I bought a Adirondack last week and took it out for the first time a couple days. It's compact but roomy at the same time, I'm also pleased with the glide over my 10'9" kayak while still being maneuverability for pond hoping in the Adirondacks. I considered old town 119 also but the esquif is 10 pounds lighter and was only $120 more than the 119, $1105 +tax for a blue camouflage at a local place here in the park, end of season sale.
man that is the best yak/canoe shop I've ever seen, the range is unbelievable. Most shops have a very small selection, which tends to make you choose something you may not have if you'd had more choice. Well done on a great shop
Just purchased a huron 15 from Lancaster was up in the air about which canoe was right for me.i spoke with Dale from Lancaster he was very helpful after choosing thr huron they bubble wrapped the heck out of it put it on a ward tuck and 490 miles a day and a half later received my huron in perfect shape ty Dale and his team.
Looks nice and light weight , how ever I'm looking for something to fish out of for long days on the water , looking at the Discovery Sportsman Solo 119 for that as it has a comfy seat and set up for fishing.
I own an Old Town Pack. Love it but, it ain’t no race horse. It “oil cans” a bit and if it were stiffer, I’m sure it would track a little better. Love to paddle one of those Adirondacks. Thanks!
I wish someone would build models similar to the Mohawk Odyssey 14 and 15 solos since Mohawk is not doing it. I think they could help save the canoe market.
Great video, really nice review. How does this perform vs. the Echo in flatwater to Class II water? or put another way, who would recommend the Echo to vs. who would you recommend the Adirondack to?
The Echo has a shorter profile in the water so it's less effected by the winds. I think you would want the Echo for bigger waters with more flat area paddling. The Class 2 waters I give the edge to the Adirondack Pack. There is 2 feet less to manage in turns. So river runners, the Adirondack Pack is your boat, Lake Paddlers the Echo is your machine. -Isaiah
Boat looks real good for rocky river fishing . I have an OT 119 Any idea how this compares stability wise? Would love to know if the Next seat would fit in this canoe or my 119
I bought one in September 2020, so did not have a chance to use it with a double blade. So far, so good. Only complaint is that the seat, as is with webbing, is too slippery! I'll replace it with something with more friction.
@@mikecasey8950 any complaints about the boat? How does it hold up dragging across shallow rocky waters? I’m looking at this or the old town next, but kinda wanna step it up from a old town. If I had this I think I might put a folding seat on the bench? The light weight factor is a big selling point for me as I will be paddling all day and loading by myself. Sometimes after a day of paddling my arms are like noodles and it’s harder for me to lift on and off the roof rack alone.
@@thatdude4000 Unfortunately I only got to use it a few times in the fall due to late shipment. The material looks as tough or tougher that Royalex. I plan to use a double blade paddle to try that in the spring. OT Next you can only use a DB paddle? Hard to portage I would think as no thwart....would be easy to install. It seemed to windcock more than I would have liked....that's why I want to try the DB paddle.
What does this boat sell for and how long is it please Comment back Looking for a Canoe to retrieve retrieve Remote control boats Please let me know and what is the length and how much does it sell for thank you very much for this video
I’m surprised Old Town has not brought back the Pack 12. Perhaps they can not buy the T formax material. Guess it’s not in Esquif’s interest to have too many manufacturers making product that competes directly with their products. They make the Tformex themselves. The Pack 12 was around 10lbs lighter, so even though T-formex is a similar material, that is quite a difference in weight.
I have two new chaparrals in my showroom. I will shoot a video as soon as I can, our business is very busy with winterizings and I have been solid busy working in the shop. -Isaiah
Translation into French subtitles is awful. Flat bottom and keel canoes are usually designed for still water. Never tried one in class I or II white waters. Just bought mine lately. Not my 1st 12 foots canoe. I installed an homemade removable portage yoke. I greatly appreciate its light weight.
We are planning on new videos coming up here in March. Every Chaparral boat we have is sold, so we might just do a few videos on Sold boats. Business is very busy, no complaints here. It just has me so busy that I haven't had the time to film any videos. Should I film a few videos on sold boats? What do yall think? -Isaiah
@@LancasterCountyMarine Isaiah, anyway you could do some demo videos of you personally paddling some of the canoes and kayaks on a local pond or river pool etc.... your business seems like the only business on UA-cam that covers many old town models and other canoe models also. Lots of good information also! Love to see more videos!
Hopefully soon, I only have a few new Chaparrals in stock. This year we nearly sold out of boats! We are dealing with our service rush for winterizings right now, when I get through that work load I will be doing a new Chap video. -Isaiah

Wow, great breakdown of this pretty little boat! Kudos to Esquif for picking up the slack when the other makers are dropping off. Thank you!

Nice wrap up to the history of plastic pack boats.
Only other one could think to mention is the Novacraft Trapper, about three inches wider.
Would really like to see a video on the Esquif Huron 15 canoe ( not the square back )

i guess Im kinda off topic but do anyone know of a good place to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Raylan Amir I would suggest Flixzone. You can find it on google =)
@Leighton Paxton definitely, I've been watching on FlixZone for since april myself =)
@Leighton Paxton Thanks, signed up and it seems to work :D I really appreciate it!!
@Raylan Amir no problem :)

12', and they sell for $1399. Whichever color you pick.

Hey you gonna do any videos on new Chaparral?
Do you have any canoes in stock? It seems like every store I've been to is sold out.
Yes! Call us up and you can tell us the models your looking for. I have Esquifs and old towns in stock
How well does it track? I am wanting a solo canoe for fishing and wilderness camping.
Are you gonna make any new video?
Today and tomorrow videos are scheduled, be ready!
I can’t believe it’s been so long since you showed a boat on your channel do you still sale motor boats?
Every boat is sold that comes in, and my showroom boats too. I may end up doing a video on a Sold Chaparral. -Isaiah
And I weigh almost 300 pounds would this boat be good for me Please comment back and let me know thank you
I would recommend a larger boat for your weight. Consider the Mallard as an option.

Very easily, because the width of the gunwales and how light the adirondack is
I'm 60 years old. I love this canoe. It is a bit heavy to Portage. If you need to get a lighter canoe but you will pay more .

Looks like a copy of the Old Town Pack, discontinued when Royalex died. My Old Town weighs 33 lb for comparison.
