Thank you so much for posting this video! I've been looking everywhere for input specifically on the Prospecteur 15 and how it compares to the Pocket Canyon. I really appreciate the info here and the nice close-up shots of the canoe. I got some great feedback from Evan and Ben as well - great to hear them get a shout out!
I have the 16 and have been been out tripping with it for a few years. Its a tough stable canoe and I love it. The one issue is, its pretty heavy so I wouldn't recommend it if you are doing long portages. I guess that's the price you have to pay for the white water durability. Thanks for the video.
I've been debating getting a Huron 15 (which I know has shorter sides than the P15, but I like the lower weight) for river tripping - what do you think about pulling in the sides a bit to make them easier to solo?
I am interested in a Prospecteur 17, how is the primary and secondary stability on it? Does the 3 1/2" of rocker on the 17' feel similar to the 2 3/4" rocker on the 15'?... I mean is it relatively as nimble to turn considering the extra length?
The canyon will stay dryer in rapids while the p17 tracks better. The primary stability is very similar while the secondary stability on the canyon might be a bit higher.
@@trav-Elr Id say about the same. would be very hard to notice the difference. the 17 may feel slightly more primary stability because of a slightly flatter bottom and less rocker will make it feel less lively especially when not loaded
I just got mine (in red) and I'm loving it so far! But that olive green looks incredible. Well done Esquif 👏
That’s wassup!
I love my P15. Perfect for tandem trips with my wife and an easy solo paddle. It was tons of fun on my first C1s and C2s last weekend.
Such a beautiful boat!!👏

Thank you :)
I just bought this one in red, and can't wait to get in and start paddling!
Nice to meet you Lina :) 🌊 🛶
I just got a pros 16 in February. Paddles great, feels quick and fun
Great choice!

Hi Sheryl, might be time to try the new t-formex lite at almost 20% less weight. contact us to try one out :)

pulling in the sides would reduce rocker depending on how you want it to feel. I would prefer higher sidewalls and more rocker

The p17 is a very popular boat for tripping with 4 barrels. It handles big water while tracking much better than the canyon. It is quite nimble.

Is this colour still available? i can't find it on their website.
Yes usually special order only with extra
@@Paddle_ca Thank you! Ordered one from my local Esquif dealer. Beautiful boat.
The olive is a nice color ... why don't they make that a regular color choice rather than charging an extra $225 ?
sadly only standard on a few models
Is it a shallow arch bottom or a flat bottom?
Shallow arch. P-sport from esquif is slightly rounder than the p15 or p16
