I'm much more creative and in control at the same time. 4 years after date but... this is (still) very special hardware. IMO the best you can get for Live usage.
Is this push 2 worth buying if your new to albelton production? And is it good for production as well, or just good for live use. I've been considering the machine mk3, but I'm not totally sold by native instruments software. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks .
+cbf.lach buy a Synthesizer or something like that and make ur own stuff. If i see this Sample technique i must lol...is that the new way to make "Music" with Samples from a vinyl?! It's not ur own stuff then...Ableton is a very good DAW but u dont need this controller...
Duly noted, but I'm just pointing out that if you want an easy out-of-the box experience and no workarounds Alberton really does have the market by a stronghold.
this controller is awesome, and the new simpler features are amazing. i think you guys could team up with places like ircam, steim and zkm and provide for an instance a free live pack on how to reverse engineer the logics of the controller, and simpler, and make for an instance a small setup inspired on alvin curran's pieces for solo sampler keyboard, applying referentation of the counterpoint and orchestration approaches of people like wolfgang mitterer, for an instance, and bring up a crazy system for mashing up recordings in far unconventional ways bringing all sorts of sampling sources, that it could be really amazing. and not only do that with push, within the mappings, but do doing that, with live sources, like mics, wiimotes, Joysticks, kinects, etc. i mean, a universal intelligent mapping system would be eventually the ideal
A really nice controller however I'm still learning and getting to grips with the original Push. Seriously, all those worrying about recent purchases of Push 1 shouldn't, Ableton has (and always will have) good customer and product support. We Push 1 users will be looked after well. Back to the Push 2, it's wonderful. It's going to bring a lot of joy to a lot of people.
+TheMajorScale bro. Good point there. I must add there are new features for Push 1 on the 9.5 update and the Ableton team promise on their website to keep adding fresh content and updates for it.
this thing is so expensive, but obviously valuable. it would be cool if they could make the hardware standalone, and if it could possibly be used as an RSS reader
Super valuable. Personally I think standalone digital gear is usually massively overrated just as a general concept. To me, I don't care if I need to plug in a laptop or what.
I don't understand why everyone is saying this makes their push controller obsolete, I use mine all the time, it's rad. Granted the new one looks mighty fancy with some other bells and whistles, but that in no way changes your existing push.. if any of the these folks have some very out of date roland drum machines or moog synths I'd be happy take that out dated obsolete hardware off your hands "I ain't what you got it's what you do with what you got that makes it funky" -some person
+Ableton I purchased the Push 1 from your website about 3-4 months ago. 30% off still sucks considering it cost me $600 and being in Canada it'll cost me $1000 ($800 US) for Push 2. $300 off still leaves me at $700. That would mean I've spent $1300 on Push devices within a 4-month span. For that, I could get a nice controller, mixer and a LaunchPad Pro. Probably with some cash still left for additional software/plug-ins
Honestly $800 is a hefty price to pay... the only key features I see IMHO is the WAV slicer, colors, and 64 pad drums... would love to demo it, but from the looks my $350 Push 1 is still a work horse along side my maschine
+Eddy Tang we put Push 1 out of stock precisely to avoid this kind of situation. If you purchased your unit from a retailer, please get in touch with them and see if you can return or exchange it.
+Ableton Sure, but most can't return after about a month, when the Push was still selling for about ~$450 new. This trade-in plan now devalues our barely-used Push's by almost half ($240, 30% of $800). Nice to help kids, but an advance announcement or even a 40% discount plan wouldn't have left such a sour taste in my (and all these commenters') mouths.
I think something that concerns me and about everyone else with the original Push: how will you guys continue to support it? I'd hate to think that we won't get certain features that seem to happen for the Push 2 (like different color schemes for the step sequencer in the video?)
That looks amazing!! I've been using the original Push for a few years now and am leaking my goo at how beautiful this hardware is!! It makes me ask though... Ableton Live 10 soon ?

So it is used ca. 40 mins in total trying to get started a total rookie, it is like brand new out of box + cool Ableton Bag. AN this noew one seems a totally upgraded model; so I hope we can arrange sth to skip to Push 2 and start buying payed packages, or to stay at Push 1 and to do almost nothing as it seems outdated a bit. Cheers! Darko Kolega
I was a little disappointed with the first Push when I got it. The workflow was just not good enough to make me put the mouse down. This Push 2... it's incredible. It looks so intuitive and to be able to view and manipulate waveforms without taking your eyes off the instrument itself. Okay... take my money... again... If you created a "Pull" with faders, multiple knobs (like 24) and a huge display screen to sit next to the Push... you might get some more money.

I still remember the APC40 demo with Dennis DeSantis: that persuaded me to purchase. This? Not so much.. See: making things look easy doesn't imply that it will also BE easy for us.
Frustrated that there was no advertisement of the release of Push 2 on the Ableton website...just bought the first Push four weeks ago via their website (live in Australia so no retailer to refund back to). Surely, given this short window of time, I can trade in (plus the difference in cost). Please let me know +Ableton.

Hi there, if you already own a license of Live you can buy Push without a license, simply by login into your Ableton.com user-account with your registered email address and visiting our webshop here: www.ableton.com/en/shop/ Hope it helps, Thanks!
I really think they made a Maschine studio with 64 pads. you already have all of this if you use Maschine 2 as a plugin... But this baby is still a dream!

6 years but Push 2 still doesn't feel outdated
Exactly, because they add new features to the Push when they update Ableton. I bought mine 2 years ago and it doesn't feel outdated at all.
Timelessness design to be honest. Akai did good job.
@@MS7.7 Akai didn't have any part of the design of the Push 2, it's all Ableton.
