Just fyi for anyone that doesn’t know Not All weed whips are set up this way. A lot do have to be opened and strung.

You should specify that in your short version too… you’d be saving a lot of people disappointment when they go to try this and realize their string trimmer doesn’t have this option

1. If you can see daylight through the cap holes chances are you out of string, 2. Length of string: most trimmers will take about 15ft of string; using the outstretched fingertip to fingertip measurement method, cut your string to the desired length, 3. The trimmer cap and the back plate needs to be rotated in opposite directions at the same time; this prevents the trimmer line from tangling on itself; hope this helps!

That's called a speedfeed head really easy to load with line, do it all the time, but not all weedeaters have that design.

I believe it's the 400 head. you can see triangles in the plastic. that's where you line up the Holes. I take fingertip to fingertip three times which is about 18 ft 6 ft per pole. cut it. bend it in half at a crease and then feed it.
That is how THAT particular weed eater is re-strung

I've got that same weedeater head and I never knew it could be so simple. It was a replacement head and the instructions never mentioned the reloading process. Thanks man !!

@@janedoe6071 🤣Sometimes they get old and stuck. Try and squeeze one side only and Use a screwdriver or something similar to pry that side out. Then go to other side and push that tab in. Use a screwdriver the same way as before and it should pop out. Hope this helps. Have a blessed day 😁😎✌️

Best thing I ever bought was a speed loader for my echo that takes individual strings. Fast as Fk to reload.

Ummm... I've never had a problem re-stringing a weed eater. Even after I figured out how to re-string it. I still think this new way is way more problematic than the old way. How many of y'all have re-strung one and start weedeating and all the string comes flying out of it. Never had that problem before. It's just stupid how this generation has thought they fixed something when made it worse... Just saying !!!!

Only for Echo speed feed heads. The new Husqvarna are very similar but I don't recommend them.

Not a full length. You need to cut it to the right length. Ive never noticed any pinching. Ive never had an issue. I may not be understanding your question. My apologies. Thank you for watching and have a blessed day😁🙏
For a rookie sure thing but for a Pro Lawn Maintenance guy no guey !
Yeah come prepared with a roll of line 5 arm lengths and find the middle of that and pinch it w your teeth and wrap it and put into your pants or shirt pocket . When your weed eater line is empty , it will typically still be in the position for it to be fed , where ya see daylight . Unwrap the weed eater line and feed it into the cap until ya reach the crimped line .
Ya can start twisting your cap to load it .
This type of weed eater head is supposed to be idiot proof meaning ya never need to remove the cap to load it . But hey , they forgot about some guey genius who made this video.

Echo speed feed head....they make a kit to fit most string trimmers. Or just buy echo products they make amazing equipment this speed feed head is the best on the market

Those heads suck. After use, dirt and grass clog the winding mechanism making it hard to install string. The old style are way easier and reliable.

Dude, that is a soeed feed head. YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE IT OFF TO PUT TRIMMER LINE IN! If there is trimmer line still in the head, you can't see through it.

Really? It may be re-strung too tight in a way that is binding the string inside and keeping it from spooling out like it should. Remove the string and re-install it. Just tray not to re-string it so tightly if you did that in the first place. Hope this helps. Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for watching and have a blessed day😁🙏
Maybe I'll try this way because I've tried other ways where you take the cap off you put it on and you turn it well guess what what happens is when you end up using it it sucks in the string

This is kind of misleading! This only works on certain types of weed eater heads . The majority of heads need to be taken apart & have new line put on the old fashioned way !

I have this echos you don’t have to pull them apart like that the string will come out it’s self and they can hold 20 feet of string not 5 like this guy did

Be honest in your video. It's a speed feed head.Different than most heads that come with a trimmer when bought.

This is one of the best inventions ever made...the weedeater speed bumphead. This makes stringing weedeater so fast and easy

That is the speed feed head. All are not that way. Usually with speed feed you dont have to take the cap off because the string would have came on its own when it gets too short.

Not all weed eaters can be reloaded that way u have buy a special head for that to work I know bcuz I bought that same head for my echo weedeater from homedepot & yes it saves alot of time

No need to take the cap off just line up the hole with the little v shape on the bottom of the cap and put the line in
