thank you so much!!! hey ever try using the amulet "whispering marble" (grants 3 stacks of bulwark increaes damage 3% per stack of bulwark) then dried clay ring (grants 1 stack of bulwark, increases all damage by 60% of total DR granted by bulwark stacks) I've been able to reach 5 stacks of Bulwark but why cant it go any higher?!? but right now my damage increase is stable at 30% and my DR is stable at 35% and i still have room for 2 more rings!!!! any thoughts on how to improve this build anymore? i was thinking about adding probability chord and something else that improves my damage crit something to heal myself
I have a doubt. What would be more efficient to prioritize to keep myself alive but to also deal good amounts of dmg? Damage reduction is good enough? Consumable, traits, challenger class, etc. I have a melee build with high dps (high melee sttack speed, high melee dmg and crit chance), I dont use summons but seems like I should get some for Blood bond
I can feel the amount of frustration in your voice from people who spit out nonsense without knowing what they're talking about. You've done an amazing job correcting the misinformation in this video. It's not the best explanation as you said, but it helped a ton. Thank you so much for the spreadsheet.
As someone who’s just been wandering about in this game and not understanding why I was getting rag dolled on the higher difficulties, I’d like to say thank you. This makes much more sense than anything I have seen before
For those who may ask when you open the sheet you need to click file -> make a copy -> choose where you want it saved to, then you can edit your copy of the sheet for yourself.
These are the kinds of videos i need. Explaining the inner workings of how the game calculates this stuff...gives us context when we are trying to put together a build. Thanks dude.
I was not understanding exactly *how* flat DR was multiplicative with armor DR until now. But seeing a 10% barkskin taking off ~4% from the ~40 damage *remaining* after armour (and not adding ~6 on top of the 60 DR already present) it all finally clicked. Nice sheet by the way, very clean.
Hats off to you sir! im new to the game and i am tired of build guides that doesnt explain correctly wtf they put on and why. This opens up the possibility of me trying out my own unique buiilt.
Once again, another video that's actually 10 minutes of useful information. Also keep in mind that both builds compared were aiming for similar but different goals in mind. I have watched both videos and Vash's build was built for sheer tankiness while the latter was made more for co op. That's why it has more health because it increases healing. Thanks for the spreadsheet, it allows us to be more creative with our builds instead of just copying whatever's best.

Glad you like the vid and the sheet! In regards to the other bit on your comment, I already typed up a hefty response to a similar complaint so I recommend looking for a comment posted by a yologaming8113 to see a similar discussion as while you have different ways of bringing up the complaint, your complaint is [kind of] similar and my response, bar a few sections specifically catered to that guy, can applicable here as well.
As someone who accidentally started with a build similar to what this discusses and moved into a much more popular regenerative build for apocalypse, only to ask "why am I getting bodied so hard I thought I was supposed to be tankier" THIS IS SO VINDICATING. I finally understand what I did wrong when I changed my build, and I feel oddly proud I walked face first into a semi-meta build when I started the game. Thanks for the help!
This is exactly the methodology I used to push my effective HP to 1,924 with my own tank build that I based on yours (I credited you of course). 184 HP + 80% DR + Blood Bond + Song + 60% of my HP worth of shields since Rerouting Cable gives 50% and the fragment gives 20% more shields than normal. Glad to see I'm on the same page as you, since I feel like you're one of the only remnant 2 creators who know what you're doing.
Please can you make some DPS builds in this style, I now no longer trust any other videos to do with R2 that aren’t yours! What a breath of fresh air. I cannot stand the homogenous click bait content that surrounds games, especially souls likes or games like this. Or those thumb nails where people just look surprised, it makes me want to punch them… Good video and a true analytical approach to build making, any one can just throw together a build in a game without much thought but this has given me a new perspective for what is actually quality content, as numbers don’t lie ☺️
The moment I realize I like the game about shooting robots with a bow and wood bugs with space guns so much that I spend 10 minutes looking at a data sheet while listening to a math guy crunching numbers. Thanks for the info, btw.
Hi, thanks for sharing the sheet and explaining how things worked. I used your previous built to help others in thier game, was a lot of fun taking boss hits and still surviving. Now with you sharing the sheet, can customize it a bit for my play style as well. Thanks again. Best of luck with your channel. (PS. Hope you play Amored Core as well so we can get some helpful guides on that too 😅)
Yes, as others have stated great video. Love the data backing up ur recommendations. Are u planning any videos making a build w/ the best of both worlds i.e. good survivability w/ some decent damage?
