You're right on Glassman. I have had a Cub Cader 125 made in 1968 which has a K301 12hp Kohler in it. It runs today and has never been rebuilt. Keep oil in it and they run forever. I got it in 1972 and have been cutting grass and blowing snow with it ever since. Certainly not junk like the crap they make today. Take the Briggs Intec. ACR falls apart and you can't start it. Need to replace the camshaft. Now, that's junk.
Totally naive. Possibly after junior, overhauls a couple thousand Tecumseh's, and new type Briggs with plastic timing gear and pot metal compression release module, he just might come to the reality, Kohler's, just might not be garbage after all.
For its time those wheel horses were money! Pretty easy to work on. Powerful little boogers. My grandparents had one when i was a kid, got many miles on that thing from gardening, mowing and plowing etc. Great vid, fires the memories up!
That Wheel Horse will be around working long after you and I are gone! The Kolher K series are bulletproof one of the best engines ever built I have a 1967 comando 8 , a c120 and a c141
Any motor should last that long if it’s maintained even though many still don’t, but this kohler is definitely impressive. I’m mainly not a fan of the newer kohlers. Thank you for watching!
Good work on keeping it running while adjusting the linkages Air Screw of the carb. You've got a natural feel for engine tunning. You've certainly got the Dogs backing!
Special T, That's a nice tractor. I remember when I was a kid a neighbor had one wasn't that big though. It had a pull rope. I thought it was pretty cool . I went to an auction and a B 80 was up for auction. I was going to go to $100 I got to thinking, I've got too much to work on now and only one other person was bidding, so I stopped at $80 and the other guy got it for $85. I was happy for him. I have no idea if he got it running or not. I do know I could turn the engine over by hand. It did have an electric starter. That's a nice machine you've got there. I think I would try painting it. If you don't, it still looks good. 😊
Those mowers sound awesome and I would paint it but it wasn’t my mower, I was just fixing it for someone, but it is still cool. Thank you for watching!
Love how excited the dog is. That WH looks a lot like mine; I have a (cracked) lens assembly though with LEDs in the original light sockets. And those decals look fresh; I wonder where the owner got them.
@@atlucas1 The leds in the original light sockets is a good idea, unfortunately the previous owner who put the decals on has passed away and now his son is keeping the collection alive! Thank you for watching!

@@specialt9744 hey no worries. Glad to help. I'm not sure about the 10 HP and larger.. 8 HP and smaller you remove the dipstick, wipe it clean, then just set it on the edge of the block to get the reading.
The the handle for rotating the blade is on backwards. Remove all that junk nuts/bolts/washers and rotate the handle around so the offset is on the reverse side. Give me a shout if you need any manuals or help.
That makes more sense. If it was my personal machine I would have flipped it around but it worked fine and the guy that owned it was happy with it. I’ll definitely let you know in the future if I need any manuals or anything. Thank you for watching!
Make sure that old fuel pump is not leaking gas into the engine crankcase and diluting the engine oil. Also make sure there is no water in the gearbox / transmission.
Got one I'll sell don't have the deck but has push blade an tiller an snow blower an does run but fuel pump needs replaced I live in ky an price for all of it is 600
No offense, but I think you are the wrong person to own this Wheel Horse. You do not understand nor appreciate this tractor. Comparing it to that modern mower beside it you should know the Wheel Horse will work circles around and last far longer than modern stuff. Wheel Horse tractors got handed down from generation to generation that does not happen with modern stuff.
Why? It’s not a rare or particularly nice wheel horse it’s just old, and also it’s not mine I was just fixing it for my neighbor. Thank you for watching!
@@billshepherd1217 well it’s not my tractor, I’m just fixing it for the owner, and no I’m not a big fan of Kohler engines. I’ve always had stupid issues with them and they’re harder and more expensive to fix then the Briggs. But thank you for watching!
If you call a K series Koehler garbage, you have no clue! Probably the best garden tractor motor built.
