HUGE Flaw in the Fishpond Summit 2.0 Sling Bag & How I Fixed It.

The Fishpond Summit 2.0 Sling Bag is one of the best bags out there, but there is a HUGE flaw, something I think Fishpond completely over looked (other UA-cam video reviews complain about this issue also). However, I liked the bag enough to come up with a solution to fix the flaw. This simple fixed made this one of my favorite fly fishing packs I've ever owned, and hopefully it's something Fishpond will fix in the future.

That net holder is for the bigger nets. There is a plastic loop at the top of the pack for hooking up smaller nets with the fishpond tether.

Fishpond make long handled nets snd the net holder is obviously intended for one of those, or a similar long-handled net. I've not seen any other reviews where the net falls out and some of the reviews show the pack being swung around.

The only design flaw is that Mad River Outfitters sells the same bag for $100 less.

I'm not a big fan of net holsters in general. I'd rather have it hanging where it's accessible. I have the same pack. I hang my net on the outside and it hangs out of way when I bring the pack to the front. Problem solved.

I feel the same way. I don’t have a lot of flexibility in my shoulder and wouldn’t enjoy grabbing it. I also don’t want my draining net draining onto me.

My God you went to way too much effort. A longer handle net. Attach a piece of paracord to the end of the handle. With a small carabiner at the tag end and attach it to the pack near the pocket. Then the handle and paracord slide down the net sleeve and vavoom. It works great for me.
