What is that black flag to the left of the screen behind the "wise works guy" (who made this video? It has a sketching of an older-looking man with a black patch over his left eye, a beard, and some strange symbols above his head. Anybody know what that is supposed to represent? The white high school and college crowds of the early 1960's were targeted with Folk Music by political and religious influences and the record companies as a more intellectually acceptable genre alternative to the emotionally charged and morally dangerous Negro music of Blues and Rhythm and Blues that had given birth to Rock and Roll and electronic instrumentation. Keeping electronic instrumentation out of Folk Music kept the dangerous emotional impact away from the white kids and was considered paramount to the continued success of the Folk Music industry which was already starting to suffer from the incursion of more and more black and white Rock and Roll acts. To the besieged Folk Music industry, Bob Dylan and his early songs generated the kind of excitement and sales that the industry was desperate for and needed to stay relevant with the growing Baby Boomer market. Bob Dylan must have been aware of this interplay and was likely resentful that a mix of purists, political and religious actors (and Record Companies who had invested in their scheme) were setting the rules as to what styles of music artists could create and even what instruments were acceptable to play the music. By 1965 Dylan was already recording and releasing some songs with electronic instruments. So at the Newport Folk Festival on July 25, 1965 he decided he would play some of them and gave Folk Music an enema.

I am looking forward to Season 5 and I will go see it in theaters for sure. And how we would love to see Schmuel see Jesus as Messiah... But Christians know better... We should know better... But once the Will of God allows Jesus to be arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane, all of the Chosen flee... Peter defends by the sword, and Jonathan by his love, but they all flee... It's the point... To me it shows no matter how dedicated loyal, and faithful we are to Jesus... We all fall short... We all turn away... Only through Christ's grace and mercy through His own suffering do we receive our salvation. Once saved by His work, He sends us the Holy Spirit to sanctify us, to comfort us, guide us, equip us, and give us peace.❤❤❤

Judas believed right up to the time that Yeshua ( Jesus ) was condemned to death by crucifixion. His problem was that He was trying to force the Hand of God. He believed Yeshua was the Messiah. But his Messiah was the conquering warrior King that almost all Jews believed in. The salvation they believed in was the hand of the Almighty smiting the Romans and reestablishing the Nation of Israel. It's is what they prayed for centuries. The King of Kings. And Judas was convinced that if Yeshua had His back to the wall, that the warrior King, the right hand of the Almighty would reveal Himself. He like so many Jews believed that was what the scriptures said and that it was a foregone conclusion that when Messiah came, all of Israel's enemies would be crushed under His heel. But God had another type of salvation in mind. For the salvation of the physical nation of Israel was of no consequence when compared to the salvation of their souls. Their national identity meant nothing when compared to the slavery of sin. They believe themselves righteous and in that belief they proved themselves to be as sinful as the basest pagan. And He called them out time and again and they would not listen. And in their arrogant blindness they had Him crucified because He did not conform to THEIR idea of Messiah. Judas's REAL condemantion was in not believing that Yeshua would ever forgive him for what he had done. And in his agony he took his own life rather than believe that even he could be redeemed. God uses people's choices to accomplish His Will. That is how awesome He is. That even by sinning and trying with all their might to throw a monkey wrench in His plan, God still accomplishes His will and does not EVER violate human freedom of choice. Every choice is made freely but God is omniscient and though the route to the end goal is complicated, His Will is ALWAYS still accomplished. The Adversary still cannot imagine how that spells his inevitable defeat. He schemes and plans and in His hubris does not ever take into account that the story is already written. Maybe he does and all he is doing trying to inflict the maximum amount of pain. I still think it is not sane. Judas would have been redeemed if he has simply not taken his life. The soul knows the truth. When we die and the soul is returned to it's state of awareness, it is too late to make the choice. Every knee will bow and every mouth will confess that Yeshua is Lord. And so many will know that the choice they made in life was wrong. And that they condemned themselves.

The blocking for the Judas and Jesus conversation is very similar to the Nicodemus and Jesus scene in season 1 👀 mirroring the same conversation about misplaced expectations of Jesus with different results is amazing filmmaking.

Yep! I have 'Been on this train" from the beginning. I love this series and I lived through the "Jesus Revolution" in 1970s. My Pastor Chuck Smith loved to call it the "Jesus REVOLATION" because when you accept Jesus into your heart, you get a new life, and a very special RELATIONSHIP with our God. I see God doing it all over again by using Johnathon Roumee to be at the lead. He was born to do this roll...literally. Timothee is actually VERY articulate in spaces where he is talking about his work specifically or his character as opposed to late night shows that are more about promoting himself sort of which are anxiety inducing. i would say his Q&A's at movie screenings and 'actors on actors' or actors rountables are interviews with him that are very similar to the zane lowe interview where he's given the space to simply talk about his approach to a role. great video though.
