Hope you like the video guys! Just FYI, there isn't *official* support for a 360mm rad up front, but it might fit with a small one or some light modding. Official support is for up to a 280mm.
This is probably my favorite Fractal case. I love the psu shroud something they don't have on their other cases. I hope they make a ATX variant of it. Also hope they add tempered glass side panel options
its refreshing to see a high quality case in my favorite motherboard form factor, now if only we could get some motherboards of the same level of quality...
Would a water cooling loop be possible with this case? Admittedly new to even planning pc builds but I like this case and want something that would be able to have cool water cooling added later
i want to put a 360 rad in the front and i also want to keep the hard drive cage, if i slide the cage all the way over how much space do i have to work with?
Great video. I'm really interested in this case. Is it possible to add a 120mm fan in the lower front area of the case and push the hard drive cage closer to the PSU so you can get some air flowing on the HDDs? Thanks!
What program do you recommend getting for a blue-ray player on windows 10. I got one for my recent build (I know, I know "why did you get an optical drive, they aren't cool any more"...well I love the way they look and I think its cool so yeah.)
Hey Paul, question: how was Fractal able to cut costs on the Define C series? The Define R5 still costs more to purchase. Is there anything we might be missing in comparison to the Define R5? I'm trying to choose between these two cases...
How do you take the front panel off? Does it just pop off? Want to put another fan in the front but can't figure out how to take of the front cover for the life of me.
Very nicely done vid Paul. Great little case. Nice little refinements. Getting closer and closer to perfect. I too wish the LED was white. Blue is such an eye sore on my Define S. Blue seems very 2005 to me.
Sure looks like in your video that a 360 would work in the front, but Fractal's spec page only lists up to 280 or 240 for the front on the mini. The ATX version they do list 360 as supported. Any idea if they plan to do an R2 update for the original Mini? I built a home server type pc in the original Mini. I liked it a lot, but it kind of needs an update. I thought this might be the answer to that, but it's really not. It's much more in line with the Define S series, with the reduced number of HDD mounts, no 5.25 bays, more open, etc. The original Mini still had mounts for up 6 HDD's, making it work better for a server setup with lots of drives.
would it be possible to mount an MSI H97 GAMING 3, Socket-1150? It says it has support for atx. But when im looking at the dimensions it doesn't look like it.
what about removing the panel for the bigger rad and adding a third fan with the drive bays slid back? it will give your hard drives some cooling air flow. Didnt know if it was an option, but looks easily doable and gives you a 3 fan front for a positive air flow further reducing your dust
12:08 Thank you, Paul. I will recommend Fractal cases all day long but I'm passing on the Define S & Nano S because they're too "vanilla" for my taste. Would be great to see a new line that takes more chances. I'm not looking for loud, gaming styled cases but just something different. Phanteks, NZXT & Corsair have come up with cool stuff.
THE micro-ATX case I've been waiting for... Kudos to FD for all of the filters, the shroud looks great, the grommets w/tons of tie-down points and radiator options. Well thought out and about as small as I'd recommend yet, easy to work in and I don't think you'll have any GPU size restrictions. PS sliding HD cage is a plus. Only concern I have is the potential heat issue around any Hard Drives installed.
Hi Paul, I am make a desk setup. Ive designed it in sketchup and have a photo of it and would like to ask u how u like it and what u would change. Thanks!
I'm looking for a very portable case, but I don't want to buy a new video card (I have a fan GPU and I'm worried about temps) Would this or the nano s be a better option for me?
Is that space between the GPU and the PSU shroud enough for the fans to take air... I plan of putting rx 470 or 480 and I know that they are getting quite hot.. so my question is if these cards will proceed without problem. Love your channel tho
I bought this case and had a defective power button out of the box. A Newegg RMA later, and the new case worked fine. The wiring job was the issue on the power button.
I have a dumb question. If you take apart your current PC to transfer all current components to a new Case, do you have to reinstall all programs like windows or stuff like that?
Can you change the Power/HDD Led color on this one? This is one of my biggest issues with my r5 as in the past I used to have a lot of red stuff in there and red lighting but that LED is just blue..
