Loved your reaction 👏, great understanding of the song. Try “Crutch” one of Ren’s favourites, written when he was super low, struggling with his mental health. ❤
I have no idea where the story that How To Be Me was recorded on the bridge Joe Hughes jumped from comes from. Since his body was never found the presumption is that Joe jumped off the Menai Bridge in North Wales. It's a substantial, stone, Victorian-era structure in North Wales. I've been across the Menai bridge, This isn't it. I've never heard or read anyone with firsthand knowledge claim the video was shot on a bridge in the first place. It only takes a glance to see that on several occasions in the video a brick wall and glass doors can be seen. I don't want to sound overly harsh. It's only that I know we can make honest mistakes by repeating incorrect information when it lends tragedy to an already tragic story. Having said that, I loved your reaction. The song is achingly beautiful, and Ren and Chinchilla's performance is stunning!
This was not the bridge Joe used, that rumor has been passed around for a while now and it simply isn’t true. I honestly don’t think Ren would have ever done that.
Yeah I've heard from people who live in the area that the background doesn't match up with that of the bridge. However, I think It was still filmed at Anglesey, where the bridge is.
One of my top 5 Ren songs without a doubt. It's hauntingly beautiful and I feel captures the feeling of grief and loss almost perfectly! Your interpretation of the lyrics was fantastic. I would check out Chinchillas solo work as well, 'Fingers (Live)' is especially great!
I love this one he has a live one called "Ren - Freckled Angels - Live At The Regal Room" from like 11 years ago on his channel when his friends death was more recent that knots up my throats with feels makes it hard to breathe.

Amazing lyrics and so much emotion and heartache in the vocals, so powerful when these two collaborate.

A moving, empathetic response to a beautiful homage to a close friend

Singing at the spot it may of happened? I don't see any harm done in that.. If true, that's endearing.. if not.. no harm done really.

I think it's about the grief he is feeling for his loss
I have 2 recommendations- Diazepam by Ren - Fingers (live) by Chinchilla
That's just a rumour about where this was filmed apparently. It's not the place his best friend Joe died but it IS about him x

Two more performances of REN and Chinchilla live busking covering one dance/drunk in love and sexual healing 🔥
❤❤😢❤❤
I heard it's close to the place it happened but not the exact place but this was hearsay on a post, can't confirm.
