Wow, I am completely blown away by the quality of this video. Well done, and thank you. I really appreciate the level of detail. Checking out your channel now..
Hi Bruce, it’s the other Bruce, Bruce Bezel! Great to see you at the 130th Hamilton event at Brentmillertime. So happy to see your review on this amazing piece! I purchased it that night! Very happy to have it and see your review! Thanks
this watch is breathtaking in person! i just walked by the Hamilton case in the jewelry store and the glint of it caught my eye, i was like WOW what is that? and then i realized it was the watch i had seen in this video! i can tell you its not as big as it looks in the videos, that was originally why i was kinda put off by it but that changed when i slipped it on my wrist! amazing watch for the price!
Really enjoyed this video. Think I've seen them all on this watch. Like the close up details and the wrist shots. Feel like its right in my hands. Great job.
Very professional review combining great commentary with camera work that really brings out your comments. Great work! Puts this watch back on my short-list.
I have just bought this watch and I love it, I do appreciate this review you made Bruce since it helped me a lot in my decision process of buying this which is my first watch. Keep up the amazing and high quality content you deliver!!! Greetings from Colombia!
Great look @ this timepiece. I just picked one up myself the other day, and I think the face is a great size, for my own wrist. I also noticed the "textured" Arabic numbers, and the hollow at the tip of the seconds hand. This isn't my first swiss automatic - nor is it the most $$ - but it's got a LOT of cool stuff going on, in a neo-vintage aviator-style vibe. Very cool piece. Unbeknownst to me (and apparently the jeweler), it was also used in 'Interstellar'. I just found that out from this vid, so well done. 👍 This watch is a keeper. Incidentally - I'm a tool and die guy for a living at an automotive mfg plant, and I've taken this through 3 days of hell so far. I wrench on 40, 80 and 110 ton stamping presses. Not a chip, not a crack, and not a hiccup in the movement. That's pretty damn solid in my book. Buy one.
That was a fun insert to the day and date windows in the intro, Bruce! I like this watch very much and have come very close to hitting the "buy" button on several occasions. I resisted because I have too many fliegers already plus a Hamilton Khaki, so there would be quite a bit of overlap in my collection. Still, I think this a nice, modern update of the pilot watch with some very interesting stylistics details.
This watch is one of the best updates to pilot watch designs so far imo. The polishing of the indices and hands really gives it a kind of shimmer that other watches don't have, and really helps to make this very unique looking. It's too big for me, so if it was smaller I'd probably get one.
I bought one a little over a year ago, and still love it. It's the only one of my watches that I still find myself admiring while waiting at stop lights.
i've recently bought one. you've really captured all my favorite features in your review. my previous watch was a Seiko skx007 which is the same size (42mm) but because this is all face and the Seiko has a bezel, this does look quite a bit larger. i'm sure i'll get used to it, and the face is so pretty i don't mind too much.
I bought a similar Hamilton watch with a silver face, not nearly as readable as this black background. Like my watch. Love this watch. Nice review... thanks.
Bruce, I think the wrist shots would give us a better idea of how the watch wears if you wore the watch a little higher on your wrist behind the wrist bone; you wear it very very close to your hand and I think it makes the watch look a lot bigger than it really is.
I respect your collection, reviews, and opinion. I am looking at a silver or white dial watch. Am torn! I would love this Hamilton with a silver dial but also the Seiko SARX055. Which watch would think be be a better buy?
@bruce williams. Tissot has a similar watch to the one in your video (powematic 80). which one would you suggest is a overall winner if buying the steel band model. also hamilton also has other day date watches. where dies this watch fits in.
Was set on getting a Laco but the $50 Miyota in a $500+ “German” watch didn’t sit well with me. I think I’ll save up for this or the blue lume Hamilton pilot
Initially i thought this looked great online so tried this and it's bigger brother on in an AD and was totally under impressed. The dial looked very cheap in person neither matt nor gloss. Also a display back on such a basic grade of movement takes away from the watch imo. Would benefit from a solid casebook.
Not rhetorical question: Do you actually wear your watches that far up on your hand or is that where they sit when you first put them on and are about to photograph them? It's difficult to get a good perspective on how the watch looks on the wrist, because I don't think most people wear their watches that close to their hands. Thank you
I think it depends on how your forearm is shaped. Mine is sort of conical so unless I tighten the watch a lot, it always slides down like it does on Bruce and I’ve been wearing watches like this so long that I don’t even feel it at all except if the crown protrudes a lot or is somewhat sharp
i thought this watch was big. I tried it on at the retail store. for my 6.5 inch wrist it fits amazing. i can't believe how small it looks in real life. the lugs taper down so I guess that helps alot. plus its pretty thin. I usually only like 40mm. but this one just fit so well. 42mm is doable with a shorter lug to lug and slim profile!!!!!
I find that most watch reviewers use lume as a pro or con to a watch and how it scores, I get it and they are always valid but in my honest, real-world use; even the best watch lumes can be too hard to read since I usually need to read the time hours after the lume has charged. On the other hand, my cheap Timex beater indiglo is the most useful watch light I have ever used. Too bad there isn't a reasonable method to get indiglo-like function on mechanical/autos.
I have a Jazzmaster with ETA 2892, which is incredibly accurate, and yesterday I bought a Khaki Field Aviation automatic with H30 and an 80-hour power reserve with a blue dial. Hamilton watches offer a lot for their price, which justifies their purchase.
They seemed to have put the new 80hr power reserve movements in most of their watches. Not a good move by Hamilton. Most watch enthusiast much prefer smoother seconds hand to longer power reserve.
Me included. I just bought a used Khaki King with the ETA movement for this very reason. The new movement is also very hard to service unless done by Hamilton directly. Shame.
I bought a Hamilton khaki and it had the newer movement . I didn’t like it and sold it, Is not smooth. I don’t care much on a longer power reserve. I like staring at the second hand instead lol
This is exactly why I DIDN'T purchase the Khaki Navy Scuba. It was perfect in every way, except for the movement. I couldn't care less about 80hrs when I wear the same watch nearly every day. Very glad I have the traditional 2824-2 in my current watch.
Well, count me out, 80 power reserve and after 5 months, my Hammy don't need regulate even one. I back home at morning Saturday, place the watch on my table and forget about it, pick it up in morning Monday and still ticking, that is gold for me.
Wouldn't that be the new H40 and NOT the ETA 2834? I'm not sure why they would put the ETA movement engraving on the case back when the movement inside is the H40..
That is cool, but the original B-Uhr is more legible. I own an A-Uhr, but I am strongly attracted to the B-Uhr. I do not know if I should sell one to keep both, but they are appealing. This Hamilton is cool with the Day-Date, but it does not have the same presence of the traditional B-Uhr.
I’m a big fan of Hamilton ! I own a Hamilton broadway chronograph automatic very impressive watch In my opinion you have to have a Hamilton in your collection.
I'm thinking to buy a Laco Aachen, but this Hamilton is gorgeous. I'm starting to have a doubts. Laco- is original supplier of watches to pilots in WW2 the design is all original. Hamilton is new slik and swiss made. I don't know.
I just got mine. I wanted classic, amazon had pictures of classic but got powermatic version. Should I return this newer version & ask for classic. What do I do. Amazon are scum dealers. I knew they were gonna switch it. Technically powermatic wasn’t out when this movie came out, Matt was wearing classic. I’m stumped
Wow, I am completely blown away by the quality of this video. Well done, and thank you. I really appreciate the level of detail. Checking out your channel now..

