Why The Rockets BENCHED Jalen Green 😧

- The Rockets have too many young studs to be giving the ball to a sub 40% "scorer".
I love watching the NBA then making videos about it.

One is out of the league, and Jalen is playing himself into a bench role and a role player contract.

Jalen Green is what you call 'a chucker'
I feel like a lot of problems stem from his last 2 years in Houston. Coach Silas probably did more damage than he did. Good for Jalen. This really is for season playing under a real coach on a real team
Silas was a disastrous coach
I think Jalen's problem is mental. He is very athletic, fast and has potential, but unfortunately his basketball IQ is low. More young people may be able to improve, but I don't think he will develop in the near future.
Didn’t you hear him on draft night.. he THOUGHT he should be #1.. he has to be humbled. He’s one of the worst performers outta that class
@@Adam-um6iu I hadn't heard what they said on draft night. But it is obvious that he is not right in what he says. :)

@@JadenJPDBI prefer Jaden Ivy. He isn’t dry humping his teammates.
There is no way the Rockets take scrubs for him, they are at least trying to get to a play-in spot if not a full series or two in the playoffs
Before Ime the Rockets didn't have much discipline. Jalen got used to the laid back, no worries attitude of the old system. He's being benched because Ima has a new, better system.
Silas gave the team's keys to Jalen and did not care about his defense and low efficiency.
So in short, the rockets shifted to gear towards winning by signing, Fred, Dillon and Ime Udoka as the coach. Green stayed the same inefficient shot chucker as he was when he came into the league while everyone else around him is getting better thus prompting the coach to give his shots elsewhere. From the top 4 picks of his draft class, he's the only one right now who isn't guaranteed to get a rookie max extension.
I take him on Golden state

I am no Rockets fan but Green looks like a run and jump type of guy. No baskerball I.Q
He should do a good job in a circus.
He’s what julien Newman would be if he was taller and made the nba
The problem with the JG is he doesn't know whats gonna happen next. He has no idea why some thing is working and other things are not. So he doesn't know what to do, he's lost. That's what happens with the low game iq players leaning too much on their athletic abilities.
Josh green is the same way
He got used to using his speed and hops playing against boys and never really developing much skills. That won't work playing with grown ass men especially with him being really skinny.
Hope you okay bruh
@longride7234 what? He does those things every single year after the Allstars break against tanking team off course.
Let's see if he can play efficiently against any good team on the road than we can talk...
@@tsuthebasa hahaha that's very unfair ... other teams also fought against that worst team. I guess you are a Detroit fan or a Filipino toxic fan?
Yu okay bruh? 🤣🤣🤣
He was giving the Keys early but didn't take advantage of it. It happens, not every young athletic player is ready to carry a team or be the face of it. Its all a gamble 🎲. He will be fine though. He just needs some good mentors in his life..
He was given the keys, by essentially a rookie coach, who didn't know how to coach.
Jalen green is a Jordan clarkson type of player
Exactly!
@@karimw.9954 yup honestly nothing wrong wit it but but not something you want from ur 2nd pick he can a high volume scorer off yhe bench for a good team someday
hahaha! They both have Filipino blood!
I feel like Jalen is about to become the next microwave type player like JR Smith and Lou Williams. The type of player you can’t really rely on to win you a chip but is vital to bring a spark when the rest of the team is having an off night
Damn - I was just thinking the same thing
You know that JR smith was a very good defender right? That's why he played 15 seasons in the league. Ballhog and chucker like Jalen Green doesn't last that long in the league.
Yeah. As a cavs fan don’t Disrespect JR like that. Dude was a DAWG on defense.
More like a Nick young
Never a fan of Jalen Green, clearly too immature to be in the league, still remember him playing Cade for the first time, he tried to prove himself a little bit too much and was out of control the entire game while Cade stayed humble and quietly won the game.
Exactly. I remember that game and then thought, "this guy is still a kid and will always remain a kid and never develop. "
You sound like an idiot today. He's HIM
I hope Washington signs him.
Green, Poole and Kuzma will be must see TV.
Who TF wants to see 3 bums on a team 😂😂😂😂

With his agility and athleticism, he can easily improve his efficiency by moving off ball and cutting a lot more. He could have done a lot more. But no he just wants to be a shot chucker, taking shitty high difficulty shots, fancy dribble moves that get him shit tons of turnovers, and highlight dunks that only happen few and far between. What a waste of talent. SMH
I'm glad Ime isn't afraid to put his footdown. If you aren't making shots, play harder.
Jalen is not focused on basketball. Once he forgets social media and locks in he can be good or just be Terrence Ross.

