I've been using Push 2 for about a year and still learning how to use it. Never thought I'd learn so much just from watching you jam for 24mins. Please do more Push 2 content!
Huge fan of you trying gear you're not 100% with, watching someone try to climb the learning curve is interesting - sometimes more interesting than watching someone who has already mastered the tech.
As someone who has just bought Push 2 i just can't fully describe how grateful i am. Tutorials about "this button does that" don't give you complete understanding of the workflow, so videos like this one are pure gold for a novice like me. Thank you! And the track is dope though
try press record and new at the same time after you played something without recording. It boosts your workflow so much, because "Ableton is listening" the whole time (scary voice) and puts it in a clip or adds length. after this you just need to crop the clip eventually. have a great day!
Unfortunate that you didnt feel comfortable with it because personally i think that's one of my favorite sonic results from these "from scratchs". Which is a format that i love, even more when it includes the "this draft idea didnt work out" parts of producing that are very real to anyone whos tried anything creative themselves. So i'd love to see more!
This was awesome. I'd love to see more Push 2 content! Push/Ableton is so big that it can be easy to fall into repetitive workflows. Seeing your take on things was refreshing and inspiring.
I hope you make more of these. My Push has been collecting dust and this has really inspired me to bust it out and go screenless! Don’t be frustrated my friend, it’s all part of the creative process.
Haven't finished watching yet, but I just wanted to let you know about changing the probability for all notes - if you hold Select and and then choose a pad in the drum rack, it lets you select the probability for all notes for that pad. It's pretty smart about it too. E.g. if you have a a bunch of different probabilities set, it'll tell you the range on screen (e.g. 35-59%) and you can then up or lower that range across the board with one knob twist. I just discovered this myself. The Shift and Select buttons offer a whole hidden world of functionality in Push.
I really enjoyed this. It's so cool watching someone who knows Ableton like the back of their hand dial in the goods. As for the value/utility of Push, I think trying to do everything with it is really not what it's designed for. Browsing for things, hooking parameters up between devices, etc is best done with a mouse and screen IMO. But once you have everything in that you want, you can then dive into Push and get hands-on access to everything in a way that's so much more immediate and visceral than with a mouse. It especially shines in newer devices like Wavetable that were obviously designed with Push in mind and it's just a joy to use. As for future videos, how about a hybrid approach where you do things on screen where it makes sense and things on Push where that's more fun? Might ease the frustration factor a bit, dunno. Love your work as always, Jeremy - thanks so much for sharing! Edit: PS: I really enjoyed this course by DJ Step1 sequence-one.teachable.com/p/ableton-push-2 she's a wizard on Push and made it really accessible to me. Highly recommended. Also Andri Soren's course on WRKSHP
just got a push2 (Ableton live suite 11 included, that was what I really needed) and first thing after purchase I just checked if Jeremy has one and had made some videos. Not disappointed. Thanks.
dude. i need part two or three. i'm a hardcore abletoner, and still can't look away from the computer screen whenever i jam with push 2. the urge to reach the mouse and keyboard is too strong. this jam is really inspiring
Jeremy, this was really sick. Please do more videos like this! Really enjoyed seeing you use the Push 2. Especially trying to figure it out throughout the track. Great stuff!
the best Push video i've seen. not a soulless """impressive""" marketing reel made to sell the gear, just a raw view of a real human experience with the tool. excellent. your channel never disappoints, Jeremy!
Push isn’t a jam box and this is out of my comfort zone.........proceeds to pull an awesome tune out of what initially appears to be blind flailing. Great work as ever, Jeremy.
More Push 2 content!!! Not sure which I like watching more....you suffering with Push 2, or someone creating cool music with the Push 2. Whatever you do, its inspirational and never stop.
This was great! As someone who started using Ableton when they offered free suite access for 3 months (and then another 3 months. Good move, Ableton, it made me buy the Suite) at the start of quarantine, I found adding Push2 gave me the tactile aspect that really helped me dive in a little further. I'd love to see more videos of you and Push if you're up for it
I've dreamed of a video like this! Just lovely. I love my push 2 and Ableton, super important for my workflow. Please do more videos in this series! ❤️❤️❤️
YES! Please make more! Loved the imperfection of the video, not in terms of video production or words but in terms of not being 100% confident with it. I think most of us feel the same with Push 2!
Please sir, more. Based off this one video, I subscribed. Ran into the same issues with you with having a push 2 and Ableton (never use the darn thing). But honestly this inspires me to pick it back up. Let's become experts together!
I simply can't make music at my computer any more after working 10 hours at a computer all day, so I've slowly moved away exclusively into hardware land. I had no idea how much I needed this. Grooveboxish feel with Ableton power and freedom.
Just what I needed. Thanks for the inspiration. I’m coming in late to the game, so I really hope you’ve made some more of these for me to dive into. I’d also love to see how you’d take a mix like this and set it up for a performance, or pull it into a full track.
I have a Push 2 and I found the best set up is to jump back and forth between the Push 2 display and your PC/Mac display. I wish they would add the ability to map macros and LFOs from the Push. Also trying to switch out an instrument, I have to use the hot swap feature in Ableton otherwise Push 2 will overwrite the whole chain (I group my instrument chain in order to quickly hide/show/and copy.) The best features are easily the macros mapping automatically to the knobs, the built in sequence, and the ability to see a visualizer for stock Ableton plug ins. I've used the Novation Circuit as a controller but the latency and mapping were a pain in the ass when moving to a new project even with templates.
I totally get what youre saying about Push2. I have had to force myself to try and like the workflow. I used mine maybe twice last year. I dont think i will ever get rid of it, however using it might be over. I only hope what they come up with next will be different! Thanks for the video!
my eyes almost popped out when i saw you're doing something on the push 2...... keep it coming :) ......... love the other stuff, but I have a push 2 so this is special :)
I appreciated you taking the time to ... push ... yourself and struggle through the process, I'm trying to decide if Push 2 is right for me as I'm just getting into Ableton.
I love my push 2 and I'm so stoked to see you release a Push 2 video. Midi capture helps speed things up a lot for me. Idk If I saw you use it or not. Record + Note = MIDI Capture
Well considering you were 'not used' to using push2 you did an excellent job! Was definitely an insightful video for some good takeaways! I am hoping to eventually see more videos from you on Push2 in the future.
A tip for the kick that’s too boomy to side chain with - eq the side chain so that it’s just the top click, which is almost always a short transient and gives you tons of control
Solid as always Jeremy, teenage engineering content aside you tend to have a similar taste to me in terms of using modular and traditional, hardware and software etc. Either way I’ve enjoyed your content a great deal .😊 I have mk 1 push and similarly have struggled. I think like any tool it’s about how much you are willing to invest in it in terms of how it meets your needs. Im still on ableton 10 and push 1 and will probably keep it that way and rely on my hardware to make the meat of what I do. I like ableton but have always used it in a more counter intuitive way and mainly used it for mixing outside gear and occasionally midi sequencing external stuff too as opposed to using it in session view with multiple clips and layers etc. I feel like I like ableton despite ignoring what it’s good at which is why I think I probs ly ned to learn push and get better at quick recording clips etc. Agree re wavetable, fkin great.
12:00 pretty good. push is not for everything but it definitely helps the creative process, to quickly tap into ideas a mouse + keyboard just won’t do easily. the end result is pretty awesome!
I've never really liked the idea of getting into Push (I currently use the older APC40mkII as my Ableton controller) but seeing you struggle with it, and win... now I think i may have to get myself one for Christmas this year. More of these would be great.
I hear what you're saying about working with the Push, but I dunno man. I feel like working with the stock devices, having the buttons and knobs makes it something I can wrap my brain around more than looking at the same controls on the screen.
As requested: This is something that I like. Do more of them.
I've been using Push 2 for about a year and still learning how to use it. Never thought I'd learn so much just from watching you jam for 24mins. Please do more Push 2 content!

