I really like the look of this tent. Thinking of trading in my Nallo 2 for this as I like to camp high in the mountains and the weight of the Sly scraper is very appealing. My only concern is the long term durability of the materials. Particularly the pole sleeves. Not too bothered bout the bathtub floor as a good footprint would resolve punctures.
Great question on durability. Check that video post date: 4 years ago and still using the same tent as of summer ‘22. Only one tear in a pole sleeve and it’s minor. All zippers still working. A tear in the floor from sharp rock but repaired with seam sealer. Solid lightweight durable tent-robby denning
That’s good to hear, have you used a footprint or groundsheet when using the Sky Scraper 2? I guess it’s the design of this tent that surpasses most mountain tents for me. Shame the import fees are crazy in the uk but something to think about. Thanks for the thorough review, very helpful.
@@williammay6879 no, haven't used a ground cloth, just take the risks and save the weight and hassle of one more piece of gear. only one hole in 4 years, so still winning. Dang import fees.
8/15/18 update. turns out I've got the webtruss on upside down! You'll see this at around 3:00 minutes. That cross pole should face the sky. My bad. It'll obviously work this way, but it needs flipped for best set-up
Robby Denning here. Thanks for you questions. I've had it in 4th season conditions several times since I filmed that video, plus several of our members have ran it in those conditions. Seems to do just fine. Here's some links, see page 3 and 4 on the first one for some comments on it in those conditions: www.rokslide.com/forums/threads/testing-stone-glacier-skyscraper-2p-tent.98672/ and one of our writers Josh Boyd did a full written review on the same tent that you might find helpful here: www.rokslide.com/stone-glacier-skyscraper-2p-tent-review/ And as of writing this (February 5th, 2020,) same tent is set up in my backyard as I'm using it to test some sleeping bags in 4th season conditions. www.rokslide.com/forums/threads/kuiu-superdown-vs-western-mountaineering-badger-15-degree-bags.158501/ The only thing I've not tested it in is heavy snow loads or winds above about 40mph and yes, it's a sling fin, but we got ours through Stone Glacier. Hope that helps.

Love that saddle blanket for your extra padding! Packing in with my uncle all we get is saddle pads for comfort!
They work and saves some room in the panniers

The picture of the tent in 4-season mode mentioned in the video is the lead picture in the video, FYI
So how does this 4 season tent handle actual 4 season weather? Also it's just a slingfin rebrand.
