- DIY How to make 3d illusion led lamp
To create this 3D illusion lamp you'll need the following materials.
- Wooden boards
- Several wood screws
- Wood stain & varnish or paint for wood
- LED stripe
- Mirror effect tape - metalic
- Piece of wire + plug (optional on-off switch)
- AC adapter
- Acrilic sheet ( plexiglass )
- Precel template :-) ( sheet of paper)
Tools:
- Saw
- Screwdriver
- Grinder
- Drill
- Nail Grinder or Dremel
- Soldering iron
- Scissors
- Tape

Smart Beast, I guess my question is really about how you work out how much wattage (if that’s the appropriate measure) of LED’s are required per square centimetre of Perspex/acrylic combined with the amount of lines in the drawing used. Hope that makes sense. Cheers, Gary

if you dont wanna see the edges , just heat the corners with a propane torch and they will become clear again just be careful not to melt the edges that way you just see the image not the edges

If you heat the edges of the acrylic with a torch carefully, it will melt and make the edges round and smooth.

what is the lengh and width for the wood
so the bit at the end where you traced the 3D image onto the perspex, was that etching or a glue trace....what?

I enjoyed this vid and I dont get the laser-printer/cnc comments. Its a DIY-video, not push-a-button-on-your-PC-video. Theres plenty of Autodesk, CAD, CAM etc vids, this is just not one of them.

Have you heard for Engraving laser machine?! You could save us about 5 minutes!!!
i guess not everyone can get the laser engravers, but it's easier and cheaper probably to get an engraver like his' :-)

Why would you spray paint the damn thing if you stain it . why not varnish and have a nice wood natural effect, than gold canned spray. GOLD!!? but it look good anyway. thumbs up.

Hi, Cnc is nice but.. No every one has cnc machine at home - this lamp can be done simplest method ( without cnc)
dude, just use a laser printer and you could make a dozen of those in under 2 hours

This made me nauseous
I have never wanted to break two fingers more in my entire life. Next time leave out the awful annoying music. You do not need any music in the background and your "grinder" is called a disc sander. I think painting the edges of the plexi so that just the image illuminates and not the border of the plexi would make it look nicer. Overall a very good job and of which I'll use as an instructional when I build some of my own. Thank you, ***/****
