When it comes to movie adaptations, you need to know the story and the characters to do a critical analysis. You don´t understand what you saw.

They literally had no idea what they’re looking at or the source material.
Regarding diversity: this came from the stage production, colorblind casting has always been a thing on stage. So I don’t know where this diversity take is coming from, like if you’re going to Broadway, where colorblind casting has always been a thing, is this take going to stay?
Also this is a John Chu film, and he literally cast based on talent in his movies
The direction of the trailer is literally just the stage production but translated to screen
The story is much deeper than you think

I don’t see anything wrong with a diverse cast? I’m a white male and I LOVE to see every race in a movie.
Ugh I wish straight yt men would just stop talking. Elphaba is green so her being played by any race wouldn’t matter. And Cynthia Erivo is a phenomenal singer and actress and Oscar away from an egot. Like smh do better

Exactly. Please. READ THE SOURCE MATERIAL…the BOOK! And do us a favor. Do a tiny amount of prep before you comment on something you have NO IDEA about. Because otherwise you look foolish. I think overall you’re great. Just try a little harder. THANKS. And newsflash- the story of WICKED is the PREQUEL to ‘The Wizard of Oz’, and delves into why the Wicked Witch became wicked, and how ‘Galinda’ (letter called ‘Glinda’j becomes the Good Witch. At the start, Galinda is a mean girl, and Elphaba is not. It’s crucial that the two leads-The Wicked Witch (Elphaba) and The Good Witch (Galinda, later Glinda) have great chemistry. This delves into the friendship between the two! And from what I’ve seen, Cynthia ERIVO and Ariana Grande have fantastic chemistry. Similar to the original Broadway cast, where Idina Menzel played Elphaba and Kristin Chenoweth played Glinda. So please. BEFORE you go see the film, read the book. And have an understanding of what the story is. Otherwise, you will not get the plot, and will make additional silly reaction videos! Thanks!