The Rockets is Alpi's team right now. Which is the right thing to do for Ime.
When you look closely on his highlights he’s either hitting open lane/jumper or moves AWAY from defender to score like a fade away or layup finish. At early in his career I thought he was doing that to compensate for his skinny frame but that didn’t really make sense why he is shooting unbalanced three beyond the arc. Now I know that he got so used to those shots because that what inspired him to play basketball when he was growing up, all that crazy looking finish around the rim and impossible dagger three pointer was the blue print of Green’s basketball. He never learned/played proper basketball and skipped over college which masked his weakness before getting drafted. I’ve only seen handful of time he dunked over actual contact defender which shows you he got a bad control of the ball while in the air and didn’t learn how to finish around contact.
The rockets have thompson and whitmore ready to go. Green needs to figure it out or hes gone.
Kobe didn’t show out until his fourth yr I wouldn’t trade him for sht*** when ppl want wat u have they’ll talk u out of it dats job to talk sht*****
I think jalen green needs to play more in a tactical way. He always trying to play in a most fashion way which compromise his basketball iq. What I believe in his mind once he holds the basketball is to do highlights and a picture perfect move rather than reading the game. It means he's not yet mature enough. I hope won't waste his talent and grinding.
Problem is he played AAU style basketball in his entire life and that’s the reason why so many top high-school prospects drops down in rating during college ball. Many are athletic but cannot learn the fundamentals thus making them almost unplayable until they can figure out. If Jalen went to College route instead of G-League he would’ve been drafted outside of lottery around 15~25 range which is what he is.
He would have fit right in the early 2000s as a shot chucker.
On a bad team maybe. The 2000s was the slowest offensive era in the modern NBA. Far less shots for a player, who isn’t the man. Jalen is no Iverson, Pierce or Kobe.
Problem is they're taking the ball out of his hands more. Expecting him to play more catch and shoot BBall. And that's not his game. It will take him a year or 2 to fit that role perfectly. He expected to be treated like Anthony Edwards/ Melo Ball, and given the team. And with Udoku coming in running the team more around Sengun & Van-Fleet, its better for the win now. I believe they're stunting his growth or at least slowing his progress. But JG is talented enough to get through these rough spots. He just has to keep believing and working on his craft. It took Kobe 4 years to avg 20pts a game because he was on the bench.
Jalen just need to tweak his game a bit, and if gets to unlock that part of being a good passer, not forcing turn overs, he will be ok.
Yeah je needed to not to seek the rim but his teammates when he's attacking but they teammates needs to roll as well
Jalen Green has no basketball IQ. Ive been saying this since watching his annoying rookie season. James Harden realized it right away, in the small stint where he tried to make it work with the young group we had at the time. It sucks its taken the Rockets 3 years to realize this bc his trade value is much lower now than it was 1 or 2 years ago.
Harden never played with Jalen. What are you talking about?
They love the money not the game🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
As a rockets fan Sengun is that guy for the team and Jalen needs to step to the side. I was looking at jerseys and can’t even find a Sengun one on the rockets website 😭
That’s funny as shii😂😂
If they get Lavine they can really take off.
@@AlldatJazz-rw9wyEven though Lavine is more disciplined and would be better fit for Houston, they are almost the exact same player basically. Slight upgrade but not a difference maker with wins.
@@rashb3994 the difference is the coach. Ime sees Jalen's weakness, and can help Lavine with direction better than Jalen, because Jalen still has some learning to do, Lavine is a vet, he knows what he needs to do, the Bulls just don't have the right coach. Ime would be the difference, just like he is with Brooks.
@@AlldatJazz-rw9wy That's actually a really great point!
I mean I’m pretty sure everybody could see this coming. Silas was running an AAU team and Jalen Green never learned how to be an actual NBA player
That's cherry picking plays. With the new players that came in, and new coach, it became a new era for this team. Rockets are still the same, just with new players in the line up but still basically the same. Shop Green and trade him. Such a waste to bench and no longer a young player like him.
Jalen green is the prime example of the modern athlete that's going into the league these days has an abundance of talent has solid skill but was giving everything too soon at an early age it is not mature enough to handle it doesn't want to get better because in their mind they feel like they already is the best and is more captivated by social media and the perks that come with being famous
Problems with player like him who lean on more on physical abilities and isolation, they don't know how to play off the ball.
It a be crazy they send him to Detroit 😂😂😂😂😂 he gone be pissed if they send him to a team with Cade on it. It might work out tho.
He really plays like a true filipino as soon as the ball is inbounded he's only looking to score
Pretty sure that Jalen green ig post was fake. Did you get it from the fake hoop central account?
They got it from the fake Hoop central account and made a whole video about it misinformation runs rampant on twitter it’s actually not even funny.
fred vanvleet is shooting worse then green. 40.4 vs 40.2
yes but he can pass
And can get you a bucket in the clutch
He can pass, he can set the others especially Alpi in crucial moments.
And they called me crazy when I said he’s not good at all his first and second season. Y’all only realizing it now because vets came in and they’re a much better team.
JALEN GREEN ...
SCOTTIE BARNES waiting for you in TORONTO... Come Through 😈😈😈
Nah, we don’t want him. Immanuel Quickley would be a much better option
Hard to be efficient with that awkward shot form and his bad shot selection.
Whatever it is Green's up to aside, comparing any guard's FG% with the total league average is unfair
Very unfair I don’t think that’s a accurate representation of looking at stats that’s why I don’t take pages like this serious they already are skewed at looking only at stats and not at the games
He's still 5% lower than league average amongst shooting guards. He's shooting 39% vs SG average being 44%
Honestly yes. He may be an amazing 6th man in a couple of years. But watching him at games he looks out if place on the court can't defend
Rusty buckets called it.. the traditional SG is going extinct. A player in the mold of jalen green just doesnt fit in the modern nba with their one track skillset
Everyone is being dramatic about it. He’ll be fine. First year with Udoka.
What do you mean he'll be fine... Green is no longer the first option of the team, and now getting less and less mins. And from what we are seeing Green is only good enough to be a role player, but his expectation was to be at Kobe's level (Draft Comparison was Jordan and Kobe)
Quite the shallow and unintelligent comment
@@ninjafighte6that’s not his fault they thought that
@@ninjafighte6 bruh he will be fine and figure it out he can still be at that Jordan level he's played there before this is Houston first year with a positive record like chill yall love microwave results