Hey Paul! Just thought of a solution for your blu-ray drive: Why don't you just use double-sided sticky tape and put it flat on top of the shroud? You will still have to open the side panel to insert a CD into the drive but at least it will work and will be part of the system. Since it is a plastic side panel you could make an opening in the side panel for the optical drive. That way it would work with the whole build. Just a thought!
Momin Fakhar riiighhtttt..... good input. Glad to hear your constructive likes and dislikes on the subject. So it's been to years since Paul built it(I searched 😲) but has he done improvements? I would still like to see what he uses, strictly win10? Web browser for Netflix? Steam for games? Is there anything he would do different now? After 2 years of use?
This is probably a fairly stupid question but. My Mobo has 2x USB 2.0 headers and 1x USB 3.1 headers. Will I need an adaptor for the second front USB port?
Mikkel Birch I'm assuming by 3.1 you mean 3.1 gen 2 (not hating on you, the other commenter should have inferred that), which IS twice as fast. and the reason would be there's no motherboard support. I have yet to see a motherboard with an internal 3.1 gen 2 header.
i have a fractal define windows case, full size and it as well dose not have a spot for a optical drive, i fixed that by getting a external driver and it just sits next to it
It will comfortably house the 212X Jay. CPU cooler height restriction for the MiniC is 168/170mm depending on window or solid panel. The 212X is 158 mmm tall. Leaving 10 mm clearance. In fact you could opt for the highest end coolers like the Noctua NH D15 and some of the Cryorigs in this little puppy.
I just hope the D15 would not take up too much space in the area *around* it. I am dead set on eventually getting an 8700K, but I will only use the NH D15 with it, because I plan on overclocking it. I know to use short RAM sticks, but I'm just worried about the ceiling/roof clearance, and the backside of the Micro ATX case. Can anyone even confirm that the NH D15 monster fits *comfortably* in the Fractal Define Mini C? Has it ever been done before? Am I barking up the wrong tree using this case?
Sorry late to the Fractal Design. I realized I have a Define Mini C but now when I want to use it I need to shorten the front in order to fit it to the living room. So I decided to remove the whole front panel and do something new in order to shorten the case. Do you have any ideas and tips on how to do it? I removed the buttons and usb ports, because I figured it will destroy the clearence. Please do a modding video ;) I have 280 radiatior in the front and 240 on the top and no reservoir or sort of a fill port tube down where all the cables go. I need inspiration!!
Had two watch your video and Kyles on the same case because i support both of you guys with views b/c im poor people... but man i wish you guys chatted ahead and one did the mini and one the normal c so i could get both cases reviewed by my favorite reviewers :-P i really want the Define C windowed version for my build update and upgrade to water cooling...
What is the main source of heat in HDD's, is it the motor ? That bright blue LED right in your eyes would drive me nuts in a darkened room, I'd have to disconnect that !
Hope you like the video guys! Just FYI, there isn't *official* support for a 360mm rad up front, but it might fit with a small one or some light modding. Official support is for up to a 280mm.
Paul's Hardware that opening sequence tho Paul or should I say He Man
Paul's Hardware gr8 vid
Paul's Hardware so cool
Paul's Hardware can you give me that pc pleeeeeeeeeease
Paul's Hardware u should do 800 build
It's been too long since the last time micro-ATX form factor is shown some love. Thank you Fractal Design.
thebinggoman Corsair 400C!
UnknownUser Corsair 400C is for full ATX form factor, tho it can fit micro-ATX as well.
thebinggoman It is, you're right, my bad.
no lie, i almost put "Lit AF" on my thumbnail. i think we're spending too much time together.
BitWit lol
Bump?
BitWitsauce News
Scott H I like Kyle's channel. But made me giggle out loud
Lit like the evga 1070/1080? :^)
Do you think that top dust filter would fit the define nano s?
yes. Go ahead and buy that 80$ dust filter.
Well I assume they will sell it separately like they do with a lot of their parts but it doesn't seem to be up on their site yet.
That was my first thought.
I'd like to know this as well
I've had erectile dysfunction all my life, but...
....That intro fixed it gud m8
Joe A. ur mom
Oh you like older people, nothing wrong with that...
PSU shroud plus fan filters everywhere??? Im sold!