Possibly in the future. Right now I have covered all the builds I wanted to cover, basically everything I wanted to test. I was actually done with videos until a new update changes things, with the last video on the melee build. But, as I said in the video, I was really surprised by the comments I was getting, so I was like well maybe I make one more video while waiting for an update.
I actually wasn't going to do another build video, but funnily enough I will have another one out in the next day or so. I was making another video to criticize some very popular build choices that doesn't make sense, and I inadvertently made another build just to show why those builds I'm criticizing don't make sense... so... yeah lmfao
@@VashCowaii dude it's so tiresome seeing all the content dump from ppl that don't understand the game, your type of content is very rare, we need that man
I'm seeing some different DR and armor numbers with the same build, I'm guessing patches have changed how the UI calculates those two? Idk but either way thank you so much for this and the other two videos u put out after this one. SUPER informative and helpful. I was so frustrated after using these builds from other videos and still getting smoked in 1 to 2 hits even from regular enemies on apocalypse. Your video has made QUITE a difference.
Dude thank you so much! I was getting destroyed in full Leto and I thought the game was unbalanced/broken. Now I'm taking on apocalypse and it's really not that bad with the right gear. This video is fantastic, good job!
I see comments like these and just say to my monitor: YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES. lmfao. Super stoked you were able to take away the info you needed to improve.
Your video, kind of helped me idk if its just me and not being great and understanding more complex mechanics likes these, but i cant seem to get any thing above 50% except with one of my rings wich skyrockets my DR to 148% its so frustrating to me
I think the surprise comes more from not knowing that these are keywords to use in games like this and not necessarily that they didn't know what do you are specifically was if that makes sense. At the end of the day Dr isn't going to magically make you die less. Understanding other mechanics in the game like s and attack patterns proper item utilization etc. Are ultimately what you need to know to survive with even a meta build in this game
Great video! Thanks for explaining! Through your videos I was able to find the optimal way for me to have enough dr and dmg and the mods and weapons I wanted to use to get apocalypse done. I kinda dont wanna use minions or turret tough, they are strong in many encounters, but often they are bugged or useless, so I went with medic and archon because its fcking cool and archon is kinda bugged too in many situations but I am not so much reliant on it as I would be on my minions or turret.
10:30 Fantastic. Love everything about this video. All that said, I have a question regarding developer statements about damage reduction and the intent of play for higher difficulties, particularly Apocalypse: So, Tragic (sure you know who he is, but just in case, he's the principal developer behind Remnant 2) said that they did not intend for everyone to be tanking through Apocalypse. He said that due in part to a need to respond to community complaints about damage reduction after the Fortify bug fix. He conceded that it was possible that certain armor sets needed to be tuned up, but that, first and foremost, stacking a bunch of DR and general survivability was never meant to be 'necessary' or even the best way to get through Apocalypse, but merely one way of many, and that the primary intent behind the Apocalypse difficulty is that experienced players would find ways to play around or even ignore certain mechanics entirely. In light of that, and the brilliant argument you've put together here, I feel compelled to ask you, are Tragic's response and argument reasonable? I know I _might_ have been able to beat Apocalypse, given time, _not_ using a build that stacked a high degree of survivability and a lot of relic charge regeneration (I went Medic primary, Archon secondary, with moderately high damage reduction (somewhere around 65%) and around 180 HP for the purpose of replenishing relic charges, which wasn't just for healing, but to rapidly refresh mod power so I could spam high-damage mods (not _that_ high damage, but damage that was reasonable for Apocalypse and that let me play with the playstyle I wanted to play), and doing that plus using Enigma to clear the orbs on Annihilation was what enabled me to beat that boss, but without doing that, I think it might have taken me weeks, at least, of consistent, frequent attempts in order to learn the boss so well that he just never touched me again. I've played a ton of Souls-likes, and beaten all of them several times, some of them on their highest possible difficulties, with builds that weren't particularly min-maxed, and the only time I felt as pressed by Annihilation on Apocalypse was when I fought Slave Knight Gael on NG+2 in Dark Souls 3. Not even Malenia in Elden Ring gave me that much trouble. I've done things like kill Orphan of Kos at level 43 with a threaded cane on an arcane build (I needed his parasite for a low-level invasion build, don't judge me). Point is, I'm not _bad_ at these games. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what Tragic meant, but I don't think I beat that boss in a way that the developers intended, at least not for someone who has well-learned the boss's patterns and practiced the execution. What's more, with the way I have always understood Souls games to be, and the games that take inspiration from them, the value and the challenge isn't necessarily all in the high tuning of the bosses, but the creative ways in which people solve the puzzles that the bosses represent. If that's the case, then I'm really not sure how to as effectively solve the puzzle that is Apocalypse boss content as, well, capping DR and raising effective health by a lot, and then finding places to fit damage in here and there. You are certainly going to face a rougher challenge stacking damage to the moon than doing something like this; I don't see damage has the same slot-for-slot value that survivability does, and if it doesn't, or if it doesn't at least come close or have its own niche, then that makes Tragic's argument totally incoherent, unless they're planning on buffing damage so high that you nuke a boss down in a few seconds, or buffing medium and light armor to such a degree that they allow for much higher up-time on a boss than normal. Am I missing something? Was Tragic leaving out significant details or context that might clarify what he meant? If so, could that missing information perhaps be deduced from looking at the design and tuning of the different options available to players? Was Tragic being reasonable when he said what he did, or is he clueless about how his own game works?