I wanna see him off the bench and have tari start
Go get Lavine. It's that simple. That would make them contenders.
Dude just needs to change his game and be like any pickup player wanting to get picked. Take the practice shots that he’s comfortable taking. The points will come
I mean he only needs a good mentor for SG but not many great SG players would train with him besides if Kobe was alive if I were JG I will look at Kobe’s game and see it make it on his own! Yes he is not efficient this year that is the by product of volume shots his shooting and driving missing lay ups. And this is only his 3rd year and a new coach that is true at coaching make some time for adjustments.
He’s nowhere close to Kobe
You cannot surely let the team fall behind due to a guy who does not learn anything, can you?
He's young and is playing his first season without his boyfriend on the team(christopher) ppl need to show a little more sympathy
I don't think we could get enough in return for a trade to make it worth it. I would rather send him to the Vipers for a season and see if he gets his stuff together. He needs play time and he won't be seeing enough of that with the Rockets going forward.
green hustunda oynayacak kapasıtede deyıl şutu çök zayıf savunması zayıf bıraz daha skorer oynaması lazım çök şut kaçırıyor bu kabul edılemez
he has zero self awareness. so, until thats fixed, he's not gonna reach his potential-whatever that is
It wouldn’t hurt the Rockets to bring Jalen off the bench. And Ime is the kind of coach to do that if it means the team wins and makes the playoffs!!! Go Rockets!!!
Been known that clown would be a bust. Trade him to the wizards or Detroit
he a tiktok baller not fit for pro
Players like him are really not needed in the league. He doesn't defend and make good decisions. If a player is a shooting guard he has to be lights out as a STARTER. Teams can't have a bad field goal shooting shooting guard. That is unacceptable in todays modern era. He has to start doing the little things and being an energy guy who can score off the bench. If not he will be out of the league soon.
He is inefficient, isn’t a good playmaker. Bad on defence. No redeeming factors
@@malnutritionboy He has to change his game. If not he will be out of the league. The NBA is deep in shooting guards and small forwards. They usually don't need to wait long for those positions to develop. As we can see by his diminished playing time. This is where AAU Ball hurts players like him. He never had to learn the game. He just was out there running around shooting and not doing shit else
@@nemesisenforcer907felling 3rd year guy to change his game to be useful is already a sign he is not gonna be good player in the league.
Green n the nets picks for bridges.
Nets get control of their tank. N bridges fits better with the rockets.
Why would Nets do that lol
He doesn’t know how to play winning basketball. And he will be eligible for an extension soon.
Much love Jalen
J. Green does not have qualifications of a traditional guard who can make plays and run the offense.. he looks more like a street ball player who only focuses on scoring or forcing his way to a shot the moment he gets the ball.. passing is not his priority..
That’s a lie because there’s times where literally watching him pass before shoot ime even said that Jalen’s decisions look pre determined that’s how I know you ain’t been watching the games 😂