I'm a sucker for those shrouds :) Fractal did a good job there. Definite plus with the top-side dust filter.
yaaassss. Been looking for an attractive MicroAtx forever. this will definitely be used for my 2017 build!
how do you control the plex interface? did you get a fancy remote?
is the front panel easily removable? I am looking for a micro atx case in which its front filters can be easily vacuumed say every month
i've been eyeing down the 804 for my next case. interested in this mini c case and glad your video had the 804 in it. i'm still shooting for the 804.
Is it possible to add a 120mm fan in front of the hdd cage? so you'll have a 3 120mm fans in front?
Finally!!! A MicroATX version of the Define S!
Finally a decent looking matx case with a window. Definitely think I'm gonna get this!
Paul do you think a 12.5mm 2.5" WD Scorpio Blue would fit in the SSD mounts?
the rainbow-paul at the beginning alone earns a thumb up
I still have the define R4 and lovin it. Glad to see FD still making sick AF cases
Would a water cooling loop be possible with this case? Admittedly new to even planning pc builds but I like this case and want something that would be able to have cool water cooling added later
do you use that that blu ray drive to watch movies on the machine or just rip them? If so what setup/software do you use.
will that left windowed panel fit the old fd-ca-def-mini case from 6, 7 years ago?
i want to put a 360 rad in the front and i also want to keep the hard drive cage, if i slide the cage all the way over how much space do i have to work with?
Does that top filter fit the Nano S?
I'd be keen to purchase one for mine because it so damn odd and recessed so nothing standard fits.
Great video. I'm really interested in this case. Is it possible to add a 120mm fan in the lower front area of the case and push the hard drive cage closer to the PSU so you can get some air flowing on the HDDs? Thanks!
Did you find this information? I really like this case but I'm concerned about my two 7200 HDDs stacked.
Does this case support regular sized ATX psu?
How do you take the front panel off? Does it just pop off? Want to put another fan in the front but can't figure out how to take of the front cover for the life of me.
Can it fit an atx mobo by removing the psu shroud and using an sfx psu? Thank you
+Paul's Hardware Whats the name of that module under the graphics card? I didn't catch that part.
Very nicely done vid Paul.
Great little case. Nice little refinements. Getting closer and closer to perfect.
I too wish the LED was white. Blue is such an eye sore on my Define S. Blue seems very 2005 to me.
I'd say your channel is underrated but you have over 1M subs. Well done, it's a great channel.
what blu ray player software do you use? do you burn blu rays? if so, what burner software do you use?
can you please link the parts list, or the previous video about the other pc build? Thanks!
Sure looks like in your video that a 360 would work in the front, but Fractal's spec page only lists up to 280 or 240 for the front on the mini. The ATX version they do list 360 as supported.

I wonder how PSU manufacturers feel about shrouds hiding their components.
Atm there just black boxes with zero aesthetics so no reason to show them off.
Dean Lawrence SAY HELLO TO THOR
glass sides are overrated anyway
@@ICCUWANSIUT SAY HELLO TO MORE FUCKING RGB
Where was this when I built my PC?? This is perfect!
Right up your ass
Jeff Peters I'm seriously considering buy this tower. Seems perfect
Can this fit a 200mm PSU with the drive cages removed?
just a noob question here, how hot do SSDs get? is it possible to mount them in the bottom?
would it be possible to mount an MSI H97 GAMING 3, Socket-1150? It says it has support for atx. But when im looking at the dimensions it doesn't look like it.
what about removing the panel for the bigger rad and adding a third fan with the drive bays slid back? it will give your hard drives some cooling air flow. Didnt know if it was an option, but looks easily doable and gives you a 3 fan front for a positive air flow further reducing your dust
tempered glass + white and i would buy. Why only black?
0:42 That transition was so good!
wow haven't even noticed it. and then there is another one just a few seconds after when the back panel magically disappears
12:08 Thank you, Paul. I will recommend Fractal cases all day long but I'm passing on the Define S & Nano S because they're too "vanilla" for my taste. Hi Paul,

Colyn Munn Thanks for the feedback!!! Really looking forward to makin this
Nima Y nice
Thanks!