I think they've shifted the goalpost several times and continue to do so. Whenever these discussion happen with tragic, they're usually incredibly vague and unhelpful(even from the player end of it) but I don't necessarily blame them for that. At first it sounded like they wanted you to die in a few hits even with high EHP in apoc. Now, after a recent discussion on discord I saw(not in relation to this video or any builds but just tanking in a broad sense) tragic said tank builds are strong and you can manage to be unkillable and DR is meant to be training wheels that allow you to earn/learn how to forgo DR and play more skillfully. If we go off of this most recent discussion, it makes it SOUND like they're ok with big tank builds, however I kind of don't believe that. They killed turret clipping and while I understand that was a wildly effective way to subvert sections of the game, it was literally just speedrunning tech. They killed it bc it allowed players to bypass "intended" parts of their game, and they didn't like that and I can get that. But if that is any indicator, I'm certain that they are not ok with full on facetank, and we will probably see some kind of very small change that makes a very huge difference when it comes to things like Medic healing tank builds, can't say for certain about something like my melee build though. On the other hand though, they did bolster DR values from various sources making it easier to reach the DR cap. So really, lmfao, who tf actually knows. I don't think tragic is clueless by any means, but I'm just not sure he's the greatest at articulating things consistently, which is why we have this dilemma on our hands of how tf to interpret various instances of what he said vs various design choices.
Lol I love how I know the build you were talking about I think I sae that person's video and the build was ok but yours just take it to where it needs to go . I can't reach 80% DR for the life of me with the items I currently have but I'll get there
5:46 you should min max one build that you put here. Your obviously a thorough guy, an it would be great to see a perfect build that min/max 2 important stats. Either balanced or favoring the one stat maxed out!

You're awesome Brother.. you deserve a lot more subs than what you have with the quality of content you're producing. Keep it up.
Thanks for posting the doc sheet makes things sooooo much easier for me
Thanks for Das sheet! Hugely helpful with buildcrafting.
Yo, great video, love me a easy to use spreadsheet and a banger of an explanation to go with it, keep up the good work.
I'm so glad that I found this channel, this was very informative and helpful 👏
This was huge for me to understand this topic. Was gonna say damage but kinda feel like that its own topic now
May not be the greatest explanation in a Platonic sense, but it is by far the best I've ever seen. Thank you.
Great Video, Keep up the good work
Never met a cc so deserving of praises. U are legend good sir.
Thanks for explaining in depth.
Can wait for future build videos.
Love your build help so much and the way you explained and showed made since. Showing your work always helps to explain.
So useful. Thank you!
What do you mean?
The "iNsANe UnDYiNg" clickbait farm vids make for great content.
really appreciate the video really has helped clear up how exactly things get calculated your earned my sub today :D
Please can you make some DPS builds in this style, I now no longer trust any other videos to do with R2 that aren’t yours! What a breath of fresh air. I cannot stand the homogenous click bait content that surrounds games, especially souls likes or games like this. Or those thumb nails where people just look surprised, it makes me want to punch them…
Good video and a true analytical approach to build making, any one can just throw together a build in a game without much thought but this has given me a new perspective for what is actually quality content, as numbers don’t lie ☺️
The doc is a huge help! Thanks man
How DARE you say that actual math is more better than my feelycraft
gives me jinjinx vibes of explaining mafs. thanks man. not that im into mafs in game, but it helps to understand ingame calculations.