Man, this is so true. I think that's a great idea for future videos.
@@Steve81M I agree. I’m super glad Jeremy listens to his fans.
I couldn’t agree more.
Jeremy+push 2=🔥 Please continue using the Push 2 and making great inspirational content with it like you did in this video.

woah what the fuuuu
Even if you said you don’t fully enjoy the workflow of the Push 2, you still made an awesome track!

but how to do the same when you are in slide sample mode, when you prescribed a rhythm with different pieces of sound and you want it all randomized?
just got a push2 (Ableton live suite 11 included, that was what I really needed) and first thing after purchase I just checked if Jeremy has one and had made some videos. Not disappointed. Thanks.
Yes please more of these! I’m super underutilizing the Push, helps so much to see different workflows for ideas.
dude. i need part two or three. i'm a hardcore abletoner, and still can't look away from the computer screen whenever i jam with push 2. the urge to reach the mouse and keyboard is too strong. this jam is really inspiring

This was incredibly informative, as someone with a Push. You showed a few features I wasn’t aware existed. Would love to see more.
3 years down the line and i can tell you sir - you did a great job there :) thank you!
Please sir, more. Based off this one video, I subscribed. Ran into the same issues with you with having a push 2 and Ableton (never use the darn thing). But honestly this inspires me to pick it back up. Let's become experts together!
Yes more of this, love the struggle
I simply can't make music at my computer any more after working 10 hours at a computer all day, so I've slowly moved away exclusively into hardware land. I had no idea how much I needed this. Grooveboxish feel with Ableton power and freedom.
Ya know what, watching you work on this thing makes the concepts of your sound design so easy to follow, much easier than watching a stream of the DAW
Yay more with push 2 please!
I just bought a 2nd hand push 2 to do exactly that and I would love more videos like this one. It's just perfect
Nice Video! It's good to see someone work through a device they don't fully know yet either, but can still teach you so much about it.
Just what I needed. Thanks for the inspiration. I’m coming in late to the game, so I really hope you’ve made some more of these for me to dive into.
I’d also love to see how you’d take a mix like this and set it up for a performance, or pull it into a full track.
That was amazing to follow! Just got my push 2 and I'm pretty happy to have found your video 🙏
I purchased Push 2 some days ago and I love it!!! And I'm a totally noob but still love it.
Fantastic Push 2 video! Looking forward to more soon. Thanks, RMS
I love the Push 2 and Ableton 11. Each to their own. Whatever works. Elektron Sequencer was the Struggle for me. Sold them.
This was awesome! I am trying to learn how to be more proficient with the Push and this was extremely helpful. Please keep them coming!
I love watching this. Seeing you working and learning to use this inspires me to keep getting better. I learned a lot here. Thanks!
Just subscribed. I hope I get to see more of this
amazing. more please!!
16:27 *sounds amazing* Jeremy: "It's not so good" aaah man....
it's great, very inspiring to learn how to use my Push2. Please make more push 2 videos !
No avoiding how great this resulting track sounds, and I'd certainly love to see more. But also, you gotta do you!
Glad im not the only one that have a Push2 with very different feeling knobs. Nice beat!
I think it’s because you use ‘macro 2’ for so much stuff, so that it wears out quicker than the others. I assume that’s the one you’re talking about
Hey Jeremy, amazing work- and yes please do more of this! Thanx.
I would love to see more Push 2 and Jeremy!
Great demo of built in availability

