Waitin' For The Bus - Jesus Just Left Chicago , ZZ Top , 1973 Vinyl
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 чер 2015
- The only single released from the album was "La Grange"., but "Waitin' for the Bus" and "Jesus Just Left Chicago" are very popular and played as much as "La Grange", and since those two songs segue into each other, they are usually played together.
The transition from "Waitin' for the Bus" to "Jesus Just Left Chicago" is the greatest transition of all time.
They really down-shifted gears! Right up there with Santanna's, "Black magic woman" and "Gypsie Queen!"
really slick for sure.
Saw these guys 3 different tours. Best Three Piece Band that I've ever seen, Bar None.
@@scotchace8689 I saw them in the Salt Palace in 1976 (Salt Lake City). They were great but they were LOUD. My ears are still aching from that concert.

I am 63 years old and our generation had the best music you will ever listen to, we saw the best boxers, basketball players, baseball players, and American football. We lived it all. Smoked the best weed to a lot of this music. God has truly blessed us.
I'm 55 and I tell kids today that they missed the best times ever. 80's were all about having as much fun as possible. Huge parties with almost no fights, general admission concerts for under $10, sex was still safe and most girls were born girls and boys were boys (for the most part, I always wondered about Boy George🤣) Weed was cheap, so was Cocaine. Damn, those were good times!

Hell yeah!!
I remember putting my dad's system in his house and giving him his first CD player. I had this (Tres Hombes) in the car as he didn't have any CD's yet. I played it and he said, hey I like that sound. THEN my mom came in and said, hey, I really like that what is it? Well, this was about 20 years ago so maybe 2000. I was 45 and they were 70. Talk about being floored... So, Dad and I had a beer and mom a glass of wine and we played it loud... It was a really nice system in a great room...

Well said, I feel the same way, I’m with you 1000%. ZZ TOP will not be ZZ without Dusty Hill. I love listening to their music and playing their music. Especially these two songs and Blue Jean Blues.
@@jeffscott7266 I can't see them continuing their your. It can never be ZZ TOPP. Some bands( hell, most bands) tour with replacements all the time. This band can't. Same goes for RUSH. The part that is gone cannot be replaced. I can't see them wanting to either. Unless of coarse it's a money thing but for the fans it's not going to be good. Maybe if Frank grows a beard. I can remember when I was 6 years old and the stoner teenagers next door use to listen to ZZ Top in their garage. When I heard it I was memorized. They'd blast it on their stereo and the smell of pot. The 70s were a magical moment for me. This was 1974.
I’m 54 and you can still smell pot and hear ZZTop loudly from my living room. I have an 1800 watt stereo with a dj station,so when I turn it up my neighbors jam too. Most of the time I’m playing the bass along with them just like a teenager.
Dig it...
Yep, I'm just a year younger and I remember the same things. I'm so thankful that I grew up in those " Magical days " Great memories for sure!

I met Dusty in a club in '79. Really cool person, God Bless him and RIP.
We ate the Mexico Combo plate many times at Leo's as shown in the centerfold of the Album, washing it down with a Bohemia.....
Aahhh those were the days....
It is my contention that if you ever play one without the other, you anger Jesus, as you leave Him in Chicago waiting for his bus indefinitely.
Ted Dennison that is the funniest thing i had read! nobody wants to anger Jesus yo, so dont leave him waiting for the bus!
Haha ! I cant inagine it another way

One the very best Rock trios to ever grace the stage
Yes! I think of Stevie and Double Trouble
@@fidelmorfin Cream, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Rory Gallagher, you gotta play your a$$ off in a trio for sure!
@@brianwells4507 I see your point but the way I look at it a band with 4 members where only 3 are making music with just a lead singer puts out the same jams. Led Zeppelin minus Plant singing would sort of be a trio if you follow my logic. Imagine Cream with a separate singer same scenario.
@@Tom-ok2rh yep totally true, think Montrose and Van Halen for that matter, neither Eddie or Ronnie could sing? Kenny Wayne Shepard, and Jimmie Vaughan can't either, too. It's just that I think that playing guitar and singing itself, is difficult. But playing guitar and singing simultaneouse, amazingly is incredibly difficult! Takes a whole lot of skill and concentration, especially under the influence of various party substances. 😎That's why my hats off to the band's that can do that, and make it look easy.
@@brianwells4507 For sure Brian.. that’s definitely a reason why they opt for a separate singer cause I’m sure it is difficult to sing and play an instrument. Plus if you CAN get away with only three, hey that’s more money to divvy up😂😂😂

They made a Hell of a lot more money in the 80's, but that 80's shit of their in no way compares to this & the rest of the early albums.
My first concert. December 1973. Bakersfield Civic Auditorium. ZZ was the warm up band for Steve Miller. When they had finished, the crowd was chanting "ZZ Top, ZZ Top". Almost ran Steve Miller off of the stage. You never forget your first concert, and this one was worthy of the memory.