Very detailed, been loving your vids. New sub for sure.
Good stuff. Thanks for breaking it apart and making it easy.
(PS. Hope you play Amored Core as well so we can get some helpful guides on that too 😅)
Really appreciate you sharing the sheet!
I fw ur commentary too dawg
Yes, as others have stated great video. Love the data backing up ur recommendations. Are u planning any videos making a build w/ the best of both worlds i.e. good survivability w/ some decent damage?
Possibly in the future. Right now I have covered all the builds I wanted to cover, basically everything I wanted to test. I was actually done with videos until a new update changes things, with the last video on the melee build. But, as I said in the video, I was really surprised by the comments I was getting, so I was like well maybe I make one more video while waiting for an update.
Thank you for all of this in depth explanation.
Love these videos of yours.
Pretty damn good explanation and informative as hell!
Thanks
Nice work. Because of your videos, I made a build using your sheet for hardcore.
Bro we need more content. Keep making builds please
I actually wasn't going to do another build video, but funnily enough I will have another one out in the next day or so. I was making another video to criticize some very popular build choices that doesn't make sense, and I inadvertently made another build just to show why those builds I'm criticizing don't make sense... so... yeah lmfao
@@VashCowaii dude it's so tiresome seeing all the content dump from ppl that don't understand the game, your type of content is very rare, we need that man
@@VashCowaii I'm glad to see you're going to keep doing it
I can I just say how much I appreciate that you cuss? It’s a small gesture, but it means a lot to me.
How it is calculated is actually the same, armor values have just changed, that's all
Dude thank you so much! I was getting destroyed in full Leto and I thought the game was unbalanced/broken. Now I'm taking on apocalypse and it's really not that bad with the right gear. This video is fantastic, good job!
Yes, this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the video it has helped me out a lot.
Very resourceful. Especially the excel sheet. Need me some of that.
Cheers mate, fully explained and real. Gonna try losom later for exp. Great video
If I have full set of radiant armor, my relic, amulet and ring have no defensive stat. Which defensive traits should I prioritise?
Thanks for the info, was able to rework my current build to hit the cap effectively.
I see comments like these and just say to my monitor: YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES. lmfao. Super stoked you were able to take away the info you needed to improve.
Your video, kind of helped me idk if its just me and not being great and understanding more complex mechanics likes these, but i cant seem to get any thing above 50% except with one of my rings wich skyrockets my DR to 148% its so frustrating to me
No woman will ever bring me as much satisfaction as a game with really complicated math and an excess of weapons
Love intelligent creators. Thumbs up!
Incredibly useful information that I undoubtedly will never use since I wear 4 damage rings and equip the fae armour because it looks cool.
this was awesome , thank you !
Thanks for sharing knowledge, love your remnant videos👍
As much as you shit talk your own summoner build, it did carry me on apocalypse up until venom.
So props to you regardless
You are the goat and this is super helpful
Thabk you I was struggling with the harder difficulties
Thank-you so much for this.
This is massive. Thank you
Great video!
Dude your awesome... and I learned something important .. thank you subbed too
10:30 Fantastic. Love everything about this video. All that said, I have a question regarding developer statements about damage reduction and the intent of play for higher difficulties, particularly Apocalypse:
So, Tragic (sure you know who he is, but just in case, he's the principal developer behind Remnant 2) said that they did not intend for everyone to be tanking through Apocalypse.
@@VashCowaii Okay. That makes sense. Thanks for the thoughtful response.
this is insane
congratulations.
Big brained. You are going to be my go-to for Remnant 2 mechanics.
Lol I love how I know the build you were talking about I think I sae that person's video and the build was ok but yours just take it to where it needs to go .
I can't reach 80% DR for the life of me with the items I currently have but I'll get there
Even though I already knew about this information, it is concise enough for me to chuck at my friends who I keep having to pick up lmao
5:46 you should min max one build that you put here. Your obviously a thorough guy, an it would be great to see a perfect build that min/max 2 important stats. Either balanced or favoring the one stat maxed out!
