  • A special treat about an immaculate 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 survivor. I have seen a lot of impressive survivors in my time, but his one is up there as one of the craziest.

    Reminds me of the Z in Fast Times at Ridgemont High movie. Beautiful car!

    I’ve got same car, Auto, it’s beautiful, not very fast but gets lots of attention on the roads

    That Z28 is indeed a special time capsule. Glad the owner was deemed the 'right' person to continue to enjoy it and still drives it. Nice.

      Any car with a similar story is always worth sharing I think. It’s not only about the car.

    Wish there was more appreciation for imports in the classic car scene in sask. Almost every car show I've went to is basically the same cars every year with little change.

      I appreciate them all. The 240z interview video I put up last week I felt was one of the best classic examples at the show. This show definitely had a lot of old school, but also the rise of the 90’s classic is apparent now. I definitely can’t complain of the attention my dsm was getting at the show. People do enjoy seeing more than the same old thing that is for sure. I have some more 90’s stuff I talked to owners about coming up in future videos for sure. This Camaro has a great story and I like sharing those no matter what decade or country they come from.

    I bought a 1981 Z28 in 1985. Spring to be exact. While stationed in Hawaii. Around that time. The SS Monte Carlo had been out since 83. Then comes the IROC Z28. Whew. The Trans Ams we're out too. Could hardly go cruising on the island of Oahu. They wanted to. RACE all of the time. Oh and the mustang 5.0 and SVO was roaming around too. I was a cruiser. Lol. The Hawaiian Police NEVER got me for racing. Not saying I didn't pegged it once in awhile. 3 digits. Lol Good times

    The 1979 Z28. Was heavier than the 80/81. Models. 81 was the first year that GM put a computer onboard . The 1979 T/A 10th anniversary .WS6. Those 2 cars were THE last of true muscle cars .

      Why and how were the 79 Z28 heavier than the 80 and 81 models?

    Anyone know where I can get my turbine wheels refreshed? I’m in NY but I’ll send out if I have to. Those wheels on the Z in this video are gorgeous

    T tops, but no pw, pdl, does it have AC, rear defog, delay wipers, or tilt wheel?

    Did you note the size of the trunk? We have a friend who owned a 81 Berlinetta Camaro w T-top. If you’re going to travel anywhere far, you’ll be using the back seat for luggage. A cruise car.

      Yes. Not a family touring car by any means.

    I noticed you did say, depending on where you're from some people called them "Zed28" or Disco Camaro's. I'm from Texas and I have never heard anyone use those terms. That must be a northern thing.

    • @SlippingTime
      @SlippingTime  2 роки тому +3

      Americans say Zee28. Most of the rest of the world say Zed28. It’s a culture thing in how different English speaking countries say the letter Z. It is one of the weird nuances.
      Thanks for asking for question as others maybe curious as well.

      I'm from Rhode Island and I've never heard those terms either. For the record I do not like those terms. It is a Z 28!
