Bought the Kite Optics 12x42 a year ago and they are the best binoculars that I will ever buy. It’s the stabilisation that is so good - non stabilised binoculars are so 19th century that, like Windows 3, they should be binned. Water proof, replacement batteries and, IMO 98% stabilisation - what else do you want

Hello! Thanks for the question about comparing the two 42mm stabilizers. Mostly it's a matter of preference to the user and what they plan to use them for. Both binoculars perform extremely well and lend themselves to a variety of activities such as wildlife viewing, stargazing, boating, surveying and the list goes on. They both share many great characteristics such as being light weight (difference of only 15g between the two) and have very long battery life. But to highlight some of the more notable differences for you and reasons to choose a 16x42: High magnification power to see farther if distance is critical or preferred. Not the most expensive model, but great middle ground value. Reasons to choose a 12x42: higher magnification than non-stabilized bins and seem to have a slight increase in sharpness over the 16's. Good for mid range spotting in trees for birding, where 16's may be more difficult to locate a bird because of the high mag. The 12's will be most appropriate to those who must wear glasses while viewing, the eye relief is 17mm allowing the entire image to be seen. The 16's have an eye relief of 14mm and those who must wear eye glasses may not see the entire image at the edges. The 42mm APC's are now the middle tier models of the APC Stabilized family, offering the best features and value in the market at this price range. Kite have recently released new APC 14x50ED and 18x50ED binoculars as well, which are brighter and include incredible new optic technology providing the best viewing experience offered. Definitely worth checking them out as well at www.redravenphoto.com :)

How do you record the footage from what you're seeing through the binoculars? It's fantastic.