Really excellent photography in this very well produced and informative video. First rate.
Thanks!
I don't know how you made it but the intro is just amazing. I believe you are one of the best watches related youtuber out there!
What a creep!

Timely review for me - thanks for posting. I've been looking at this one for my Father In Law who's getting his pilot's license today.
Your intros are always great! Good work 👌
Very nice review. And man, video quality is on point! :)
This watch has become my second Hamilton. I have a decent sized wrist, so I love how it fits. Amazing watch.
Another excellent review. And video and editing. This has quickly become my favourite watch channel. Thank you!

Seriously good video Bruce
So many watches out there think this is a touch big though
Keep up the great videos
great review, im debating getting this watch, so thanks
Your intros are always great

Wear the watch like a man, not some gangster punk.
Lmao !
Right ? He doesn’t wear his watch right
Fantastic critique. I would have liked to have heard a bit more in-depth analysis of the movement but really enjoyed this review. New subscriber
great intro and review... just subbed. I'm looking at getting this guy on j-shop for about 500.
Thanks for the great review!
I really wish more watch models had tapering bracelets as they are more comfortable. Love this watch but bracelet is a no-go. Excellent review sir.
"This watch looks so much better in person than in pictures."
"Well then, let's use it in a movie!"
Huh?
Excellent review!
lots of nice attention to detail in the design!
I respect your collection, reviews, and opinion. I am looking at a silver or white dial watch. Am torn! I would love this Hamilton with a silver dial but also the Seiko SARX055. Which watch would think be be a better buy?
Kudos Bruce ur review and video editing has really gone up a notch
I own both this and Murph . Love them both
Great review!!
I have owned this watch for about 1 year and it is great value for the price. I like Hamilton so much that I also bought the new chronograph 1968.
Pikachu!!!
Great review, that watch has some serious character. Hamilton is like 90% there.
nice review Bruce!
I'm really liking Hamilton these days - never owned one but could see adding this model to my collection. Cheers, John
I like the blue with the green markers... has more pop. Wore one and yeah it does look bigger despite it fitting well on the wrist.
@bruce williams. Tissot has a similar watch to the one in your video (powematic 80). which one would you suggest is a overall winner if buying the steel band model. also hamilton also has other day date watches. where dies this watch fits in.
i got this watch last saturday. Plurge!! Love it !!
excellent review!
Super good review!
I own and love this watch.
Bro I just got mine a few days ago! Badass!
Bruce Williams: The Hamilton Khaki Pilot Day Date is my weekend watch. I love it.
What is the best Hamilton one can get for $700 or below in your opinion?
I’m on the fence between this and the Khaki King II. Which do you prefer?? And why?
Thanks!!
hello sir, I would like to ask you how can I adjust the date in this watch i bought the same one, and thanks for your answer.
80hrs power reserve, impressive. Will look great on a canvas strap
Very cool intro.
This is one of the most beautiful watch I ever seen, must watch the Interstellar movie now 🎥😊👀
The rotor pictures on the Hamilton website does not have the H cut out like the one in your video. Have they changed the movement? Confused.
Was set on getting a Laco but the $50 Miyota in a $500+ “German” watch didn’t sit well with me. I think I’ll save up for this or the blue lume Hamilton pilot
That's such a cool watch!

