Garden Tractor Plow Day - Wheel Horse 953, IH Cub Cadet and Sears garden tractors working the field!

Hey everyone and welcome to Doug's Tractor Shed! For this first episode, I'm attending a plow day and driving a good friend's Wheel Horse 953. This was Wheel Horse's first attempt at a big tractor, and it was made for only one year - 1963. It would be succeeded by the 1054. The 953 in this video has a Kohler 12 hp engine, as the original was fairly worn out. It's using a hydraulic lift and a modified Brinly moldboard plow that's been slightly re-angled to allow for less clogging!

This is cool. I just bought a 1971 Wheel Horse Charger 12 for $45. It runs and has the original Wheel Horse tires (dry rotted but still hold air). My son actually bought it for me because I like old mowers. My oldest is a 1968 Snapper Comet 30 that I bought out of a barn in Jonesborough, Tennessee, two years ago.