Jalen green cares more about being a fashion model and painting his nails and social media fame rather than getting better he’s got comfortable and that’s not a good thing
The Cam Newton of the NBA.
His Slam Dunk contest performance says everything about his play and his ineptitude....
houston only got themselves to blame. should’ve tried to develop him instead of letting him do whatever out there
Usually this type of player are effective when leading the bench. Poole Clarkson monk etc
Patience
He sucks.
He is everything wrong with the AAU system. He came into the league with no discipline for team ball. He just went out there and jacked up shots like he's always done. I'm happy the Rockets are in a position they are not going to be held hostage with Green.
I’m in the minority with this but players should not be able to skip college and go to the G-League unless he is undoubtedly next level. Many of these new players lack basic basketball fundamentals and it’s showing all over the league. Case in point, there is a reason why international players are dominating the league and that’s due to understanding the game of basketball and not solely relying on their athleticism
I really dont know how you mispronounce "Ime Udoka" and that social media post was fake. He never posted that. Saying all that, I do agree that JG should be benched or even traded.
Hate how they posted that instagram story as real and it was from a fake page that said parody in the bio
Bro painted his nails black tells me all I need to now 😂
Bro showed the same miss like 40 times 😂
Being competitive is not the same as "trying to win now". The rockets are still clearly focused on player progression, there's no rush for anything.
You're too casual to be making videos.
I think he should start focusing on playing better defense and let the offense come to him. He has a lot of potential to become a good player of a drive basket player instead of a shooter
Jalen Green needs to get the boot. He should be playing in somewhere in Latin America or Asia.
You sounds like a casual fan
He's so young when he was drafted
And when he was drafted nobody mentored him
Your asking why they giving him a lot of shots
That's the role given to him
And when your role is the go to guy your mentality is if you missed 10 shots you should make 10 shots that's still 50%
Give him a room to grow
Judge him 4 years from now
The rockets gotta see more from him. 4 years from now he might not be in Houston
correct but it's been 4 years and he's not at 50%. he's at 39.
It should not take too much of a mentoring if the guy is a bit clever. 10 games would be enough with a decent coaching team. He is a bust.
Coach spoe is right
We're livin now in a microwave society
The reason why Miami is so successful on their young players
Is because for them
Player development is more important
In short
Patience is a virtue
If you’re an Allen Iverson fan, I don’t wanna ever hear you criticize Green or any other inefficient, volume scorers. Because you loved it when Iverson did it.
Been told people dude was overrated!!! My Pistons are bad, really bad right now lol, but so happy they didnt take him over Cade.
Please at least TRY to say Ime Udoka's name correctly. It sure ain't "I-may You-doke-you"!