Keep them coming!! I’m trying to use my Push more and your videos are really motivating.
You are pure magic my friend!
I totally get what youre saying about Push2. I have had to force myself to try and like the workflow. I used mine maybe twice last year. I dont think i will ever get rid of it, however using it might be over. I only hope what they come up with next will be different! Thanks for the video!
Absolutely Outstanding!!!
This is a great video! You found it hard and it's that that makes it great. Thank you🙏🏿
Buying a Push 2 today. Came here to confirm my decision. Decision confirmed. Thanks Jezza!
Heard today that Behringer are releasing a clone of the Push.
The Bush 2 sounds fab
For Logic ✨😃☀️🎶
Yes, they‘re also released a rad new software called Babelton.
This is the video i need as i consider selling my Push 2!! Yes!!
loved this, and have been sitting on the fence with the Push 2, so many other instruments out there....
Something that I really like. Please, do more of them.
Great track, very tasteful and atmospheric!
my eyes almost popped out when i saw you're doing something on the push 2...... keep it coming :) ......... love the other stuff, but I have a push 2 so this is special :)
Talk shit about push while creating such an amazing sound :) Loved the vid.
Yass! More of this!
You make it look so easy!
This was so cool to watch!
I appreciated you taking the time to ... push ... yourself and struggle through the process, I'm trying to decide if Push 2 is right for me as I'm just getting into Ableton.
Inspiring beat & great explaining as you go, as always. Thanks
I thoroughly enjoyed this and would love to see more, but even some regular Ableton sessions would be cool to see on this channel more.
Great video, would love to see more!
You’re amazing ❤️
Please make more push 2 videos
Really enjoyed this one, thanks Jeremy
Wow, you are on a roll!
I love my push 2 and I'm so stoked to see you release a Push 2 video. Midi capture helps speed things up a lot for me. Idk If I saw you use it or not. Record + Note = MIDI Capture
Yes def more of them. I can totally respect "not for me" but IMHO most hands on DAW controller.
Well considering you were 'not used' to using push2 you did an excellent job! Was definitely an insightful video for some good takeaways! I am hoping to eventually see more videos from you on Push2 in the future.
I learn from you every day, music wise. Tnx
I love this and you'r very eloquent!
Pls more ableton (push) content
Great song! Please do more of these push2 vids
Jeremy you are awesome!
A tip for the kick that’s too boomy to side chain with - eq the side chain so that it’s just the top click, which is almost always a short transient and gives you tons of control
Yup, eq was on for a reason...:)
This looks and sounds really cool

Fantastic work! Hope you do more of these jams and keep them to a track someday. This one would make for amazing gaming or background music!
Please make more of these!
learning so much from this. ty
Love it. I'd be interested in Ableton 11 comping + eurorack. Composing with eurorack and comping up the best bits in Ableton.
12:00 pretty good. push is not for everything but it definitely helps the creative process, to quickly tap into ideas a mouse + keyboard just won’t do easily. the end result is pretty awesome!

this is giving me Thom Yorke .. i love it
The bass is sharp so makes any instrument you add on top sound flat. Great vid!
I hear what you're saying about working with the Push, but I dunno man. I feel like working with the stock devices, having the buttons and knobs makes it something I can wrap my brain around more than looking at the same controls on the screen.
Enjoyed it very much 👍 thanks!
I'd love to see more please!!!!
Fun to watch and sounds killer
Love the sounds. I think the value of the push 2 is to be found as you start using it as a performance controller
The challenge was to make music with it. I get it though
@@RedMeansRecording yeah sometimes I have to ‘push’ myself to use it too. Sorry not sorry. 🤣
this was awesome!
Minute 14 is the fantastik sound👍👌🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Damn this sounds fucking amazing. You are REALLY talented.
good one. very “finished like track… at least to my ears. love to see part II on this one(
wow...this is..wow..thx!
It is very cool !! Thanks bro
Loved it 🖤
