Fist let me say THANK YOU!!! A very nice, well put together instructional video. I watched other videos( and learned a few things), but yours was the one I found the most useful by far. All the information you provided was pure GOLD! I saw your video a 6 weeks ago and I just finishing mounting the new engine back on my 05 Frontier. I used ,like you recommended, Engines Direct Distributors and I have nothing but praise for them. Steve at sales was fenomenal. I had the new engine delivered 3 days after I called. The old one was picked up 10 days later. 7 days after that I received my core credit. Sir thank you so much. I am not even a shade tree mechanic, but your video gave me that kick to tackle something I’ve been wanting to do for a while. My 05 frontier had 316k miles. Hopefully next week I’ll be ready to crank her up. God bless sir🙏👏👏👏
Having done valve covers on the vq40de before, not sure I'd choose to do all that aggravating work to use some Chinesium parts that cost about the same as OEM. My stock covers still hadn't failed or leaked a drop down any of the tubes as of 190k mi when I pulled them to replace along with gaskets.
Thanks for the instructions on this engine swap. I would like to know how much time it took you to complete this job. I just got a similar rebuilt engine for my SUV. I wanted to know what to expect from start to finish on my part.
I took my time over about a month after work and on weekends. Some of that time was spent waiting on parts. Probably about 20hrs straight time give or take. There is a lot and it is packed in there :)
Im curious to know how these aluminum valve covers held up and if theyre worth the money i take it this video is old enough to warrant a new one by now let me know so i can start ordering gaskets lol
Not sure on delivery to Iraq, but the engine was about $4500 shipped I think. Ibought it from these guys. VQ40DE Rebuillt Crate Engine Steve Ricehouse Engines Direct Distributors LLC 1-800-998-2100 ext 102 (623) 581-6400 local (623) 581-9400 fax steve@enginesdirect.net
@@i2edeye as far as I can tell, the new Z is back to the 3.0L. Which I'd say is the perfect displacement V6. Except there's their truck motor! Maybe the 4.0 should go in a Foxbody drift missle

My stock covers were cracked, swollen and leaking. The plastic covers I was seeing were also from china unfortunately.
Great job, how are you liking those aluminium valve covers today?
So far so good. Got just over 10K on them.
@@i2edeye good to know, thanks!
@@_moes_garage_ no problem :)
So the stock oil fill cap doesn't fit? What if you find yourself needing a replacement?
I will take that valve cover and have the threads machine correctly.

So far so good. The only real issue was the cap threads and they are manageable.
@i2edeye so no leaks? Because from what I've read the plastic ones usually end up leaking
@@maurobeltran3072 No leaks, just about to hit 10,000 miles
I have a 2008 Nissan Xterra. Where can I get such an engine and how much does it cost? I live in Iraq

Put it in a Z. Please.
I don't have a Z, but I do have a 620 that will be getting something like this someday. Besides, Nissan put one in the new Z :)