Does this upgraded eta degrade faster than the older ones?
Muuuuuurph! :)
Cool intro!
Need help if i keep mine with leather strap or it’s worth ti buy bracelet? Thanks
hi thanks for the movie, do you know how much tpd ' and what diraction its wind?
Hi, my wrist is 7.48 inches or 19 cm. Would the 46mm version of this watch be too big for me? Thanks
Is there a retailer you would recommend because the price I see around is around $1000.
Beautiful watch. Just wish it came in a 40mm
Lo bueno de modelo de 46 mm es que tiene la corona roscada , para mí es fundamental. Saludos muy lindo reloj!
You should get your hands on the official Interstellar Murph watch!
Your black leather starp is so luxurious.
Where do you get it?
Not rhetorical question:
Do you actually wear your watches that far up on your hand or is that where they sit when you first put them on and are about to photograph them?
It's difficult to get a good perspective on how the watch looks on the wrist, because I don't think most people wear their watches that close to their hands.
Thank you
evvignes the guy from long island watch wears them like that at the end of his wrist, sort of like a bracelet
I think it depends on how your forearm is shaped. Mine is sort of conical so unless I tighten the watch a lot, it always slides down like it does on Bruce and I’ve been wearing watches like this so long that I don’t even feel it at all except if the crown protrudes a lot or is somewhat sharp
Any chance you have had a chance to check out the white dialed version?
Just bought a new one for under $600 usd. Can't wait to try it on.
i thought this watch was big. I tried it on at the retail store. for my 6.5 inch wrist it fits amazing. i can't believe how small it looks in real life. the lugs taper down so I guess that helps alot. plus its pretty thin. I had the same experience
The Murph watch is coming in May , boom 👍🏻
Jason Wilson eureka!
@@throwingdartsandbreakinghearts no way...

What is the music playing in the intro, it is very epic and fitting to the movie.
Dials inspired by aircraft cabin indicators definitely are the clearest to read.
What kind of pins in the bracelet?
Can you please send me a link from where I can buy this now?
Love this model.
I have a Jazzmaster with ETA 2892, which is incredibly accurate, and yesterday I bought a Khaki Field Aviation automatic with H30 and an 80-hour power reserve with a blue dial. Hamilton watches offer a lot for their price, which justifies their purchase.

Why does it not have the regulation pins? So if your movement is inaccurate, are you screwed?
Seems extremely well made and the dial is gorgeous, but on my 6 inches wrist it would just be ridiculous. :-/
Luca Simoncini they make 38mm version..
Actually, they don't. Not that i could find.. I saw a different variation on the design.
Is it doable on a 6 inch wrist?
What is the name of the music in the intro?
Great review! Shame the quartz 42mm, and the 46mm auto versions come with a screw-down-crown yet this one doesn't!
the real shame is that there is no size option between 42 and 46 …
It's not a dive watch!!
@@tancreddehauteville764 obviously! In that case why give the other two I mentioned a screw down crown?!
Bruce have you thought about wearing your watches a little higher up on your wrist? I think it would suit you better
Just ordered one.
Wouldn't that be the new H40 and NOT the ETA 2834? I'm not sure why they would put the ETA movement engraving on the case back when the movement inside is the H40..
Newer ones are H40. Older are the standard ETA

Bruce is really Stanley Kubrick of watch review world. Good review Sir.
Eventhough it's 42mm but its lug-to-lug is only 48.5mm. My 39mm Certina has 49mm lug-to-lug.
It is exquisite. But I would love a smaller version.
I’m a big fan of Hamilton !
I own a Hamilton broadway chronograph automatic very impressive watch
In my opinion you have to have a Hamilton in your collection.
looks really reflective. Thats my concern
Hamilton should've made it just a tad larger. That way it could double as a satellite dish.
waynerjson A lot of you watch guys have women's wrists huh?
Or maybe they aren't obese americans like the videoposter
Nah, they're just pussies that don't lift. Women folk for sure.
That cracked me up but really it isn't that big, 48mm lug2lug isn't bad at all.
What is "grey market"?
What size is your wrist? I've been going back and forth on whether I need a 40mm or a 42mm. This 42mm looks too large on you at least in the video.
I have a 6.5 inches wrist. And it fits perfectly. In real life this watch is not huge at all.
My brother owns this I own the Murph gotta say I'm a little jealous but my watch is actually going into space with my sons company so I got that.
This one or the khaki king ?
I'm thinking to buy a Laco Aachen, but this Hamilton is gorgeous. I'm starting to have a doubts. Laco- is original supplier of watches to pilots in WW2 the design is all original. Hamilton is new slik and swiss made. I don't know.