I have that exact case in white. It's really easy to build with and looks awesome. Good choice
Paul, on the 750$ gaming pc build video can you use a GTX 1070 instead of the 1060?
I'm looking for a very portable case, but I don't want to buy a new video card (I have a fan GPU and I'm worried about temps)
Would this or the nano s be a better option for me?
Is that space between the GPU and the PSU shroud enough for the fans to take air... I plan of putting rx 470 or 480 and I know that they are getting quite hot.. so my question is if these cards will proceed without problem. Love your channel tho
That intro felt sooooo good!
+B Plus
Who WAS that masked man?
Can i Buy the Magnetic Filter separately?
This or Bit Fenix Pandora Icon? Looking for a dope small M-ATX case
This has to be the quickest like I have ever given a vid (6 seconds)! Great work!
I bought this case and had a defective power button out of the box. A Newegg RMA later, and the new case worked fine. The wiring job was the issue on the power button.
06:12 does anyone know name of the theme ?
Another awsome video Paul keep up the good work!!
I have a dumb question. If you take apart your current PC to transfer all current components to a new Case, do you have to reinstall all programs like windows or stuff like that?
Does an atx PSU like the corsair 550xcm fit?
Can you change the Power/HDD Led color on this one? This is one of my biggest issues with my r5 as in the past I used to have a lot of red stuff in there and red lighting but that LED is just blue..
somebody didn't watch the last 5 seconds. answer is no.
There is any noise test?
Is there sound dampening on the front panel?
Is there any temp details for this case?
just wondering has the CPU fan gotten louder over time? like some the cheaper stuff dose
Hey Paul! Just thought of a solution for your blu-ray drive: Why don't you just use double-sided sticky tape and put it flat on top of the shroud? Did you do a video on your HTPC build? What have you done with it since building it? Software & peripherals, opinions, likes & dislikes?
It's a home theater pc, watches movies and multimedia consumption perhaps.
After 2 years of use?
okay. (seemed sarcastic, but I will take it) :p
Would I be able to mount 140mm fans in the front and the back
Best looking case ever, imo
This is probably a fairly stupid question but. My Mobo has 2x USB 2.0 headers and 1x USB 3.1 headers. Will I need an adaptor for the second front USB port?
The intro is ASMR and satisfying all in one
Still no USB 3.1 in the front - why???
Bc it had the same speed as a 3.0
Mikkel Birch I'm assuming by 3.1 you mean 3.1 gen 2 (not hating on you, the other commenter should have inferred that), which IS twice as fast. and the reason would be there's no motherboard support. I have yet to see a motherboard with an internal 3.1 gen 2 header.
are 3.1 gen2 headers even possible with skylake mobos?
Love your design Fractal, if it ain't broke don't fix it! Nice job.
Would the power supply shroud fit in a Nano S? I want one
James Thomas There would be no room for the GPU to breath. It's already super tight between the PSU in that case.
I'm in love with the updates!
can you test the dust filter for the top on the define nano s?
excuse me, can i use motherboard MSI B150M Mortar Arctic in this case?
Great build & review, Paul. I just wish you brought out the "Nano S" for a visual size comparison. I'll have to see if Kyle did so.
what cpu cooler you used??
Will the Noctua 15d fit? :)
You totally had my like and comment at the Himen sprint. That was funny
Can you mount a GTX 1060 G1 Gaming Card in the case?
i have a fractal define windows case, full size and it as well dose not have a spot for a optical drive, i fixed that by getting a external driver and it just sits next to it
I love my Fractal midtower case, really well designed.
This is video 400...congrats! Keep up the awesome work!
what that a cooler underneath the video card?
Can this fit a Hyper 212X CPU cooler?

Could you fit a radiator in there
My next build will be likely a Micro ATX one. My 750D and big Noctua NH-D15 cooler is a pain to move around.
Would an Asus GTX 1080 and a Corsair Hydro H100i fit together in this case?
will you please take a look at the NZXT phantom 240?
Nice video Paul... keep up the good work...
White LED's are a MUST!!!!!
what cpu cooler is he using? thankyou
9:24 only in America.
should I buy this or the phanteks p400?
He-Paul and the masters of the universe!
Best intro, man.
