY, and has won numerous awards for leadership as well as environmental and technology innovation.
